They don't return calls for weeks at a time, they are unprofessional and very grossly mishandled me as a client and my case.

My divorce experience was astoundingly hard, to say the least -- way more complex and difficult…read morethan I ever would have anticipated on every level. Without the expertise, professionalism, and integrity of Ms. Harvey and Ms. Ward, I'm certain that my outcome could have been far less favorable. I appreciated their transparency, sincerity, responsiveness and encouragement in helping me to establish realistic expectations and perspective, as well as coaching me through a process that was entirely foreign and distressing to me. They complement each other as a team, balancing confidence and efficiency with patience and empathy. At times, they stopped me from making foolish mistakes. Surely, step by step, they gained and kept my trust -- even through the most unsettling obstacles and curve balls -- by consistently demonstrating confidence, skill and proficiency in navigating every challenge through the process. Of course, quality legal services are expensive, which is an added stressor on top of numerous additional ways in which a divorce disrupts your life. They were conscious and respectful of this impact in important ways. I respect that family law is a profession where it can be particularly challenging to strike a balance between seeing your customer as both a "person" and a "client". Overall, they accomplish this impressively, with only one or two times (in 16 months) when I would have liked to have seen a slight adjustment in this balance. My divorce has been final one year today, and I am grateful. I remember how unsettling the task of choosing a lawyer was -- especially regarding matters so deeply personal and significant. I couldn't allow myself to continue reflecting and moving forward without finally making time to share my experience.

Clearly there is a pattern with this law firm as evident from their other reviewers and my review…read morewill only be reinforcing it. After 18 months of engaging with this firm from late 2022 to 2024, I finally decided to part ways and switch attorneys (who saw me through my divorce) and below are reasons why. 1. When I first got started with this process, I was naive, uneducated and anxious. You would think that your attorney would help educate you, and make you feel at ease. Instead, firm's namesake constantly instilled fear and threatened me with adverse outcomes even when there was no basis for it. I know better now! It's like her way of covering for her own inadequacies and her way or the highway. FWIW, I got the custody that I wanted and deserved. 2. You will be billed A LOT for research without being given any estimates and the worst part, is it wouldn't help improve your outcome one bit. Happy to provide examples for anyone that wants. 3. Your case will be assigned to a very expensive and inexperienced associate who has no decision making or strategy making authority but in fact you will be charged every time for her to get direction from the firms owner/partner. Totally convoluted process. 4. Where other law firms actively utilize paralegals or legal assistants for administrative items, the Associate will do all that at a much higher billable rate. 4. The firm's partner will tell you how she has 20+ years of experience but will have petitions thrown out by the judge for being deficient or inaccurate including petitions for rules that I was billed a $900 for. They will even fail to share with you motions filed by OC months after being filed with the court. Does this constitute malpractice? 5. Even after repeatedly bringing up various concerns, they fell to a deaf ear and went ignored while I kept getting billed for things that don't matter. Eventually that led me to firing them. I am sure she will try to discredit this review like she does with all her other 1 star reviews but I am prepared to share specific examples if needed to stand by my review with them or with anyone reading this review. There is a reason for their overall 2.9 stars while others have 4-5 stars. If in doubt, you can also read reviews on Avo.

It is no surprise that he is an award-winning attorney and so highly spoken of within the legal community; his work absolutely reflects his stellar reputation. From the very beginning, Zach was the epitome of professionalism. He is honest, ethical, transparent, and fair--qualities that are incredibly important when you're navigating a difficult legal situation. He works tirelessly for his clients, and his dedication is evident in the results he achieves. In just six months, Zach was able to accomplish what my previous counsel couldn't get done in over a year. I am beyond happy that I hired him as my attorney. My only regret is that I didn't find him sooner. If you are looking for an elite lawyer who is effective, hardworking, and operates with the utmost integrity, you have found him in Zachary Hunsinger. I look forward to working with him again on any non-family-related civil matters in the future. His paralegal Randy is also stellar. She is great to work with, compassionate, and responsive. It was a pleasure having this firm in my corner throughout the entire process.

Most have been competent, helpful, professional, and knowledgeable in their field. This law firm from my experience was beyond ghastly. I was looking for a post nup agreement that was in the 7 figures. Seems not a ton of legal firms do post nups and there are many many legal firms that are not worth a lick of salt. I found this firm online - perhaps the many red flags that were noted prior to my consultation should have been enough to persuade me to run away but I foolishly didn't. That is on me. The initial consultation attorney Rachel Sternik didn't show up for. The receptionist Giselle in my experience is a bit of a conceited brute - very hard to understand her in the first place, poor grammar, and highly rude and conceited from my standpoint. If you can't manage being professional and listening to a client's concerns then don't work in this area. Rachel did bother to show up on our second consultation - it seemed that she was falling asleep for most of it, and she was unprofessionally dressed - wearing a flannel shirt. I explicitly told her that time was of the essence and I needed this document completed promptly and would only hire the firm if they could complete this in a timely manner. She assured me she was experienced with post nups and she could have it ready within 5 days and then would contact the other party to finalize things. The post nup was even already written so shouldn't take an experienced attorney a long time to do this. A long time went by and nothing. I wrote her and received no response. Red flag - why is it that attorneys don't get that clients need prompt communication and replies? I called - I had the unfortunate experience of talking to Giselle who I can understand maybe 1/10th of what she says particularly through her rude and condescending attitude. She told me she would let Rachel know that I had called (I guess Rachel doesn't even care to read her emails?). She replies and tells me how she's sooo busy (as a director I'm busy but go figure I have time to do my job and respond to others - what a concept!!!!). So she tells me there are some issues with the document I sent, fine, she can make an appt or fix it and let me know. As a busy director I told her she could fix it and send it for review after she was done. Wrote multiple subsequent emails trying to figure out what was going on - weeks went by and nothing! No response from Rachel. What kind of attorney refuses/fails to reply to their clients on documents worth near 7 figures that need prompt resolution? I call yet again after weeks of being ghosted by Rachel - I again get condescending receptionist Giselle - instead of having the thought process of doing some service recovery as any professional would do, she goes on to tell me how it is, how Rachel is too busy, etc. I FEEL Rachel is utterly incompetent - so I said if this attorney cannot do the job she was paid to do, since they didn't even bother to apologize, rectify the situation or complete the work in a timely fashion I just want my money back. Pompous Giselle tells me I am not getting my money back, Rachel won't reply to me on the day I called, she's too busy to take care of my requests, talks over me as she's mocking and laughing - this is the type of individual this law firm handles? I ask for the managing partner's name and contact info - she tells me she will send it and then refuses to do so. What kind of petty unprofessional demeanor is that? And on of course in typical legal manner, Zachary Hunsinger, managing partner sends me multiple emails demanding payment - despite the fact that his attorney Rachel is not responding, has not provided a single completed document/task, has failed to provide any answers to my questions. I even wrote him the day prior to me calling the law firm saying hey the attorney is ghosting me. His reply? he will delay the billing date. I even wrote the law firm and him to express my dissatisfaction with their unprofessional and horribly poor legal services, lack of communication, and overall awful behavior - to him just reply that he will refund me. ZERO accountability of how they screwed up and were simply an embarrassment to the legal profession. And of course no apologies to how their brute of a receptionist behaves and mistreats their paying clients. What an embarrassment these people are. No I would not recommend Rachel Sternik or Zachary Hunsinger - failed to do what I paid for, unprofessional, unaccountable. I guess you get what you pay for in the legal world - I FEEL they are a tiny dumpy unprofessional legal office - silver lining Im glad I FIRED them and they won't be handling my almost 7 figure post nup. Luckily I was able to retain a successful large law firm in the Chicagoland who literally within a day is being more helpful than this abysmal place was in week

There are multiple arms as to this agency that you have to deal with just to get a document served, as to the actual process server, the "intake" person taking the requests, and separate billing department. The service is also not on par; when they tried to serve a simple 5-day notice to multiple tenants at a unit, they did not serve a party I listed because their process server blindly took the word of the tenant that such separate co-tenant was deceased (rather than, at the time of the representation, confirming with me whether I wanted them to trust the assertion of the tenant). Their accounting, in particularly, is overly complicated. They use an internal payment platform that is extremely confusing. You also get billing long after the service is performed, which makes it difficult to pinpoint the cost for your client. I have been attempting to work with them to give them a chance, but even after I had to leave them and, in good-faith, am attempting to cover any outstanding balances, the invoices I am just receiving are still confusing. Overall very frustrating.

Trial concluded on March 18, 2026.* Attorneys who appeared on this case through Cole Sadkin: Mason Cole, Michael Krzywicki, James Cook, and Judith Kott Cole Sadkin represented the opposing party in my civil case for sexual assault and battery in Cook County Circuit Court. I was a pro se litigant who, despite the tactics and conduct I experienced throughout litigation, ultimately obtained a six-figure jury verdict in my favor. This review is a warning about the professionalism and litigation conduct I personally observed from this firm. Over the course of litigation, multiple attorneys cycled in and out of the case. The handling of the matter often felt disorganized, hostile, and unnecessarily aggressive - far beyond zealous advocacy. One of the most disturbing moments involved attorney Judith Kott's characterization of my deposition testimony. During my deposition, counsel specifically asked whether I was "going in and out of consciousness" because I was falling asleep. I answered: "No. It is because he was strangling me." Despite that clear testimony, Ms. Kott later argued to the Court that I had testified I was going in and out of consciousness because I had been drinking heavily. She used that mischaracterization to argue that my memory was unreliable due to alcohol consumption. That was not my testimony, and the transcript reflects that in black and white. Ms. Kott also repeatedly insinuated that I must have had "secret counsel" assisting me behind the scenes because, apparently, the idea that a pro se litigant could effectively litigate a case against experienced attorneys was not something she was prepared to accept. The reality is that I did my own work, learned the law, prepared my own filings, and tried my own case myself. As litigation became increasingly hostile, attorney James Cook began including my abuser directly on communications with me. I ultimately had to tell him myself that the practice was inappropriate and eventually felt the need to bring the issue to the Court's attention. The firm also objected to nearly every one of my motions in limine that were ultimately granted by the Court, including motions barring attempts to use prior sexual encounters as evidence of consent to the assault at issue, and motions barring a contributory negligence defense, implying that a victim has some duty to proactively prevent another person from physically or sexually assaulting them. At another point, an attorney from the firm sent a lengthy argumentative email directly to the judge attempting to litigate issues outside proper procedure, prompting the Court to remind counsel that the parties were not to litigate through email communications. I was genuinely astounded by the level of unprofessionalism I experienced from this firm. Even setting aside my concerns about litigation conduct, I would not hire this firm based on competence alone. Again, this is not sour grapes from a losing party. I won. This review exists because people deserve to know what kind of conduct they may encounter when dealing with this firm.

From our very first meeting, Zaid and the entire team were a breath of fresh air. They were full of energy, took my situation seriously, and made me feel genuinely cared about and validated. From the beginning, communication was extremely poor between the attorney, front office staff, and myself. Calls and emails were often not returned, and I was regularly left without updates on my case. There were also issues with paperwork and communications being mishandled. At times, I was told I was being untruthful about not receiving communications, which was frustrating and unprofessional. Documents and emails were also sent improperly, raising concerns about organization and confidentiality. What was most disappointing was feeling like I had to do much of the work myself just to keep my case moving forward. I constantly had to follow up, track information down, and push for progress instead of feeling properly represented and supported. Overall, the experience caused unnecessary stress during an already difficult situation. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this law office to others seeking workers' compensation representation. I still ended up filling a complaint against the attorney who handled my case, paralegal and the owner with the ARDC because of the way I was treated by them all during my case and how they refused to assist me with information about the case afterwards.
