The course plays a bit over 6600 yds tipped out. I am a 4.5 and my wife a beginner at about a 34 I did tip it out and was extremely pleased of the playability and layout of this course. You want to take what it gives you on the front 9 and do your scoring on the back 9 I must admit we did have a lot of good course info provided by the golf staff prior to play. what an experience from the moment we arrived we could tell the staff was very proud of this Muni, well groomed and the greens were very nice for as hot as it was and the fact it was a city park course, with that said I am not giving due justice to this track. Would I play it again ABSOULUTLY. A little advice to long hitters playing from the tips DO NOT HIT Driver on number 2 even though I was warned before hand I failed to take the great advice given and left a Pro V1 out there LOL, Maybe with a little helping wind there would have been a different outcome. My advice is if you are a beginner or a seasoned golfer and visiting Fredericksburg Texas DO NOT PASS this one up. Unfortunately we were pretty hot and spent after our round and was not in the mood to eat and the restaurant but what we could see the burgers looked awesome. Also I must throw in the cart girl was absolutely beautiful.

Site 5 is absolutely the best site with direct views of the water but 6/7 (right next to one another so good for groups) and 8 are all lovely sites. Good tree cover and you can take the small trail down to the water for swimming/fishing. Each site has a fire pit and picnic table and lots of flat land for tents. For the hotel/restaurant, we stayed in K1 which has direct views of the water. These are not fancy rooms (no tvs or fancy furniture) but it was so relaxing and beautiful. The restaurant is good with a full bar and beautiful lake views.

The…read morefront 9 has some weird waste areas in front of the greens whereas if your ball doesn't roll down the fairway drops then your left up top with like a 155 yd shot into the greens over a huge waste area. Or else you have to chip it like 30 yds down the hill to have a decent second shot into the green. Not really a fan. Greens are good but sandy. Hopefully that'll go away in a few weeks. Bunkers are big and full of fluffy loose sand. The rough is thick and swallows up balls. Okay I guess.

What is so fun, is there is a local couple that have bought the place and are working on the place left and right! I love when local folks re-invest in their believes! Just like watching a great garden grow, you have to keep an eye on this place! The golf course is still fantastic with small improvements that have gone under hidden ways! The pool and children's pool has improved beyond belief! The menu and dishes keep being improved! The service is still top notch, very quick and very attentive with out over doing it! The new tennis courts are a great touch! To the sweet couple that bought the place and are putting your heart into this place, my hat's off to you both!
