I'm at Dr. Rogers at the Hamlin pet fest last year and held onto his business card and when I was ready to change that I was going to give him a call. On Sunday, my puppy injured herself and on Monday I called the Golden Heart because it was time to make the switch. They were able to get me in on the same day appointment and we got to see Dr. Rogers. The staff was really nice and the assistant who took care of us was very warm. My puppy was a little nervous at first, but she started to warm up to her new friends. They gave my pup a full work up and was able to figure out why she was limping and addressed all my concerns. This morning we received a call and they wanted to follow up to make sure that the puppy was doing a little bit better this morning. I appreciated the fact that they did review the cost before they took any action to make sure that I was comfortable and it didn't cost as much as I thought it was going to, which is even better. We were one of two dogs in the office, but it was very organized and we got placed into a room right away. Like any other doctor I hope we don't have to revisit however I look forward to revisiting if we have to besides her yearly check ups.

We're new to the Horizon West area and needed a reliable vet for our pups. We discovered the new Golden Heart Veterinary Care clinic that's located on Reams Road across from Disney University. We liked Dr. Steven D'Ambrose's credentials and decided to give the new clinic a try. We also liked that the clinic is open on weekends for those "just in case" scenarios. Upon arrival and during our visits, everyone there was very friendly and helpful. We appreciated Dr. D'Ambrose's demeanor and the gentle care he provided. He explained everything in great detail and reviewed the costs associated with the tests and medications our sick pup needed. The office also followed up with us the next day to see how our pup was doing; that's going above and beyond, which we truly value in a veterinarian. I was hesitant to write this glowing review because I don't want Dr. D'Ambrose to become so popular (pupular?) that we can't get into seeing him when we need to, but he and his staff deserve to be recognized.

Took well care of my pup Railey! I was able to email and get immediate feedback on my dog's surgery scars, and they were understanding about my situation and only charged me for the absolutely necessary costs. Truly appreciative of especially Dr. D'Ambrose (who owns this place lol) and Tori, who helped with quick email correspondence between Railey's treatments. Thanks!!

Dr D'ambrose and his team are simply the best! Have been going to him and his office for three years now! We vet hopped all over to try and save our Walter to finally find answers from this Dr. Exhausting as it was we were so grateful to have finally found a good vet that knew what they were doing and cared about their patients. It was too late for Walter although D'ambrose and his team did their best and kept him comfortable and happy until it was time and he went peacefully thanks to them. I now have six pups and most were neutered by and all are seen by this vet. We come in excited every time because we are greeted so warmly and love to hear our pups are healthy! And when they are not the problems are solved with no worries! This has happened on quite a few occasions. New pups had hookworms, and eye infections it was awful. And our Amilia has multiple health issues the poor thing was found in a dumpster as a puppy, but Dr. D'ambrose has solved everything and all pups are doing great!! We could not recommend this office enough. Special shoutout to Dr. D'ambrose and Lyan his assistant! However everyone there is truly sincere and kind...we just love them all! Take your furkids to the best place you can, and for us this is it. We are so fortunate to have them.

REVIEW: I had put off getting my baby kitty with a new practice. Admittedly, it was a combination of things (kitty had just been seen in November with no health issues, hates the vet, and just lost our other cat), where I really was dragging on that process. My husband's coworker referred us to Chain of Lakes Animal Clinic. She was really happy with them, and we figured we'd give them a shot with their near perfect reviews. My kitty had excessively groomed off a piece of fur, and I really wanted to have her seen ASAP. Maryann was so kind and very detailed in the new patient process. I first talked to her late in the afternoon. The policy about waiting about three weeks (for new appointments) makes sense because there's only a finite amount of time, and it seems like they want to make sure to set aside time for established patients. There is also a prepayment since they explained that there had been an uptick of cancellations last minute (also makes sense because that's a spot that can't always be filled). One VERY helpful point is that they reach out to your previous vet and get prior medical records from the old vet. Solid way to make sure they know the best way to take care of your furry family member. So I made my appointment three weeks out, but I also asked to be put on a waitlist. In the mean time, I was given some recommendations about the potential cause for the hair loss. Turns out they were right about the hair loss, so we got that issue taken care of. But I STILL wanted my kitty to be seen. I was called around 11 a.m., and they left a voicemail telling me a cancellation had come up. The one minor gripe I had was not telling me what the potential appointment time (2:45 p.m.) was so I could try to coordinate if someone could bring kitty in for a visit. But so minor given the TLC in other aspects. My overall wait time had been just less than a week (from filling out the paperwork to getting seen as a new patient). My husband was the one who brought our kitty in for a visit, so his short review was that our kitty did very well at the vet. I was so surprised because she usually hates the vet. Everything was very thorough, and he was really pleased with the visit. They also followed up via text four days later to see how my kitty was responding to treatment. So so so happy to see this. Please don't change that. Thank you guys for giving me such reassurance after leaving my previous vet practice under horrible circumstances. I am definitely not regretting my change.

Yes great vet and office. Kind to kitties. A little out of the way for us. But I like them!!read more

I have so much to say about Kirkman Road Veterinary Clinic…read more Our 6-year-old Goldendoodle, Luna, became very sick and was struggling to breathe when we brought her in. We were cared for by Dr. Collins and her assistant Grace, and I truly cannot say enough about their compassion. When we had to make the heartbreaking decision to put Luna down, they sat on the floor with us, comforted us, and showed so much kindness and love to our dog. They wrapped her paws in gauze with a small heart so we wouldn't have to see the IVs, and gently wrapped her in a blanket so I could hold her as she peacefully went to sleep. They never rushed us and supported us through every moment. Weeks later, we received a beautiful card with Luna's paw print and nose print, along with handwritten notes from the entire staff. It meant more than I can express. In one of the hardest moments of our lives, they treated us and our dog like family. That kind of compassion stays with you, and we will never forget it.

Very distressing experience during an already difficult time…read more Our dog passed away, and we clearly stated--multiple times to at least three different staff members--that only our dog and a small photograph were to be cremated. Each time, we were told "okay" and understood. However, we were later informed that the bed and blankets had also been cremated--without our authorization. When we went to pick up our dog's belongings, before we said anything, a staff member stated that we had requested this, which is not accurate. All we want is to receive all of our dog's cremated remains. If additional items were cremated with her, we expect all resulting ashes to be returned to us in full. This situation reflects a serious breakdown in communication and documentation, and it has been deeply upsetting for our family.

The staff took the carrier and cleaned it up and lined it with puppy pads for the return trip home. How awesome is that!! We have recently adopted a kitten that was a rescue by one of the staff members. It's clear to us by the way things were handled that the entire staff here truly cares about taking care of our furry friends. They have helped us with our new fur babies and we really feel like they are always there for us during our transition and getting these critters good and healthy. Bless the entire staff here at Winter Garden Animal Hospital... and just know that your pet will be in very good hands.

During a visit for my 11-year-old dog, I was by Dr. MacDonald that my dog has liver cancer with multiple tumors, congestive heart failure and that euthanasia should be considered. No biopsy or referral to a specialist was offered and I was not shown or walked through the ultrasound results. I was told no follow-up appointments were needed and was given euthanasia pamphlets. I left completely devastated. After the visit, I called the clinic requesting my dog's records. Because the file is under another name, communication had to go through that person. When we received the records, they did not mention cancer or the ultrasound findings. We were initially told the ultrasound recordings were not available. I had to request the records again through email and specifically ask for the ultrasound findings. Eventually, we received notes referencing a "suspected" liver or splenic mass and stating that my dog was vomiting which was not true. The notes also mentioned seeing a specialist if interested but this was never discussed during the visit. I also had major difficulties with my dog's heart medication. I was told that refills typically take 24 to 48 hours and that heart medications are usually expedited. Since refills cannot be processed over the weekend, we had to wait until Monday to call. We emphasized that this was a heart-related medication, were told the request would be expedited and submitted the request on 12/22 around 8:15 a.m. It took two days and a call from the office /practice manager before we could pick up her medication on Christmas Eve. Because of the delay, we had to go to VEG to get my dog's medication and she was in distress. Since starting the treatment plan we had to request because we did not agree to euthanasia, my dog has been doing great. She is eating, drinking, playing and going to the bathroom normally. We were referred to an internal medicine specialist and a cardiologist by another vet for a second opinion. The internal medicine specialist confirmed that my dog does NOT have cancer and walked us through each ultrasound finding step by step. We also have an upcoming appointment with the cardiologist. Our experience highlighted serious concerns. The first suggestion was euthanasia rather than further investigation. No referrals or second opinions were offered. Communication around records and critical medication was slow and inconsistent. While the staff may have had good intentions, this experience has been distressing and costly. My dog is doing well thanks to proper follow-up care but I hope the clinic takes steps to prevent similar situations for other pet owners.

I had no problem doing so. I recieved an email from them confirming the appointment and if I needed to cancel or reschedule to call them. The morning of my appointment, my dog took a severe turn for the worse. I knew she was dying before my eyes. I personally left my dogs side to go to the clinic to talk to them about changing the appointment to the euthanasia procedure later that day. The cost was very high and out of my range for them to provide this service. I declined and politely asked for a refund of the security deposit. The secretary at the desk denied me the refund. I told her my dog was dying and I am here cancelling the appointment. She then said, "All deposits are non refundable". I was far too distressed to argue and left to get back to my dog. Approximately 7 hours later, my dog died. I felt it necessary to warn others of this companies refund policy when booking an appointment. Although I am certain they provide an excellent service, one that I will never be able to experience, they have a lot to learn about how to treat their customers when it comes to distress, heartache and trauma after losing a beloved pet. I did send an email out this morning to WIndermere Veterinary Services about my discontent. Whether they reply back to me, or not, is irrelevant at this point. It was the owner who had the secretary inform me I would not be getting my refund back. It was THIS decision that was made which prompted this ONE STAR REVIEW. I wish them well, but warn other potential customers to beware of their hidden policies. I do not know what else they will hide from you financially, but I have never in my 13 years with my dog been treated with such disrespect in a moment of complete trauma and turmoil. Sorry Windermere Veterinary Clinic. I really thought you would do better.
