I've had fried chicken sandwiches with a much larger piece of chicken at a bit lower of a price point. I'm not local to Petaluma though, so it's likely I'm just not aware of the local prices/portions. After I tried it, I wished I had ordered one of their seasonal menu items I was considering. (They source from local vendors and change their menu based on what is currently in season, which I really appreciate.) Service was nice and welcoming. You order at the counter then find a seat.

The soup dumplings and the shrimp dumplings are best when eaten while hot from the steamer, I have found they get slightly chewy when one tries to reheat/re-steam later. Yet I did not try calling him. Hopefully he can find a long term spot to set up.

Sitting on a busy corner parking lot, this place is super popular so expect to wait, plus parking can be tricky. All said, the service is efficient and people are patient to wait for what they know is a good thing. While waiting you can bag up your own garnishes like pico, salsa, pickled peppers, sautéed or raw onions, and more. I saw some people enjoy their food in their cars, but both times we brought ours home since we live close and the packaging keeps everything together well. It looked like she was on her way to a bake sale or something. She gave a little speech to my dad about how her mom was a single mother and they couldn't afford to buy her a computer. On that first day my dad bought her entire tray of cookies, brownies and rice krispy treats. I realized she must have something going for her since my dad's a diabetic and he doesn't mess around with refined sugar. Anyway, she has kept showing up almost every weekend since then. She'll graduate high school next year and is deciding between some very high profile colleges. She never gives discounts, even to my dad, who even she admits has been by far her most consistent, big spending customer. Dad brings the stuff home and my mom and grandma go bananas. They love it all. And I can't say no to her lemon bars. Yummy! If you see a smiley teenage girl with a tray of baked stuff walking around the streets in Petaluma definitely buy some of it; it's a good cause and it's delicious. Just leave my lemon bars alone!
