The cons is that the place is showing its age--everything is old. The shoes, the machines, the balls, etc. The balls are pretty dinged up with dents in them. For the regular pin bowling, they didn't have many lighter balls. Most of them were very heavy. But that wasn't the problem--it's the fact that all the bowling balls were disgustingly greasy! People eat and put their greasy paws on the balls and it looks like the staff don't clean the balls. Since I've not gone bowling for at least a dozen years, I don't recall ever playing with greasy bowling balls. Can anyone tell me if this is the norm? We all enjoyed the small pin bowling so it was cool that there were plenty of lanes available for that. To switch lanes, you need to request that at the counter. I would go back but would bring some Lysol wipes to clean the balls before playing.

It does the job for a young child, so 5 stars it gets! Well my son visited this place when he was 2 and he's now almost 4 and he loved it even more the second time around! We spent I kid you not a good 5 hours here! This place isn't really a museum. It's not "educational" in the traditional sense although kids can learn by doing all sorts of things. The kids can go inside a fire truck, police car, rocket ship, weird cave, grocery store, school room, pet clinic, airplane, and there's a karaoke stage. Some useful tips here would be to 1) go with 2+ kids unless you want your kid begging you to cram into a rocket ship with him. It's always fun to spend time with your child but your child really wants to play and so you'll need to bring a play buddy. 2) bring snacks and water! They do NOT sell food but if you plan on staying longer than an hour or two, you might as well bring something to eat. They have a couple of sticky (yuck but whatever) picnic tables you can eat at in the front of the venue. Not amazing but gets the job done. Of course, you can always sneak in some food inside the venue but it isn't allowed. 3) Every hour they have a "show" which consists of weird acting done by French teenagers on the boat downstairs. As another yelper said, I could have gone without it. BUT, the icing on the cake is that during this show, everyone congregates downstairs and you get the whole place to yourself :) There's a lot of parking as it's not downtown, it's in Laval. Bathrooms were pretty clean which is a plus. Oh, and I went on a weekday I wouldn't dare go here on a weekend.

Club PKL is a very nice pickleball facility located in the sud-ouest near downtown making it one of…read morethe most centrally located , and closest to the downtown core, pickleball clubs in Montreal. The facility is very well lit, has high ceilings and a good amount of space around the courts. Again making it one of the best facilities around. They have 6 playable courts and one training court. Although they advertise having 7 courts, you can't actually play a match on the 7th court as it has a very low ceiling. However, this court is good for warming up or drilling. As I've mentioned this facility is top notch. However, one thing I've noticed after playing there a few times during the summer is that the main area is not properly ventilated. I can see that they have large heaters in the space so I'm sure it is fine in the winter, but it appears to lack an adequate amount of fresh air circulation. So when the facility is full the air becomes quite humid and hot. The office area and fitness studios are in a full air conditioned area so there is no issue there. It is just the playing area that seems to be lacking in fresh air and air conditioning. Lastly the one major down side with Club PKL is the pricing structure. It's next to impossible to figure out and what I can figure out seems extremely expensive. Looking at the Play by Point app, Club PKL offers no less than 11 membership options. ‍ when you click on memberships on their website all you get is a list of hourly court fees of $64 or $72/ hour depending on the time of day. So the website isn't really very useful in helping you figure this all out. The way it works is that you pay for a membership, say $110/month for then"rock star" membership, which I figure must be the best one and then you pay court fees as well. For a "rock star" the fees are the lowest, $12.50/hour/player (assuming 4 players per court). So by my calculations if you play on average 3 times per week it would cost you over $5,000 per year to play pickleball at PKL. They are however very flexible when it comes to drop ins for non-members. I've seen last minute open play invites for as little as $10 but also for as much as $35, so it all seems pretty random which makes it a bit difficult to plan in advance.

I loved that they had a staff member at every station, for safety, to ask questions, to help guide you and to monitor that young children don't get hurt. Well thought out. I loved that they had so many options of activities to do but also a huge VIP space & option. Not only games but even spaces to have birthday parties. The food is great too ,especially the pizza! Prices are very reasonable. If you're looking for something to do on a Ped day,weekend, have a birthday party, team building activities or conferences this is the place you want to book with.
