Ever since moving I've been looking to find a cycle studio (I used to go to cyclebar), and found there weren't all too many dedicated cycle studios. Downloaded the MINDBODY app and enter sōr. They had a new rider special for local residents - 3 visits within 2 weeks for $30- with that I tried two cycle classes and rhythm and burn. I was SOLD and ended up getting an 8 class/month subscription. The instructors are friendly, knowledgeable, and supportive- they provide plenty of modifications depending on your comfort level. The R&B classes kick my butt (in a good way) and really are a great complement to the rides. They also have a rhythm and strength class that I've yet to check out, but stay tuned! It's not a huge space but you will find what you need. And the owner is very friendly. Unfortunately, I messed up when I worked out here. I have been lifting heavy for over a year, and of all things, I get an umbilical hernia from Russian Twists. If you're not familiar with them, there is no heavy weight required. It just puts strain on your abdomen if you go too hard. I was using a medicine ball and at a high rate of speed. So, I messed up. The current plan is to pretend I don't know about the umbilical hernia when working out. This is an easy hernia to fix but still a few thousand. Dang it! My point is that I go with energies and the universe. I can't go back here since I messed up here. But it is indeed a great gym and I definitely recommend it! I just threw in a personal experience/story.

I was intrigued by the offer on the ad for a boot camp type work out. Located on Riverside Drive, you might miss them if you don't look carefully, but once you find them I think you'll be happy. The staff is uber friendly and helpful and the programs are very good - group as well as personal type training. We did a month program which was great, but in the end we decided to to another round of p90x, which isn't any reflection upon the gym.....just not the right time or in our budget at that moment.
