SPICY BEEF PATTY $2.95...490 CALORIES
Daren R.

CARRIBEAN FOODIE PARADISE... Literally a line from the door and a serpentine of hungry customers ordering up fresh plates of traditional carribean foods. The scent of jerk emanating through this small packed North American Jamaican founded chain of 125 restaurants. Fresh food is presented in metal tubs under the glass display for customers to gawk, sniff, order. The Reggae Fest Meals are perfect for on the go lunch breaks or even breakfast. Some of their specialties are an average of $12.00 and are as follows: JERK CHICKEN BRAISED OXTAIL BROWN STEW CHICKEN JERK PORK ESCOVITCH FISH CURRIED CHICKEN & GOAT TOFU VEGETABLES CALLALOO AND SALT FISH CORNMEAL PORRIDGE COCO BREAD JERK - CHICKEN - BEEF PATTY COCKTAIL PATTIES I ordered a spicy beef patty that the server removed from the commercial oven and placed it into my hands $2.95 at 490 calories. I sat in the small eatery area and hoped for a good snack. The crust was crispy and the beef tasted fresh with a nice spicy kick that sets in at the back of my throat after a few seconds. As I ate my glorious spicy patty, I was shocked by the amount of customers pouring into this small store, its an obvious gold mine. Im gonna return and try the Oxtail. The bathroom was very clean and required a key from the employee for entry.

Came in for a pick up order and got treated very badly.Taller lady was very rude and treated me very bad I definitely won't come back into this place. Not the first time I came here and got treated badly.Food is most of the time cold by the time you get home and it's not very good. There are much better options in the area and I won't give this place any more business.I really couldn't believe how she talked to me..

Brown Stew Chicken and Jerk Pasta

The jerk pasta was very good. The brown stew chicken was bland this time. It is typically very good. The staff was very polite.

Jerk Chicken with rice & peas

I ordered jerk chicken with rice & peas & vegetables. The chicken was cooked really well, fall off the bone. I liked that they gave extra sauce for the rice & chicken. For a chain the food was pretty good. I would order from here again.

First time visiting this location and let me say that on first impressions I was impressed. The store is CLEAN. Fridges are stocked full of drinks and the buffet area with the food was immaculate. The ladies greeted us when we entered and they were very pleasant. The lady that that served us was also very pleasant. Jamaican restaurant servers always get a bad rap as being miserable and not polite but this restaurant was the opposite. Food was a good value for the cost and the flavor was good. I'll be back for sure!

Not my preferred place to buy patties due to their limited variety, but I do appreciate their daily porridge options. I came for breakfast this time and was disappointed with the serving compared to the price. For $17 I'll just buy a can of Ackee and cook it at home.

Great place for authentic Jamaican food. Staff is friendly. It is buffet style...sometimes they may be a bit skimpy with the amount but they are generally fair. They have a great selection juices. Go early if you want to catch the breakfast offerings. They are so delicious that they sell out wu

I've always seen the Patties in the dollar store and see videos of the store. I never dreamt that I would ever be anywhere near a store front. When I saw that I was near one I quickly went, the store was so clean I was amazed. It was organized and the food was fresh, I'm talking steam rising up, the scent of Jamaican food in the air and clean floors. I love the place, the ladies at the counter was so nice. Ooooh here is the plus, they sell everything in the morning. Normally Jamaican restaurants limit you to breakfast in the morning, not them. I went about 11 am and ordered jerk pork!!! Yummmmm.. hubby said the oxtail is nice too. Food 10/10, bathroom 10/10, service, the ladies were refined and helpful 11/10. Thank you ladies and the cook that no one sees. Lots of love.

Honestly... this was tasty!!! My bf is from Jamaica and he says it's pretty solid. Pumpkin rice is fire!! I loved it with the oxtail and plantains. If you're trying to fulfill your Jamaican craving.. fast and convenient.. go to this spot!

The already made salad. It was good, definitely fresh

Ordered the jerk chicken salad that was being boasted on the flyers and pictures. It was definitely a one hit wonder. I won't be ordering it again, the salad was a previously prepared salad in a container and the jerk chicken as undercooked and had bones. I don't know about you, but I don't like bones in my salad. The service was quick, so no complaints there and the ambiance of the restaurant was that of a to-go setting

Well, what can I say! Golden Krust has my heart. Just about everything I have had from there is amazing. Especially the chicken soups, Ackee & saltfish. Jamaican cuisine in general combines some of the most robust flavors and hits so many points in the taste buds. Which explains the craze at business lunch here. It is insane. The entire place was packed to almost out the door. Pro tip: Come for breakfast as well, you won't regret the taste profile lol. The fried chicken too is a secret here, that's barely any breading and it's mostly skin. I've been able to eat it on the keto diet. Dreams do come true.

Love their red pea soup. I try to get it as often as I can. I'm so glad it's around. Plus the people who work there are so friendly.

The oxtail can't be beat. Great flavor. Very mild and very tender. U may get lucky and find a bottled sorrel there too.

She was not stingy with filling the plate up. The lady that helped us today was sweet as pie. She was warm, sweet and professional. The place was clean and the food aroma filled the room. Pure goodness! I'm so glad I found this place. When my craving for Jamaican food comes back, I now have my go-to place. 100% recommend!

When I walked in, everything smelled amazing and all the food was covered up, which I can appreciate for cleanliness purposes. I was greeted by a smiling and upbeat Simone, who is super warm and welcoming. This was a very pleasant surprise given how my beautiful Jamaican people do not always get the best rep for customer service (IYKYK). I ordered the oxtail, rice and peas and some jerk chicken. Simon gave me a beautiful, and packed plate. The rice and peas was SOO good, I was happy just eating it by itself. The oxtail pieces were big and juicy and FALL-OFF-THE-BONE good. The cabbage had a distinct color and flavor that I LOVED. I give the overall plate a 9/10 only because I didn't get any carrots with the oxtail or sweet plantains in my order which I personally prefer and personally feel should come with oxtail meals. Also because while the jerk chicken LOOKED AMAZING and was nice enough, it didn't pack as much flavor as I would like and they didn't have a signature sauce with it (again, a personal preference, try it yourself, to see how YOU feel). Overall, this was an awesome experience. I would definitely eat here again and strongly encourage you to give it a try if you haven't yet, even just to experience the pleasure of meeting Simone.

We arrived around 11 PM on a Friday and the place had great energy. It was lively without feeling overwhelming, and a few tables looked like they were celebrating special occasions, which added to the vibe. The music was excellent and honestly brought back a bit of that nostalgic, high school party feel in the best way. We ordered a couple of drinks and they were definitely strong and well made. The service stood out just as much as the atmosphere. The owner was incredibly pleasant and attentive, checking in with us several times to make sure we were taken care of. You could tell she genuinely cared about the guests. I also learned the owners are Trini and Guyanese, which I loved because it added a nice personal touch to the experience. As a first time visitor, I really appreciated that she thanked us for coming when we left. It made the experience feel welcoming and personal. I'll definitely be back to try the food. As a vegetarian, I'm hoping to make a special request since there aren't many Chinese vegetarian options on the menu, but I'm confident they'll accommodate it. We left after 1 AM and people were still coming in, so it's clearly a popular late night spot. Great location right off University with plenty of parking, which makes it super convenient. Overall, a great night, great energy, and a place I'll be returning to.

The location is not in the best neighborhood, and by looks of their front door (iron bars), it very well might be an unsafe area. The restaurant inside is clean, I'll give them that. Tables and floors were well kept and wiped down after guests left. There were a couple ladies behind the counter who were friendly and gave us some time to review the menu. Jason and I both ordered the same thing, goat curry (curry goat) with rice and peas and it came side a small side of steamed cabbage and a few sweet plantains as well. We took our food to go and all the way home it smelled go good! Immediately when I opened the container I knew right away, it was going to be a hit or miss (for me). The color or the goat was very yellow, which means, this curry was more turmeric than actual curry power. Being from the Caribbean, you know the difference between the 2 things.... Nevertheless, we ate, and we both liked the food, it was not something that I felt like I could not stop eating, nor thought 'wow I can't wait to go back'. The meat of the goat was tender for sure. The flavors that I'm familiar with, were not there. And I understand that this might be the restaurant's way of cooking, and their style, and that's totally ok, it's just for me this was not one of my favorite Jamaican spots.

Everything tasted great. The chicken was crispy, the rice and peas were well seasoned, and the oxtail gravy brought everything together perfectly. The plantains were a standout, sweet like candy and cooked just right. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. However, the ambiance felt more like a hole in the wall spot rather than a polished dining environment. That being said, the quality and flavor of the food definitely make up for it. Overall, it's a great place to grab authentic, delicious Jamaican food, and I'd definitely come back again.

Going in, the interior was very clean and clearly gave off carribean vibes. The tables inside were jumping with other patrons, but we were seated rather quickly. For dinner, we ordered 1x griot dinner complete (meaning the platter; rice & peas, pikliz, plaintains), 1x lassot complete (fried turkey), and 2x pate codes (think of a loaded hatian empanada; we ordered 1x fish and 1x chicken). Moving on with our review; everything was excellent! The griot had a nice crispy exterior but was tenderly seasoned inside. The lassot was surprisingly moist and crispy too. To include, the contrast of the onions marinated with the green seasoning on top. The rice & peas were cooked perfectly as they were light as air and plantains were crispy & salted nicely too. The pate codes were huge in size and flavor as well! My preference would be the original over the fish, but they both packed a tangy, savory, and spicy punch! Moreover, we had the pleasure of meeting and being served by the owner, who was very friendly and attentive. Overall, we were highly satisfied with our experience and would definitely recommend this spot for anybody who's looking for quality hatian cusuine. Final verdict 5/5!
