The women‑only room at Gold's Gym is like discovering a quiet side inside a very loud video game. You step out of the main gym, where plates cling and clang, mirrors flex back at you, and someone is always deadlifting like they are an Olympic qualifier. Out of no where ...quiet...absolute quiet. This space feels intentionally designed for women. The equipment is well‑chosen, practical, and not confiscated by someone powering through workout sets. You can actually get through a workout without feeling rushed, stared at, or compelled to guard your weights like a like a mall guard on Black Friday. The environment reeks supportive but blissfully low‑pressure. No grunting (what's up with this anyways?), no unsolicited feedback, no awkward competing for time on a machine. Just people showing up, doing their thing, and letting everyone else do the same. It's refreshing especially on days when you want to train hard without navigating distractors in the main portion of the gym. It's also a confidence builder. You are not competing with hundreds of people. You are lifting heavy weights, learning new movements, or easing back into your tried and true routine. The women-only room is judgment‑free and welcoming. No one's watching you. You are doing what you came to do...workout!

They have definitely given this place an upgrade since the last time I came here. It's fresher and neater overall. The staff has always been nice, and the machines tend to be clean. Most members have the courtesy to wipe their machines and dumbells down right after using them, I know I do. There are a lot of features this location has that I do not use. There's an indoor basketball court, which I think is important in Texas, the high was 86 today and we're only in March. They have a women's only section for workouts too. And now there is a sauna that's available for use! I would have definitely given that a go had I planned ahead of time.

Parking is an absolute mess, especially in January/February when everyone's trying to keep those resolutions going. Signing up for classes on the app is a mystifying experience -- I try to sign up a few days early, and the app says I can't sign up yet; then I sign up just before class, and it says I'm too late. So I rarely/never sign up for classes -- this doesn't seem to be a deal-breaker. I am really into dance fitness, though, and if you ever go on a Tuesday evening and see Disney World-style lines wrapped around the building, you know that Jay is teaching "So You Think You Can't Dance." I don't know how to adequately express how wonderful these classes are. Come in whatever mood you're in, and you'll leave with a smile on your face. His dance class has been seriously life changing for me, and I'm so grateful to have them at Crunch!

In my gym going experience, it was/is constantly overcrowded during those times. I signed up for Crunch to be able to take the workout classes - The only time of day where I was able to take these classes were in the evening times. The Legendary Strength class with Coach Blue was by far the most challenging and upbeat class. Highly recommend his class for anyone looking for a tough and fabulous workout! Unfortunately, I took most of my classes with Charmaine. I was really disappointed with my experience in classes led by this instructor. She was constantly off, beat and off tempo, which made it difficult to follow along - especially in a group setting where timing is important. The music was also blasting so loudly over her mic that it was hard to hear any of her cues or instructions. On top of that, Charmaine rarely demonstrated the exercise clearly, so I often wasn't sure if I was doing the movements correctly. Overall, her classes felt confusing and frustrating, I didn't feel like I was getting a safe or productive workout. In my opinion, other instructors in the gym were much better, but my experience with Charmaine as an instructor was constantly disappointing.

I was reminded by Sergi to return a farmer's rack to its proper place, which I understand and take responsibility for. Once it was explained, I made it clear that I would follow protocol moving forward. However, what I found unnecessary was the constant follow up through text messages. Even after acknowledging the issue and agreeing to correct it, I continued to receive a second reminder. At that point, it stopped feeling like a simple clarification and started to feel like harassment. On top of that, there is a larger issue with equipment access. There is only one Smith machine, and during my workout it was occupied for an extended period by a trainer and her group. When I raised the concern, I was told by Sergi that trainers have priority because their clients pay both a training fee and a membership. As a paying visitor, that was frustrating to hear. Whether someone is a member or a guest, everyone is paying to use the facility and should have reasonable access to equipment. First come first serve is understandable, but allowing one group to dominate a single high demand machine without rotation makes it difficult for others to complete their workouts. I was told I could ask to work in, which I will do next time, but there should also be some level of awareness and courtesy from trainers and their groups when using limited equipment. Additionally, the ladies made the environment extremely loud, which made it difficult to focus and train effectively. I am more than willing to respect gym policies, but I also expect clear, respectful communication and fair access to equipment in return. Hopefully Mr. Sergi takes a closer look at both how members are addressed and how shared space is managed, because the current approach does not reflect well on the gym.

I've always had positive experiences respectful staff, professional communication, and a welcoming atmosphere. Unfortunately, that was not the case at this location. Today I forgot to re-rack a curl bar. I normally always re-rack my weights, but this time I genuinely forgot. As I was walking out, an employee stopped me and said, "Hey, is this you?" referencing the curl bar. I immediately apologized and told him it was my mistake. What made the situation uncomfortable was what happened next. He pulled up camera footage and proceeded to look me up in the system, mentioning that I was visiting from California. The speed and manner in which he accessed my information felt excessive and unnecessary for what was a simple oversight that I had already taken responsibility for. There's a professional way to handle situations like this a simple reminder would have been sufficient. Instead, the interaction felt investigative and awkward. I won't be returning to this location. Thankfully, I have access to a gym at my condo complex and won't need to deal with that kind of environment again. I hope management reviews how situations like this are handled in the future, because it doesn't reflect the positive experiences I've had at other Anytime Fitness locations.
