Gold's Gym Newburgh offers a wide variety of equipment, including plenty of free weights, machines, and cardio options, along with bonus features like a pool, boxing area, racquetball courts, indoor track, and even a cardio cinema. For anyone focused on training variety, it checks a lot of boxes. However, the layout feels cramped, especially in the locker rooms, which are tight on space with a limited number of showers. While saunas and steam rooms are listed as amenities, they are no access right now. Bathrooms are available and generally clean, but like the rest of the facility, they're often in high demand. Parking is available via a lot and nearby lot, but it fills up quickly during peak hours. Lately, the biggest issue has been overcrowding. There's been a noticeable influx of members, especially in the evenings, making it tough to get through a workout efficiently. Long waits for popular equipment, limited space to move around, and packed locker areas all add up to a less enjoyable experience. While the gym has the foundation of a great training space, the congestion and tight layout make it harder to get the most out of your session. It's a solid option if you're flexible with workout times--but not ideal if you're looking for convenience and comfort during busy hours. read more

The gym is very large. Lots of equipment including sauna (men's side, women's is under construction), jacuzzi and heat pool. I hardly ever have to wait for equipment to do my workouts. read more

I work out here at least 4x a week. The machines are varied and mostly operational, the Neverending construction, only 1 of 2 toilets working in the temporary womens locker room. What next? I attend the water work out and Mrs. Renee is a very good teacher. I en joy taking her classes. I mainly come when she's teaching.

This gym has become my second home. As someone who's passionate about fitness, I appreciate having a place where I can focus without distractions. The staff is friendly, the members are respectful, and there's a great variety of equipment. I've made so much progress training here, and that says a lot. Overall, it's a good gym. Good size, decent amount of equipment, fair prices. However, I personally have some issues with this location. Some things that truly make my experience uncomfortable. The biggest issue is that the gym is constantly crowded. It doesn't matter what day, what time of day, there's always going to be a lot of people there. If there's anywhere you're going to catch an airborne of illness, this is it. There seems to be a ton of people working during the day to enroll members. I feel like they would never say enough is enough with all these members joining. I know they're there to make money, but aren't they also there for their members to feel comfortable? Without exaggeration, any time I go there it feels like I'm in a small overcrowded mall. Often the machines don't work. There's forever problems with the treadmills and constant issues with the treadmills that have the TVs. And if you are a person that watches TV (if it's actually working), channels are extremely limited. There's probably 15 channels available, most of them sports, which may be great for some people. Not my cup of tea. A selection of more channels would really be fantastic. Although some of the equipment is very modern, some of it is also very outdated. Some members are just downright dirty and or rude. I was there recently and the woman on the treadmill next to me kept repeatedly wiping sweat off of herself with her shirt. With every wipe she would throw her shirt (sweat side down) onto the machine where people normally place their hands and drinks. I understand people sweat, but you're absolutely disgusting if you don't take three seconds to take to wipe down the machine when you're done using and sweating all over it. One of the good things about the Gym is that they supply cleaning wipes in multiple locations. This girl literally had to walk 20 feet to get the wipe. But instead, she walked away. Disgusting. But it's not just limited to her. Half the people there that don't take the time to wipe the machines, even if they've been laying on them sweating. Theres always grunting, groaning, yelling, gym bags on the floor, people sitting on machines on their phones, people constantly taking videos and pictures of themselves (even though the gym has a dedicated room for people to take pictures ). There's some people that go in groups and do literally everything together. You'll find there's a cluster of people on one or two machines. If you go at night, it's younger people who are basically there looking to impress each other. The women spend more time in the bathrooms primping then they do in the gym. If you go in the morning, it's the older ladies that stand in a group around equipment talking or they walk very slowly around the track in a row talking, blocking everyone behind them. Sometimes their conversation gets so interesting that they just dead stop in the middle of the track. It's the same group of women. It's like a little social club. I think that's great for these ladies socialize, but do it in the area is meant for that. I understand that the owners are limited on what they can do as far as how people behave, but perhaps if they had some of those people working enrollment can walk the floor more often. Perhaps members might be a bit more respectful. And post some rules somewhere, please! This place could actually be the perfect gym if they updated their equipment, got more staff on the floor, considered longer hours and stopped with the never-ending enrollment of members. Oh, and turn down the music sometimes it's so loud I can still hear the music with my headphones, turned all the way up. Again, it's not a bad Gym by any means it just needs work. And "as is" may be just fine for some people. If you aren't bothered by crowds, broken/outdated equipment, people taking photographs/videos of themselves and sweaty equipment you might consider this a fantastic gym. started to go to the gym about 7 months ago and I didn't know where to start. I found out the classes were free and know I am there 5 days a week in classes. i also have a son who is 3 and he goes to kids club, he absolutely loves it. the fact that he is happy while I get a great workout in make me even happier! highly recommen for any mom trying to get to the gym!
