Green is right on top of a hill with the club house just yards away. But you do see remnants of when this golf course was pretty tough (old bunkers filled in with grass, etc). This used to be a private course only open to military and club members, but they went public last year. The back nine gets very tricky though. 10th hole has a huge water hazard blocking the green. Hole 14 is a 200 yard par 3. And Hole 17 has enough jungle surrounding the green to call itself a rainforest. This course was designed by A.W. Tillinghast. He also designed Beth Page and Winged Foot. Maybe you've heard of those courses. I'll probably bring my clubs up for the rest of the summer to play a round or two here before the Fort moves to Maryland.

They run out of water end of July so the course falls into disrepair. The service at a county course is better. The staff don't know your name, they don't go out of their way to help you and it is almost impossible to fulfill you food minimums. The owner is in construction and clearly doesn't care about the club...he should sell the club to the members or someone who knows how to run a country club. This is not worth the money as a member or a guest.

Wonderful establishment!…read more Came in around 5:30 PM today and was greeted by the most attentive staff even before I knew where to go. They were very helpful, even saw that I was wearing my Army cap and mentioned the military discount before I had even said anything! They were great. I read some complaints on here about the "fetch it yourself" water hazards with the nets but I thought it added a neat aspect to the game. The course itself was well maintained for an outdoor course. The difficulty was just right where it should be for a family oriented place. Wasn't too hard that the kids in front of us couldn't play, but wasn't too easy for us older folk that it wasn't fun. All in all, a great course. The time we arrived there weren't many people there. So after our first 18 holes we stopped in the little cafe for a pizza. Prices weren't bad for pizza at a mini golf course but I was surprised how good the thin crust pizza was! Definitely hand made and baked just right. The food gave us good motivation to continue through another round. Our second round was only $3 per person, how could we pass that up? By this time it was getting later in the evening, around 6:30 so it started getting crowded quick! We were definitely lucky to make it there so early to avoid the crowed. Had a great time here, definitely looking forward to coming back and hopefully seeing the awesome staff again!!

I don't mean to be negative but it's just green turf with a hole and maybe some brightly painted rocks and a Ton of mosquitos...No theme to the mini golf course, no holes that had any sort of obstacles other than don't let your ball fall into the Gatorade-blue water. It is 18 holes, it is inexpensive and they did have bug spray when you got there. We had fun!

Noticed no review in 2019. Here's an update…read more. Course is in spectacular shape this year. I played 5x in 2019. Greens are well kept and pretty fast for a muni. Bunker sand is soft. Rough is just thick enough to penalize a wayward shot. With a county card you can get tee times if you are diligent about logging onto the website at exactly 8pm 7 days before you want to play. If you are 10 minutes late, you are out of luck, period. It is worth mentioning the elderly starter with the shaved head is a nightmare. You won't play here without having an unpleasant encounter with him at some point.

I'm a…read moregood recreational golfer that has played a lot of courses, both public and private and I've never encountered the bossiness, rudeness, and ignorance I saw here recently. Starter was a dismissive weasel that made me stand there for 5 full minutes while he dorked around with whatever he was doing and didn't acknowledge me standing there while I tried to check in. I finally interrupted his power move and told him I was going to the range to hit some balls and he could come and get his 1:15 and check me in when he was ready. The nincompoop started stammering while trying to maintain his power pose but I walked away. 3 times the "rangers" came out to our group to scold us for bogus "reasons". "You're 20 minutes behind pace". So, that's our fault that the group ahead made us wait to hit a few times? Do you even know how golf works? There was never even a player or group behind us at any time during our round. "Well, it's my job to come out here and tell everyone they're behind pace". What a bunch of self-important ignorant geezers. Fire them. I'm also contacting the Monmouth County Commissioners and letting them know what's going on here.

There was a water/lemonade station set up but it was abit too cold/windy for that. It got dark real fast mid-service and wished there was lighting available. Good thing the photographer had 1 light pole for pic to shine on the couple but other than that, it was cold and dark sitting there for the ceremony. Spacious and clean hall. Cocktail hour was also in the same space as dinner. I believe the ceremony started late and ran late; so the passed hors d'oeuvres was already available for us hungry guests. Trays of hors d'oeuvres and champagne greeted us when we stepped inside from the ceremony. Dinner was good and decent portion size. I believe the staff was short staffed as they weren't available to refill water glass and check on the table as much. They did a few initial check (before/and after meal) but not visibly seen as much. Overall, I enjoyed my evening here. Oh yeah, only noticed the next day that we never got the platter of cookies/brownies for the table at the end with our slice of wedding cake. Noticed it on the menu but none was given. Left 10min before party end and nada. Maybe they packaged it all up and gave it to the couple.

Pretzel Bites - This time they had a honey mustard and regular cheese sauce. The honey mustard was pleasant, but the cheese sauce was thick, and force was really needed to get through to break it. Fiesta Nachos - This had tortilla chips with roasted sweet corn, queso, Pico de Gallo, jalapeno, lime crema, and avocado crema. We also added steak. This was the best item of the night. The steak was tasty and there was a nice blend of ingredients mixed in. Cheesy Macaroni Bites - This was fried macaroni and cheese. I do not remember ranch being served, but the tomato sauce was not bad. They were nicely fried, but they were just okay. Hot Honey Pepperoni Pizza - This was alright. The crust was not very flavorful and cooked enough. There needed to be a bit more of a hot honey presence. Boneless Buffalo Wings - The Buffalo sauce powerful, but solid quality and nice cook on the chicken. Bone-In Wings - I had the BBQ, Buffalo, and Asian sesame flavors. The Asian sesame had a little kick, something about these intrigued me. The BBQ was a little sweet, probably due to the Dr Pepper addition? There was a little inconsistency on the wings as some needed to be a little crispier. Buffalo Chicken Dip - This was very cheesy. It needed a little more buffalo sauce, but good chunks of chicken present.

I'm like OK so you can't accommodate more than 20 people with carts? Do you not have enough carts? do you need more carts? No apologies no consideration for the delay. No discount no offerings? so I gotta say I'm disappointed in you, Marine Park. Let's do better. Having said that, I just finished my round and I must say that the pace of play was excellent.
