Camellia City did an awesome job. Seriously. We spoke with Cynthia on the phone who helped us set up our appointment. They didn't have our first choice of times available, but she told us if they had a cancellation that she would call us back and let us know. A couple of days passed and she called us to let us know that our original time preference was available. Very cool of her to follow up like that. On the day of the cleaning technicians Aaron and Joseph arrived right on time. They explained in detail what how Chem-Dry products work and how they were going to approach cleaning the rooms in our house. Basically they showed us that they had their crap together and knew what they were doing. Nicely done. It took them a tad bit longer than they expected, but it was due to our cat's hair being so embedded in the carpet that it took them a bit of extra work to get it all out. Personally I was fine with that because I'd rather have the job done well than fast. Plus, I had taken a half day off of work so it wasn't a big deal for me. When Joseph and Aaron were done, my wife and let out a bunch of "whoas" and "holy craps" because our carpet looked brand new. We didn't realize how dirty we had been living until the carpets had been truly cleaned. It's amazing. I used to Rug Doctor the carpets about once every eight to twelve months. Never again. The quality level of Chem-Dry vs. Rug Doctor is not even in the same ballpark. Plus Rug Doctor was a major pain in the ass with the tank refills and the time investment. We're hooked on our clean carpets now, so we're going to do this again in a few months when our little guys starts to get mobile. We were originally referred to Camellia City through the Chem-Dry web site, but going forward we're just going to go straight to them. This was a 100% positive experience and I highly recommend these guys to anyone in the Sacramento area.

Now, cleaning a fine oriental rug is not your average no-brainer! First of all, only a few local firms specialize in the care of oriental rugs. Carpet cleaning companies that tell you they'll do it? Proceed at your own risk, as the vegetable dyes and hand knotted wool can be irreparably damaged by the wrong technique and/or chemicals. I'd done quite a bit of research before settling on Artistic Associates oriental rug cleaners. My first try (like many people) was the "other" Sacramento rug cleaning place. By far the cheapest, I didn't feel comfortable with their cleaning techniques, nor with the less-than-stellar reviews. Another local company appears quite competent, but I just couldn't pull the trigger based on their $400+ estimate. Here's the price range I found for cleaning our 8x10.5 rug: $125-$450. At $250, Artistic Associates oriental rug cleaning was right in the middle, but several discussions with the owner, Marion, made me feel this was the right place. Their cleaning process is thorough, effective and gentle. Nominal pickup/delivery fee got me a professional team with a trailer doing all the heavy lifting. After about 10 days, I got a call from Marion letting us know the carpet was ready to be delivered. It looks spectacular! Thanks Artistic Associates oriental rug cleaners, and thanks Marion!

I suppose if you had a tall pole and needed to get way up to it do whatever you would find a ladder to accomplish this task. Now I don't want to give the impression that this place is only for men. The employees are very friendly and Mark helped us get the correct racking to fit our needs. We can always used a good rack and in the warehouse our racks look good.
