The Canadian Brewhouse - Wings.

August 12/2025: Grad dinner for Garrett…read more At first, I thought this LOOKED like a great sports bar. Lots of seating, tons of TV's & what appeared to be a decent menu. Then it shifted to screaming "CHEAP"! We sat at the bar as the hostess said the seating was full but it looked FAR from full. It also didn't fill up during the time we were there either. Then I looked closer & many things fell apart. The service was slow, the food was both mediocre and had super small portion size. The draft beer size LOOKED big but in reality it was more like a 12oz pint with a really big mug. It was Taco Tuesday. The Tacos were $3.49/taco, beef or chicken. They were a decent size but virtually tasteless & the meat on both was completely dried out completely. I ordered the house signature wings, xtra saucy ($18.99) for a Pound. They should have been embarrassed by what they turned out! They were exactly opposite to what the menu said. They were TINY & almost devoid of sauce! I'm unclear as to what the obstacle is for saucy wings!? All in all...this is definitely NOT a do over or a recommend.

Review of The Canadian Brewhouse - Kitchener Location…read more Overall Rating: 1 out of 5 stars (Poor/Inedible) Our recent experience at the Kitchener location was extremely disappointing, marked by logistical issues, slow service, and significant quality problems with the food. First Impressions & Seating Upon arrival, the entrance area was poorly managed. With a party of five, there was literally no space to stand while waiting, which created an immediate bottleneck and awkward experience for both our group and others entering/exiting. Service & Drinks Once seated, we ordered drinks promptly. While the Diet Pepsi, Lemonade, and water were fine, the Club Soda was noticeably flat. Our food order took an excessive 45 minutes to arrive, and only after our server proactively checked on the kitchen's status. Food Quality - Major Issues The most critical issue was the quality of the food across multiple dishes. It was unacceptable. Items ordered: Spicy Hickory Burger: WAY overcooked/burnt. The taste of char dominated the flavour. The accompanying fries were the only saving grace. Canadian Burgers with cheese and bacon: The burger itself was burnt, and the bacon was burnt crispy. The sweet potato fries were soggy. Creamy Chicken Alfredo with mushrooms: Minimal chicken (only 1 sliver initially). When a replacement chicken breast was provided, it was burnt. Creamy Chicken Alfredo (no mushrooms): The pasta itself was mediocre ("meh"), but the portion of chicken was generous, receiving the fewest complaints from our party. Chorizo Mac and Cheese (new menu item): Inedible. The flavour was utterly appalling--metallic and burnt, tasting like "dirt sautéed in a dirty pan." I had to spit it out. The pasta also featured pieces of unmelted cheese, indicating poor preparation. We also signed up for the app (before we got our food) to get the free appetizer which was a cheesy garlic bread. We got it with marinara for take home. After you peel off the burned bacon and cheese layer, you're left with a decent pizza dough to dip in decent marinara. Conclusion The pervasive issue of burnt food (affecting three out of five entrées) and the truly inedible quality of the new Chorizo Mac and Cheese indicates a severe breakdown in the kitchen. Combined with the cramped waiting area and slow service, we cannot recommend this location and hope management addresses these fundamental quality control issues immediately. On the bright side, our waitress was nice. We will never eat here again.

Chuck's Roadhouse Bar & Grill

I am not a trendsetter. Far from it. I had first heard about Chuck's Roadhouse last year. I didn't…read moreknow about this one in Kitchener until I passed by it to get to one of my favourite submarine sandwich stores, Jersey Mike's. After picking up a sub to bring back to Markham on Labour Day, I hit this Chuck's for lunch. This restaurant is in a huge plaza with lots of parking. I parked at around 1:30 pm on Labour Day and walked in. This location has been around since 2015. I had no idea. Better late than figuring it out a decade later, I suppose. I was greeted by a male staff member and got to sit at a table near the bar. I had a bartender as my server. She was highly efficient. I feel that she would be a good lawyer. She was serious, helpful, and to the point with her questions. I got my usual, which is sirloin steak and lobster, with corn on the cob, mashed potatoes with gravy, and clarified butter. My mashed potato substitution was an extra $2. I felt like comfort food, so I was good. I'd say about ten minutes later, my food came out. Yay! The sirloin steak was done medium well, which was perfect. The lobster was sweet. I am the type who tries getting as much meat out of the tail area as possible. I succeeded, but ended up launching the cleaned-out shell onto the floor. For a flying good time, call me. I love clarified butter. Mine was a bit lumpy, though. I stirred it up and there were still lumps. The flavour was good, though. I continued dunking practically all my food in it. My mashed potatoes with gravy hit the spot. I loved the generous gravy that I got. So good! My corn was done well. The downside was that it was cold. So, my rating is really 3.5 stars. I appreciated how efficient my server was. I'd come back to give dessert a chance to fit into my stomach. (372)

My cousin, friend and I went here for dinner when we travelled for a weekend away to Kitchener…read more Unfortunately, this chain is no comparison to the large American chains that it's trying to replicate. I believe my friend and I ordered Chicken Fingers and were both satisfied with our meals. Nothing over the moon fantastic but certainly satisfied our appetite. My cousin's salmon was the real disappointment. It was tiny and not filling, it was also the most expensive dish of the three. The piece that was served paled in comparison to the picture of the meal in the menu! The atmosphere was rowdy and loud. We could barely hear each other and we were as far away from the bar as we could get. The prices were reasonable but they are upfront about extra costs. None of us are overly keen on returning here in the future. But it's nice to see a new chain trying to make its way in Canada!
