He had my size but there was a blemish that he went to check to see if the cobbler could fix. We remained in touch but never made a move on buying. Fast forward 2 months later and I'm in Montreal again. I went by and spoke to Diana and what do you know - Scarpa had the shoes still. Not only that, but she offered 50% off since the blemish was still there. Plot twist ! But that's a whole notha can of worms, pun intended) ...anywoot when we asked about those things their staff, though very nice, was not aware that their hooks did in fact contain lead and while trying to be helpful recommended us a brand of hook that "contains chemicals know to cause cancer to the state of California" as per the package. So yah I guess I was just expecting more and it wasn't all that. We left without anything we were looking for. I would go back to enjoy their endless selection of lures and bait and such in the fishing section but it's a bit overwhelming I don't know if I'd be more inclined to actually spend money here.

It's important to not let your emotions get in the way of your business and he's lost a customer plus a lot more that I would have referred had I had a nice experience! I wouldn't recommend to support someone who isn't honest and tries to guilt trip customers. :(

They start at such a fair beyond good deal that I've never ever had to negotiate with them. There is always new stuff every other week and they've held stuff for me because they know I'm a frequent customer and I keep my word when I say I am returning for something. The woman and her son and girlfriend always have a super friendly disposition and its a pleasure to see them when I'm looking for weird stuff. I actually try to stay out of the store because I always end up spending more than I have because of the rareness of the items. Great place.

Given that Montreal is notorious for bicycle theft, it…read moredoesn't make sense to buy a *too* nice a bike given the moment you lock it up somewhere public, it'll probably disappear within 15 minutes but at the same time you still need a bike that does the job and is fun and comfortable to ride. I needed everything checked and tuned up to make sure that I hadn't bought a clunker and that it's ready for this cycling season. Got everything checked and it turns out I got an excellent bike and the complete check up and tune up only set me back $23. The repair guy also was super helpful and gave me tips on other accessories that I might want to eventually add to my bike like types of toe-clips and bike locks. It was pretty effortless.
