I had some time running errands and popped back into GG to get my driver regripped. There was Casey and he said hello and couldn't be any kinder. As we were talking, he asked how my swing was and I told him it was better but I'm stuck in a couple of spots. Right there, he said let me see your swing....so I hit a couple of balls and he tweaked a couple of issues he saw. I was striping them and it was like a lightbulb went off. After all these years, he saw this one small error that produced major issues. I just couldn't believe he was able to see this issue and know this was the cause of my inconsistent shots. Amazing.....he's got a gift for sure. I got done with Casey and saw Billy again, and before you knew it, we were doing exercises to increase the legs and core. Billy couldn't be nicer and looked at my swing again to reinforce what Casey had found. AMAZING PLACE! I had a great experience with the Golf Galaxy in Orland Park. In the market for a retirement gift of a new set of clubs and GG was recommended by a few of my golf friends. So glad I followed their advise. I no longer hit the door and was greeted by a friendly associate. Since I've never shopped for golf clubs before, I was told I would need to set up a fitting appointment. I thought I would have to schedule a time and come back. Instead, I was introduced to Robert, who started the entire process on the spot with no waiting. The process was pretty amazing and Robert was very helpful. He tried out different club configurations and was very patient with me and all of my questions. He spent a lot of time with me in the simulator and explained all the different numbers, which helped guide me toward the set I would end up purchasing. Tried to give this place another chance, but this place never fails to disappoint. Went in to get my sons clubs lengthened. Was told they can't extend that brand (strata) because they don't make the extender piece. Turned around and called pga superstore, their like, of course they can be extended. Brought them in, 2 days later there all extended. I truly wish we could get a competent golf store on the south side.....cause this is far from it. read more

For my retirement I was given a golf galaxy gift certificate and a 40% off Taylor Made merchandise coupon. I went to the store a couple of times. I decided on Sim2 irons($799) I was told by a couple associates they had the match price policy. When I went to buy the clubs, Bob the store manager at Orland refused to honor the discount, saying they would make no money. In the future I would have bought more than enough merchandise to offset what they didn't make on the clubs. Apparently their Price Match is only a suggestion. I will never go back. read more

Came today for a Taylormade Club Fitting event. This place is a complete joke. The hitting bay was so small that I hit the ceiling on every shot. Literally could not swing the club without smashing it into the top. The simulator is completely inaccurate. One shot said I carried it 170 and it rolled over 100 yards. A shank apparently went 275 also. They only had fake rubber tees -- one which placed the ball two+ inches above the driver head and another that was way too low to hit driver. I can't believe this is how they handle sponsored events. What a joke. Hopefully my driver isn't damaged from hitting the ceiling. read more

I like coming to a store that focuses just on golf rather than the much smaller collection of golf paraphernalia you will find in a sporting goods store. That being said, I was looking for a Bears golfing hat with a full brim for my son in law for his birthday. They did not have it so I picked up one without a Bears logo on it. Later, I found what I was looking for online at a general sporting goods store. Go figure. Still, not a bad place for general shopping although I prefer pro shops at the courses themselves. read more

I was in the store to buy a Taylor made sim max 2 driver. They only had regular shafts for I need stiff. This is a brand new club but for what ever reason they had very little options for Taylor made. I asked the associate if I could switch a stiff shaft from one of the other Taylor made drivers seeing as how they were both new and was told no. I guess with covid they could care less about making customers happy. I called the pga store and asked the same questions and was told that was no problem, but they had plenty of the specific driver in stock. Don't waste your time. The store is outdated and sloppy. Just go to the pga store and save yourself the trouble read more

Most of the items here are pretty overpriced compared to online or competitors but the staff is extremely helpful and nice. I have purchased multiple items from this store and is my go to option to check out golf gear. Black Friday deals are pretty good and always get me in the store. read more

How rude! *in my Stephanie Tanner voice* I shop at Golf Galaxy regularly. Even though I live closer to the Orland store, I often travel to the Downers Grove store. Want to know why??? Because Tom Martin is a rude, angry pants. Yesterday while I was being helped by a very informative and pleasant sales associate; he barked at her to "Come here". He did not say excuse me or apologize to me even after I made it clear that I did not appreciate being treated in this manner. If he treated me, a paying customer, so rudely; I cannot fathom how the sales associated are being treated. He is rude, lacks leadership abilities and I am offended to be in his presence. I will driven an additional 25 miles to Downers Grove in the future. read more
