Work brought me to Clemson and I was SO THANKFUL I found this gym. They have a $10 day pass that I took advantage of while in town. If I lived here I would 100% join here. Gym has every piece of equipment I would dream of. Plenty of free weights, machines, unique pieces of equipment, literally a gym rats dream. Facility was clean and kept up very well. They also have a private room just for women to workout! I've never seen this, it was really cool! The staff were all so welcoming and kind. Especially Ben and Natalie, they were so welcoming and made me feel like I was home when I came in! A lot of times customer service at gyms in nonexistent, but they're very polite here! Will not end membership after letting them know you would not like to renew after two years. I notified them I did not want to renew and they continued to charge my card. They had evidence that I said this but I did not as it was on my now deleted school email. They continued to charge my card and refused to issue refund on un authorized months of membership. Owner also likes to go in the women's rest room and has said some weird stuff to girls that went there. read more

This place is terrible. It did not take long before I realized it was a waste of money. I tried to cancel but their response was to continue to charge me every month (I had to call my bank to stop it multiple times). They then stuck me with a bill for over $1700.00. They sent it over to a collection agency to threaten me, which is illegal to inflate the price that much (more than 50 times the monthly rate) . This only took a few months. I am taking them to small claims court and if there are others that have dealt with same treatment, please contact me at zachf2517@gmail.com and we can see if we can all sue at that same time. do not join this gym. you have to move 50 miles away to cancel membership. my son moved home for summer and they still won't cancel his membership. it is a scam! buyer beware! read more

Great staff great equipment just I think they over sell memberships, it's almost always insanely busy. Understood a lot of people generally have the same schedule but It's an absolute mad house from 3:30-7-30 and they're signing someone new up every time I'm there. read more

Max fitness is hands down the best gym in Clemson. It's the cleanest gym and they have super friendly employees. If you're looking for your home gym, I definitely recommend it. read more

if you are looking to work out on machines there are plenty of other places you can choose that will be just as good. Unfortunately, if you are interested in swimming or water aerobics, the pool heater is down more than it is working. They keep replacing parts and the repair works for a week and then suddenly it's down again. They need to replace the heating system, but they are too cheap to do it. read more

BEWARE OF THIS GYM. We were members for over 20 years, but when Covid hit in 2020, we stopped going and did not renew. We just discovered that they were withdrawing monthly amounts from our checking account beginning in February of this year. Our bank is taking care of the problem, but apparently we are not the only people they have tried to scam. We will be warning everyone we know in the area about this company. read more
