There are no words to describe the gratitude that we feel for having Golnar as our wedding officiant. It is an extremely intimate and meaningful job to be an officiant, and my husband and I were very particular in selecting one. We were nervous to share such an intimate milestone with somebody we had never met. However, that was not the case when meeting Golnar. As soon as we met her, she felt like family. She immediately got to know us, listened to our needs, observed our relationship, asked questions about our families and our background, and that really showed in the custom and tailored ceremony that she graced us with. Golnar is so wonderful. I found her online and we met pretty shortly after in person to have an initial meeting with my now husband. We are an interracial couple - I am Persian and he is African American, and she did a fabulous job hearing our story. She truly made it about us, and that was so comforting. She made sure we didn't have to participate in anything that made us uncomfortable. She even attended our rehearsal which was so great and helpful since we were having a sofre ceremony that my bridesmaids weren't familiar with and she explained what was happening every step of the way. She was also super helpful in guiding us through the process of obtaining the marriage license/certificate. Golnar officiated our wedding in March. I won't lie, I was very nervous because I had never been to a wedding where it was a combination of a Persiand and Western style ceremony. She met with us and went over some details with us, told us how the ceremony would look on the day of the wedding. She listened to us carefully and gave us suggestions, she explained everything about Sofreh (Persian ceremony) for my husband in the best way possible.
