We recently hired Goldenberg Roofing NYC after dealing with an ongoing roof leak in our brownstone near East 83rd Street on the Upper East Side. The leak had been frustrating because it only appeared during heavier rainstorms, and after speaking with a couple of other roofing companies, we still didn't feel confident that anyone had identified the true source of the problem. Thankfully, Goldenberg Roofing NYC approached the inspection much more thoroughly and gave us confidence from the very beginning. The estimator spent a considerable amount of time walking the roof, inspecting the flashing, seams, drainage areas, and roof penetrations instead of simply giving a quick opinion. He explained exactly where water was entering, showed us photographs of the damaged sections, and answered every question without trying to pressure us into replacing the entire roof. I really appreciated the honesty and transparency, especially since several other contractors immediately recommended much more expensive work. Once we approved the proposal, communication remained excellent. Scheduling was straightforward, the office kept us informed about arrival times, and the crew showed up exactly when promised with all of the necessary materials. Everyone was courteous, professional, and clearly experienced. They protected the surrounding areas while they worked, replaced deteriorated flashing, repaired damaged sections of the roofing membrane, reinforced several vulnerable seams, and corrected a drainage issue that had likely contributed to the leak over time. Throughout the project, they provided progress updates and even took photos of the completed repairs so we could see exactly what had been done. It's obvious they take pride in their workmanship and understand how important clear communication is, especially for homeowners who may not be familiar with roofing systems. The cleanup was just as impressive as the repair itself. The crew made sure the property was left spotless, removed all debris, and performed a final walkthrough before leaving to ensure we were completely satisfied. They never made us feel rushed and took the time to answer a few additional maintenance questions we had about extending the life of the roof. Since the repairs were completed, we've experienced several significant rainstorms, and the leak has completely disappeared. It's a huge relief knowing the issue wa read more

Managing a commercial property near East 58th Street in Manhattan means finding contractors who communicate well is just as important as finding ones who do quality work. Goldenberg Roofing NYC checked both boxes. After a tenant reported water around one of the rooftop mechanical rooms, they came out for an inspection and found deteriorated flashing around an HVAC curb along with a couple of small membrane issues nearby. They documented everything with photos and explained exactly what needed to be repaired before providing an estimate. Scheduling was easy, and the crew coordinated their work around the building’s operating hours so there was very little disruption. Everyone was professional, courteous, and clearly experienced. They kept the roof clean throughout the project and provided updates each day until everything was complete. The project ended up taking about half a day longer than originally expected because they found another small section that needed attention once the old materials were removed. They discussed it with us before proceeding, and I’m glad they fixed it instead of covering it up. Since the repairs were completed, everything has remained completely dry. I’d absolutely work with Goldenberg Roofing NYC again read more

worked with Goldenberg Roofing NYC for a full flat roof replacement project on our brownstone in manhattan after dealing with recurring leaks and ponding water for years. Out of all the roofing contractors we met with, they were the only company that actually took the time to inspect the roof properly, explain the existing roof system, and show us why the previous installation failed. Their crew arrived with a large 15 man team, safety equipment, and even a crane truck to remove debris efficiently without disrupting the neighboring properties. The project manager kept us updated throughout the process with drone photos and the workmanship was extremely clean and professional. They installed a new SBS modified bitumen roofing system with proper insulation and drainage corrections, and you can immediately tell the difference in quality compared to the old roof. What impressed me most was how organized and experienced they were working in NYC on a tight block with difficult access. The roof looks amazing, the cleanup was spotless, and we finally have peace of mind every time it rains. Highly recommend Goldenberg Roofing NYC if you need a reliable roofing company in New York City. read more

After getting numerous estimates from other companies I came across Goldenberg Buliders on the internet. I dealt with Sean Fox. He came out the day after we spoke to look at the work I needed done and sent over the proposal the same night. After doing more research I discovered the reviews about Goldenberg on Yelp. I decided to hire them after talking more with Sean Fox. We scheduled for weekend work and had the bad luck of weather not being cooperative with our schedule. They were completely on top of the situation and called to reschedule for the next weekend. This unfortunately happened 3 weekends in a row, and all 3 times I was called 2 days in advance to be notified that the weather was not looking good and would need to reschedule again as I am only available on the weekends. Finally this past weekend was clear of bad weather. They showed up at scheduled time and finished the work within a couple of hours. When they left , all areas were work was being performed were clean. I am extremely pleased with the quality of the work performed. Sean Fox was a pleasure to work with and would highly recommend Goldenberg Builders. read more

Spoke to Eden and have Goldenberg redo my roof. While other contractors told me it will take from two to three days, Goldenberg finished the entire job in a bit less than a day. I was both surprised and grateful. The workers lay down multiple layers of tarps to protect my driveway and stairs before removing the old shingles. When a group of workers took down the old shingles, another group is busy removing and loading them onto the dump truck. As the new shingles were laid, the tarp was wrapped and removed and a sweeper was used to pickup any residual debris. When the job was done, it is as if everything was left the way they were beforehand with the exception of a brand new roof. I was amazed by the efficiency and the cleanliness. The workers were professional and took care of my every request. The work done was delicate and precise and attention was taken to address even the smallest detail. I am more than satisfied and will definitely recommend anyone who wand to redo their roof to give Goldenberg a call. You will not be disappointed. read more

I spend most of my time paying attention to mechanical systems, not roofs. The project started when I noticed unusual moisture readings in a rooftop equipment room. There were no active leaks, but humidity levels consistently spiked after rainstorms. Goldenberg Roofing's inspection revealed water intrusion occurring around several equipment curbs. The flashing assemblies had been modified so many times that nobody fully understood how they worked anymore. During construction, the roofing contractor rebuilt the curbs and integrated them into a new membrane system. Additional drainage channels were added around mechanical areas. The layout became cleaner and easier to service. The humidity issue disappeared almost immediately. The roof finally worked with the equipment instead of against it read more

I am writing this after living with the new roof for more than a year. Our recurring leak was located where the flat roof met the sloped front section of the house. The inspection found cracked transition flashing, brittle roofing, and wet insulation extending beyond the visible damage. A focused repair was discussed, but it would not have addressed the surrounding material. We selected a new self-adhered modified-bitumen system with additional insulation. Several deck boards were replaced at the transition before custom metal flashing was installed. The neighbor's entrance and our front planting area were protected during removal. Fabrication of the metal added one day to the schedule, but the roof remained secured. The leak has not returned through heavy rain, snow, or summer heat. read more

I hired this company to do my laundromat in July so please check the attached picture and video before you hire them, they say something and different things, hire no experienced workers and they are expensive too so if you smart look for different company, there is a lot of good companies that they know what they doing and don't get tricked by the nice speaking like what happened to me , this roof not even 2 month old, so if you hire this company you may have a roof like that in the picture, and when I called Aden, he sent another guys twice but I still have the same problem that means that they don't know anything about the job and now he ignored my calls so I hired an attorney to go to the court, I wish I can give them minus 5 stars not one star, sorry about my long review read more

Moving from Florida to Brooklyn was already a huge adjustment, but when we noticed a water stain spreading across our bedroom ceiling during the secondweek in our new house, I honestly panicked and thought we made a huge mistake buying this place. I called Goldenberg Roofing and they sent someone over the same day who climbed up, found a few loose shingles and a small gap near the chimney, and had it all patched up within a couple of hours for a price that was way more reasonable than I expected. It's been through a few rainy days since then and the ceiling is completely dry, so I can finally stop worrying every time I hear a drip somewhere else in the house and actually start enjoying our new neighborhood. So relieved we found these guys. read more

Our house has a pitched shingle roof that was beginning to show signs of age. Missing shingles, discoloration, and a few minor leaks had started appearing over the last couple years. Goldenberg Roofing's inspection process was thorough and helped us understand what was actually happening rather than just guessing based on what we could see from the ground. The project ended up involving a full replacement along with several repairs around roof penetrations and flashing details. The finished roof looks fantastic and has noticeably improved the appearance of the house. What I appreciated most was that the project stayed organized from beginning to end. Everything happened when they said it would and there were no unexpected costs. read more

We own a mixed-use property with commercial tenants below and apartments above. Roofing projects can become complicated quickly because there are so many people affected if something goes wrong. The existing roof had multiple layers from previous installations and several areas that had clearly been patched over the years. During the inspection, they documented everything and provided a clear explanation of what they found. The replacement itself was completed efficiently and with minimal disruption to tenants. Communication was excellent throughout the project and we always knew what stage things were in. After several months and multiple storms, the roof is performing exactly as it should. Thank you Goldenberg Roofing! read more

Our issue started with birds. Every spring they seemed to find a new way into the building. During the inspection, it became obvious that several roof edge details had deteriorated over time and created openings. The repair involved replacing sections of edge metal, rebuilding parts of the perimeter, and installing new waterproofing around vulnerable areas. The contractor explained that keeping water out and keeping wildlife out often go hand in hand. I never would have connected those two things myself. The work wasn't flashy, but it solved multiple problems at once. The building has been noticeably quieter ever since. read more

For the first few storms after the replacement, nothing was wet, there was no musty smell, and the stain by the valley never came back. The old shingles were over 20 years old and losing granules everywhere. Once they came off, some bad plywood was found along the valley and replaced before the new architectural shingles went down. They also added a ridge vent because the attic had almost no airflow. One gutter section came loose during the work and needed to be reattached. That was handled before they left. A year later, the roof still looks great and I've finally stopped checking the attic every time it rains. read more

I took a shot in the dark with Goldenberg Roofing from a flyer I found on my door. I knew that shot in the dark paid off the moment Justin came to check out the roof to provide me with an estimate. They were priced just right, they guarantee the work and it's written on the contract. Their crew is professional & prepared to do the job in a timely manner. Last but not least they are very clean. They did not make a mess what so ever. If I wasn't there to actually see them working I would off never known a roofing crew was there repairing my roof. This is what I call "A Polished Company". After a severe spring rain we discovered that we had multiple leaks coming through our ceiling. I made a list of roofing company's and started dialing. After showing the roof to several people we came across Goldenberg. Eden showed up on time with a big smile on his face. He made the whole thing seem so simple and affordable. He did not disappoint. His crew showed up on time, they were quick and clean and cheerful. When the bill came he was a man of his word. Next time I need something I know who to call. Highly recommended. read more

Two layers of shingles were discovered during tear-off, even though the previous owner's paperwork mentioned only one. Removing the extra layer added labor, disposal, and a day to the schedule. Once the deck was visible, several split boards near the chimney also needed replacement. Photographs were sent before any additional work was approved. New flashing, underlayment, and shingles were installed only after the deck was repaired. I did not enjoy the added cost, but the process for handling it was fair and transparent. read more
