As with most HK diners, it's a very small, narrow shop, though there's still plenty of seating. There aren't many employees, and it could get busy at times, so just be patient. Customer service is friendly enough.
I didn't know during my visit, but after a week in HK, 大頭蝦 is definitely not the most affordable diner. You could do a lot more with your money in Hong Kong! With that said, this establishment makes up for its above-average pricing with a truly impressive variety of options. There's Vietnamese inspired dishes, Singaporean, Cantonese, and more. You could also choose from rice, noodles, vermicelli, rice noodles, etc. etc.
The portion size is alright, not great but not skimping either. I ordered a laksa, which is a Malaysian noodle soup with spicy coconut flavor. I ordered it with fish as the topping, but instead of the expected fish fillets, it came with what appears to be fish tofu. It was so bouncy and chewy, it felt like I was chewing gum.. a bit off-putting but I'm sure the other choices will be better, as the noodle soup was otherwise delicious. My friends all ordered Hainan chicken rice, and agreed that it's not the best they've had, but not bad, either.
Overall, I wish I could give a higher score, but 4 stars is a bit optimistic for me. If money isn't of your concern and you're trying to grab a quick bite, 大頭蝦 is a pretty good place to eat. Otherwise, while nothing (besides the fish tofu) was alarmingly bad, I think you could do better than this restaurant.
