So I've gotten over my disgruntlement as a visitor and became a member. The gym is spacious so social distancing is fairly easy. Equipment is in good shape and there's a lot of it, so that's all good. In reality, this is probably a 3-star place due to some small things that would be fixable if there were staff there 24/7. The first point is that the music is too loud in the weight area. It competes with your earbud, forcing you to turn up your own volume to compensate. Everyone wears earbuds anyway, so why not turn the music down? The second point is some damn annoying members, who lack gym etiquette. Leaving weights on stations after they're finished is the first grievance, and many members do it. The second one is specific to one person... he's a screamer (and not in a good way). Even if he's not lifting, but his partner is lifting, he will scream and shout. It turns people off and I've talked to the GM about it but nothing has changed. You can literally hear him from across the gym. That same guy also leaves stuff sitting ON several stations at a time. Not on the floor, but ON the equipment. This prevents them from being used without moving their stuff (which is a gym faux pas). Because these are not technically the issued the business, I gave them 4-stars. They could easily be 5-stars if they addressed some fairly easy issues. read more

Appreciate the staff and management at Golds Gym. The gym is always clean and staff is incredibly polite and helpfuis always on top of any concerns brought to her attention. The gym is not clean. They do not have a good Covid-19 protocol. I didn't go to the gym for the above reasons and when I asked to be relieved from my contract they refused. read more

Great, new facility with a friendly staff! Worked out here while visiting from out of state and had no issues (well, besides the rude janitor who lacks people skills, who may or may not be special needs). The highlight is easily the beefy, country bro at the front desk-- dude is not only welcoming, but pretty frickin' hot! Decent gym to work out at as far as equipment goes but I've actively advised people against signing up. The atmosphere of this gym the majority of the time I am there is women dressed as though they're at an adult establishment to expose their bodies rather than a gym where families and young adults come to engage in fitness practices. Being proud of your accomplishments doesn't need to be advertised in sexually suggestive ways. It's not a place I enjoy working out at and isn't a welcoming or comfortable environment to be in. I do not advise joining this gym. read more

Horrible. The equipment has dwindled down to next to nothing. Owner refuses to speak with anyone that complains. In fact, I'd be willing to bet that he'll comment on this post and say, "hey, call me and we'll take care of this", then not answer calls, texts, or emails. The facility is falling apart at the seams. The promise of a new location for over a year now has apparently just been a lie. I wouldn't waste my time or money on this place. You'd get a better workout as a mall walker. Don't even get me started on the membership fees. read more

I've been to several gyms around Anderson, and I would say that Gold's is by far the most spacious and most versatile in terms of the variety of equipment. They seriously have every piece of equipment you could imagine, and several designated areas for classes and training. The place is very large and rarely ever crowded. The staff are polite, and the locker rooms are pretty clean. They also have very large showers which is great if you've got to run to work or a meeting after your workout. A couple of things that I'm unsure of are the monthly prices, training, and additional classes. I don't always see a lot of trainers, so I don't know if they're booked separately. I'm sure they have information about all of this available online though if you want it. Overall, I like this gym a lot and think it's worth checking out if you're looking for a place to exercise and get some workouts in. read more

I really have nothing bad to say about the Gym. My experience has been more than just positive. I've slacked off for about a month now due to a new job, commitments to my daughter babysitting my wonderful new grandson. I'm just trying to get my schedule down. My trainer Scott has been MORE than patient with me, always fitting me in at the last minute when i have a moment. So, if you need or want a trainer, Scott's your man. The dry sauna, the hydro-massage chairs are a great features too!! read more

I was a long time member of Golds Gym in Anderson. However, in this new location with new staff, I found them having shady business practices. The owner yelled at my child who was doing nothing wrong. They prices consistently go up, long time loyalty is not rewarded, but punished by exorbitant fees. As far as equipment it is plentiful, but the staff and shady practices make me suggest you seek another gym. read more

Look it's a great gym, but shifty business practices. I moved to a nearby town, not too far away I'll admit, but that combined with the gym requiring masks my wife and I found ourselves not using the gym as often. When we signed up for a membership we were not wanting to sign a contract, we wanted to go month to month, but the lady we were talking to assured us that after 3 months there was a $120 cancellation fee, so we signed up. Yes, I know, had we read the fine print we would have known a few things: 1) we weren't signing up for one year like she told us, instead of was for two years, 2) there was no cancellation fee, once you're in, you're in for the whole contract. Tried to explain this to the GM, all he gave me was that I could buy out the contract for one year instead of two, but since it was a "he said she said" scenario he wouldn't budge on the cancellation fee. I don't like liars or being cheated, the lady that signed us up seemed nice so I trusted her. Do not trust these people. read more

Been going to golds for almost 5 years now and I just renewed my membership for the new location coming. Very excited for the future of the gym because the staff works hard and it's one of the best gyms around. Most corporate gyms you go to, your just a number. But, at golds everyone is awesome and cares about the members. 5 stars! read more

I joined Golds a little over a year ago and have paid dearly for that choice. They've been saying the new gym would be open for MONTHS (beginning as far back as February 2018) and it still isn't. They have their members working out in a "temporary space" (with no air conditioning in the summer months and very limited equipment). They have failed to communicate over and over again on the new gym open date while increasing their rates. I've left message after message for their owner, Brad, with no return calls. I've sent countless Facebook messages and left poor reviews everywhere. Brad has responded to each negative review telling me to call him and get it sorted out but he never answers his phone or returns calls. Now they've started deleting any negative comments. There were 7 comments on a post yesterday regarding their new rates, one of them mine, asking for a ballpark open date for the new gym. This morning, all of them are gone and they've disabled my ability to comment on their page or send them messages. I commented on their Instagram page and was immediately blocked. I've now filed a report with the BBB and look forward to resolving these issues. read more

Friendly staff, positive workout environment, equipment is in excellent condition, and the entire facility is always neat and clean. I would recommend this Gold's Gym location to all in the Anderson area. read more
