This is a nice course in the Forest Preserve group. The design is good and provides a challenge but…read moreconditions are spotty. Several tee boxes were completely torn up and the water drainage is not good. There is a project to re-do bunkers going on and the new ones are in excellent shape while the old is effectively ground under repair. Every hole has ball washers and towels though they're clearly for the back tees because there is so much separation in tee boxes. Some cart paths are rough but it's not a broad issue. The staff are decently nice but the starter/ranger (doing double duty) knocks the rating down. The beverage cart seemed to end early as it wasn't seen after the front nine for a 2pm tee time. Pace should be managed better as there were multiple backups of 10+ min sitting and doing nothing. Clubhouse has a pretty good selection of food and prices are reasonable. $7 for a deli sandwich, $5 PB&J, etc. Carts don't have GPS but does have a card with 6 pin positions for every hole that is very informative. I hope the carts are upgraded to eliminate tears and cigarette burns in the seats at some point. The course is visually appealing and presents a good challenge. It's a good value at $62 for a weekend afternoon but could be improved in some aspects. It's worth playing.

After leaving another store in Willowbrook that offered me no assistance or advice but just offered me an array of women's clubs that I was not able to try, I went back to Palos, kicking myself for not going there first. Within an hour an a half, I walked out of Palos Golf with a new set of men's senior clubs that we chose after I tried several different women's and then men's clubs, finding the perfect set and receiving a mini lesson that straightened out my ball instantaneously! I was able to take out of the set, any clubs I didn't need. Same prices or better than any stores I went to or looked at. All WITH the time and effort to get me into the right set of clubs. Mind you, I was ready and willing to spend more but thankfully, I was guided to what was best for ME. Consequently, I'll be spending a lot more money at Palos Golf! Thank you Brett!
