Gym itself is ok, solid variety of machines but nothing special. When I moved out of cedar park they made it absolutely impossible to cancel. They don't accept cancellation over email, phone, or website, and then they make it difficult through every single step. Go somewhere else. read more

The proximity is great and the wider array of training equipment without the political shaming (if you make noise or lift big weights - think planet fitness). Good gyms are hard to come by! Great gyms are few and far between... I would call this gym freaking amazing!!! The staff at this location is no doubitly in my top 5 in the nation! There are a team in every sense of the word! Amazing staff! Clean and sanitized at all times! Service above and beyond expectations at all times! Well maintained and serviced equipment! terrible gym, like seriously. back in 2020, they were one of the first gyms to shut down to the public. Crazily, they still charged me my membership fee even after prohibiting access to the facility. to top it off, calling to cancel is basically impossible. they want to charge you over $100 to CANCEL the membership. I thought that was outrageous, and to make it even BETTER they sent a collection agency after me. I should've taken them to court just for the sole purpose of giving me such a shitty experience. don't ever go here or sign up for a membership as they're the most impractical stupid gym in the area read more

Had to cancel my membership when I moved out-of-state. Gold's Policy (or so I'm told) is to keep charging you membership fees for the next 30 days, even after they have been informed that you no longer use the facility. According to one of the managers there (Carey Wood)...I was told that they do it because "all the gyms in the country do it." ++++ I was informed (after a couple of corresponding emails) that they processed my cancellation according to the date I specified, but that they would STILL continue to bill me for another "30 day billing cycle." And that itself doesn't even make sense, because their billing cycle is actually every "2 weeks" (not 30 days)...and they know I won't be using their service. So they are billing those who cancel for an additional "2" billing cycles. ++++ This "might" be legal, I don't know about that. But I can say for certain that it is immoral. To charge someone (for two additional billing cycles) for a service they know is not being used is just plain wrong. And instead of falling back on the excuse that "all other gyms are doing it"...Gold's should step-up and be different. However, the "free" money (for a service not used) is apparently way to enticing. ++++ An honest gym would "not" charge you for another solid month after you cancel. So read all the fine print before you signup. There may be other little details that might make you look elsewhere for your workout needs. read more

I'm 40lbs lighter than I was when my bariatric surgeon asked me to lose 25lbs in prep for surgery. I dreaded walking into Gold's Gym Cedar Park and I felt sorry for the trainer asked to work with an overweight 61yr old Grandmother. Nhan Spencer took me on joyfully with a smile on her face. And, Gold's provided a "judgement free" space with friendly members who were always so encouraging. The first three weeks of training was anything but easy, however my body responded so fast, in such a positive way, that I found myself adding more sessions during the week. Fairly soon, I was able to accomplish more reps with more weight. Cardio is much easier! Now, it's harder to get my heart rate up, and it recovers so fast, that I have to really push to maintain the weight-loss heart rate! Journaling my food intake taught me how to assign calories to food choices allowing me to make healthier selections when I eat out. I've never felt hungry and it hasn't been hard to change my habits! I credit Nhan Spencer with this success! My training sessions were educational and more similar to physical therapy than pounding iron, like I imagined. My doctor is pleased with the improvements in my LABS and I've felt better than I have in a long, long time. Bariatric surgery is no longer a consideration. Nhan trains all age groups and has clientele that has trained with her for years. Nhan gets it! She cares and she's motivating. I will join her family of long-term clients going forward! I can't recommend her highly enough. Try a few sessions with her to find out for yourself! read more

I gave this gym one star for three reasons: 1) My husband cancelled our membership and they continued to charge us for several months. They would not reimburse the extra charges and forced me to physically walk in to cancel when he had already done so. 2) The kids were picking up colds and viruses from the kid area. I was a previous Golds member when I lived in Houston. This Golds is bigger than most I've been to and honestly pretty well kept. Not sure where all the dirty comments are coming from (go to a LA Fitness and you'll see dirty). Each visit, I saw a cleaning person present and wiping down. I came twice as a guest and was promptly greeted with a smile. Tried to pay for my visits and was offered a guest pass instead to accommodate me while I was in town. There was no pressure and both the front desk personnel and mgmt were great and very inviting. This gym has plenty of equipment and I never had a hard time doing what I needed (came during my am rush). Also, they have a pool, wet and dry saunas, which is nice. This place is a gem in my book. Also, any gyms of fitness centers are going to have cancellation policies (I'm a current member of LA, 24 and Anytime, travel a lot. I've cancelled a membership from all at one point or another). When I cancelled my last Golds membership (6 months ago) it was pretty simple. I didn't call the gym, but called ABC who's the financial company. One call, done! Cody asked horrible and insensitive questions about me and my career, the membership was confusing and every time I agreed he'd add on more fees. This Gold's Gym location is a bit on the smaller side which seems to be the new blueprint for Gold's Gyms being built. They have added an additional Squat rack which helps. During prime time this gym gets quite crowded however. They do keep it fairly clean and the machines seem to be in working order for the most part. It would be nice if they added more benches to the dumbell area. They have the same amenities as most Gold's which includes basketball, lap swimming, spin classes, cinema cardio room, large room for group fitness classes, and I think they have another room for like Yoga or quiet meditation. This location also offers a smoothie bar which I've never tried, but something somewhat unique. I would probably come to this location more if it weren't so crowded, and if the free weight area was a little larger. read more

I'll start with the positive; they have some really friendly staff. Now for the negative. Locker rooms are usually unkept. Sales team is overbearing and not trained on how to really help close people into a proper training program. And what really got under my skin is when our son was visiting us for a few days while on leave from his service with the US Air Force, I brought him to workout with me. They wanted $50 just so he can workout with me for one day. Granted it was a week's pass, but we just wanted to get one workout in together during his short stay home. You would think they would offer some flexibility to help out someone who serves our country and only makes a very small wage for doing so. $20 is not enough to let someone defending your freedom workout at your gym, you want $50. I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

Avoid Gold's Gym in Cedar Park near Whitestone whatever you do! They lied about the cost of the membership & helped themselves to a higher price with auto pay. They lied about the cancellation policy & charged an extra 60 days after cancelling. They were so rude, condescending & unimaginably awful to our entire family. When we asked to talk to a Manger every time they said he was not there (many times - nope not here - either at the other location or not working at all). They promised the Manager would call us - lied about that too - he never called. The convenience of Gold's Gym Cedar Park (off Whitestone) is not worth the terrible staff at EVERY level & complete lack of Managers to resolve the problems caused by the inept could care less extremely rude staff. read more

I cancelled in person, and they still keep charging me, over a month later. They're simply out to make money, no matter who it damages. Run as fast as you can. OK Where to start...... First, I purchase my first membership with Gold's at the Round Rock location which I loved. I moved to Cedar Park and started to use their gym which is in a nice location. I had my first membership for 7 years at Round Rock and only worked out a couple times since my first incident. The over pressure of sales and constant calls to get my "free" analysis was overbearing but I tried to be nice and let them know I wasn't interested. The second issue caused me to cancel my membership. My wife was 9 months pregnant and we found out our child was inverted. As and effort to try to get him to turn the proper direction before his birth it was advised by the Dr to stand upside down in a pool for a few minutes at a time. Our neighborhood pool was closed, which she was using during the day, and I when I went to work out I thought to bring her with me to try the pool at Gold's. Needless to say, in order for her to get a guest pass she needed to sit through a sales pitch. I told them she only needed to use the pool. Essentially they wouldn't do it without her sitting through a sales presentation about joining the gym. I cancelled the very next day. 3 years later...... I got tired of using the small Anytime fitness in our neighborhood and decided to give Gold's a second shot. And, I even signed up my wife since her work location changed and she was closer to this Gold's. 2 months of working out and no issues....... 3rd issue.....My oldest son decided to move back home after a small stint at his mothers house while getting ready to attend college. I got him a membership at Gold's for athletics reasons in which we got the full sales pitch about him needing a trainer. We politely refused and since, we've been hounded with calls about needing proof that he lives with me. They want proof from a piece of mail with my address on it. He doesn't have a credit card, he doesn't pay the bills, he doesn't have magazine subscriptions, so where the hell am I supposed to pull a piece of mail from. His drivers license has his mothers address since he was living with her. So now they want me to pay more for is membership and initiation fee for his membership to continue. Besides that, Gold's is holding a promotional $0 enrollment. I paid $10 for his enrollment. Plus I'm paying the same amount monthly (sorry Bi-weekly since they changed their policy to juice more money out of people) as I am paying for myself and my wife. Where is the savings? There is none! So why the hell give me a hard time about a piece of mail when they are getting the same "bi-weekly" payment as if my son would have signed up by himself. Once my contract is up I am officially done with all Gold's Gym. Their high pressure sales and sleezy policy's are ridiculous. I would rather drive 10 minutes more and pay $100 more a month for Lifetime fitness than this place. Get a clue Gold's....people just want a nice place to workout, not a high pressure sales fiasco that we have to deal with all day. It's supposed to be a stress free place! read more

Do not sign up with them! Ever! They don't give you a print of the contract you sign, they don't let you read it nor do they even tell you how to properly terminate your membership. They will give you a huge run around. I went in there to terminate my membership, I had to bring a written letter stating that I no longer want my membership or be auto-enrolled into a month-to-month program even after my contract was over. Even after I spoke to the manager who seemed like a stand up guy, he said he resolved everything for me but guess what? He put more charges onto my account. The employees are rude, the managers lied to my face & worst of all, the General Manager is a straight snake. Lied to my face while grinning. By far the worst experience I've ever had with a business point blank. Check their BBB rating, its 1 star for a reason. I filed a complaint with them with apparently 300+ other people. Do not go there. Amber the manager is extremely rude. I spent thousands of dollars there with a personal trainer. The trainer was awesome but had to leave because the gym is run so poorly. After spending thousands of dollars they gave me the run around on canceling my membership. I was not in a contract. I talked with them in Nov 2017 and it was supposedly cancelled. Then they auto drafted another payment in January. I'm went back to the gym to see what happened and they told me it was not cancelled and now they are charging me another $140. They say they can't give me any proof today that I'm canceling because it's not in their system yet! read more

I joined this gym 2 weeks ago. I paid for 1 year membership up front. One question I had before joining was could I bring a guest a times. I was told yes, as 30 day guest and 1 day guest passes are available, but the guest would need to spend just a few minutes with a salesperson. This was agreeable for me as I do understand it's a business. I'm 47 years old and it's been years since I've worked out. I have a personal trainer who is a friend and competes at a national level in body building. She is currently not available to train me, but was nice enough to write me a 4 day training program. I did not understand the workouts and needed help also with establishing the amount of weight to use and proper form. My son (recently out of the military) has a friend who is off on leave from the Marines and who is into body building offered to help me out. I took him with me on my first visit to the Golds Gym that I had just paid 1 year up front membership to. After standing at the counter for a few minutes to get assisted the General Manager Aaron came out to assist me. I told him I was here to start my first workout. He cut me off and instructed me to swipe my access card and enjoy the gym. I informed him that I brought a guest with me to assist me in getting started, again I was cut short and was provided a run down of several trainers and their qualifications to train me. I appreciated his offer and advised him if the idea I'm working on doesn't work, I may need to look into one of his trainers. I asked him if I could get a guest pass, in hopes of obtaining a free one like his salesperson had informed me I could receive before paying for my membership. He immediately began to try and sale my guest a membership, I can once gain appreciate his eagerness to sell as it is a business. My guest informed General Manager Aaron that he was on leave from the Marines and was being deployed in 10 days. Aaron informed me that a 30 day pass was $30 and a 1 day pass was $15. I didn't question the difference in policy between what the salesman told me and what the General Manager is now telling me 2 days apart. I paid the $15. At the end of the first workout, we decided that I needed more help. My Marine friend returned with me the next day. General Manager Aaron in formed me that I needed to pay the additional $15 for my guest who would not even be here for another 30 days, but less than 10 days. I paid the additional $15 without any resistance. That evening I tell my son who has had a membership at this location for the past 7 months about the guest pass confusion. He informed me that he has obtained 4 passes for no charge for 4 different people. Tonight, my son, his friend and I go up to Golds Gym, he scanned his card, and his friend was waived thru without signing a book or seeing a salesperson. I forgot some cash to buy a protein shake for post work out. I went back to my vehicle and returned. One young couple was signing in and a different young couple was there as the girl was a guest and she too was waived in. Why does this gym practice double standards and disregard polices that they have in place? Is it convenience of taking money from clients who thy feel they can get it from? General Manager Aaron my name is Lonnie Plank, I will be at gym tomorrow. Aaron, do you make this right? Or kick me out with a refund? Felt like I was working out at rec center, there were so many people in this gym. Couldn't get to any machines with standing right next to someone, I wasn't even able to finish my workout. The set up of the equipment makes it looks clutter, would never go here again thank god for free passes. read more
