This place has massively improved over the course of several months. I moved here last summer and this was the closest, cheapest Chinese place to my school. But the noodles were bland and dry, and the food, though voluminous to the point of overflowing the container, was not up to par with my favorite Chinese restaurant, Lucky Chinese in Fountain Valley. I'm delighted to say that the restaurant has reinvented itself at the time of writing. The still stupendously massive portions reward the tongue with every bite. The chow mein is bouncy and full of life, with a glossy sheen that was not there before. Best of all, the prices, despite inflation, have remained constant since I first arrived. The family that runs the restaurant is nice, and the place is clean. I wish them the best and hope the place continues to make process improvements. read more

I was craving egg flower soup so decided to try this place out. I also got a small serving of beef and broccoli because it looked freshly made. I got it to go. The beef and broccoli was very tasteful. The egg flower soup on the other hand wasn't. It was very bland. It was missing flavor. One thing I liked tho was that they put tofu in there. Just another run-of-the-mill, cheap, hole-in-the-wall Chinese takeout joint. We all know the procedure, walk in, choose your food, pay, and go away. The food is your usual Chinese-American: fried rice, chow mein, beef & broccoli, Kung pao chicken, etc. Most of the items are under heatlamps that get replenished every so often but some items can be made to order. The food is nothing to gasm about but gets the job done. Quality is consistent, it's a bit better at Panda Express though. Portion sizes depend on who serves you. The older employees (I'm guessing the owners?) are more stingy. They're nice most of time but there are days when they're grumpy. The younger employees pack the boxes to the gills and are consistently nice. Most of time I get the younger employees, and in either scenario I have enough for two meals, while at Panda Express they're stingy all the time and I barely get two meals. Customer service SUCKS! The girls are rude as hell. I usually always come here but as of today I will take my business elsewhere. They took my bf order and put the boxes down then said she'll be with you but instead she decided to turn around and eat. Then told him to pay even though they had not served any of the food. Then they finally bring out the chow main which was what we where waiting for and started to serve other people who just walked in while he was standing there waiting. He had to tell her hello I paid already and she said okay but continue to serve other people when he said it again. I have paid already. Where to start? I've been a long time golden dragon fan and can't ever go back to Panda Express or other Chinese food locations for orange chicken. It's hands down, the best. And I've had Chinese food everywhere including the Bay, LA and Seattle. The portions are enormous - so you can fill up for the rest of the day or have half and save the rest for later. They've done an excellent job with keeping the food and service quality up despite the troubling economy in CA. As I said, my personal favorite is orange chicken so I'd highly recommend that but there's many more options! Keep it up Golden D. read more

I love this place. The girls are so friendly and very talkative. I've been coming here since I moved to San Bernardino back in '11 but lately I haven't seen the girls and the old Chinese or Japanese lady, whatever she is, has been really rude and aside from that the food has tasted like chemicals. A few weeks ago my husband and I went to have dinner, when my husband asked for the sauces she gave him a very nasty attitude and said to take them from the table behind us, when I turned atriums there was a family eating and using the sauces she even though she had more behind her and there wasn't any on the empty tables she insisted that he get the ones that were being occupied. Fast forward to today. Again my husband and I went to have dinner, since this is our favorite place for Chinese food we decided to let the old hags attitude slide since we never had much to complain about the place. Big mistake. Even though it was empty she seemed very impatient, she wanted me to order my food as fast as lighting, after I told her what combo I wanted she kept saying what else what else with such a snappy voice. After my husband ordered his food and was about to pay I asked her if she could give me sweet and sour sauce for my rolls. To this she answered "I'll give it to you once you pay", might I add very rudely. I didn't say anything about it, she then proceeded to hand my the try with food and INSTRUCT me where to sit, I gave her a wait look and she proceeded to tell me where to sit telling me "I told you to put your try in that table" by then I was very annoyed, if I wanted to be bossed around by an old lady I could have just gone to have dinner with the in laws. I was upset by then and gave her a stank eye and sat down, far away from where she told me to sit. Once we started eating I noticed my husband had more food than me. And I paid the extra $1 for the BBQ pork, it seemed like she was giving food to the homeless with how much food my plate had compared to my husbands. Again, I didn't make much of it, i wasn't gonna finish it all in one sit. We weren't even half way done with our food when my husband said he got disgusted, he said the food tasted weird, we blew it off thinking he might just be full but then I took a bite. The rice tasted like chemicals! I spit it out and tried for the BBQ pork, the few pieces the dam old hag put, and again tastes wrong. I then tried to eat some of the chow main, but how can you eat chow main when it looked like I was having a salad, I could only see pure vegetables! I was so upset! I paid $20 for food that tasted like shit and chow main that didn't have any noodles at all. I tired to turn a blind eye but once I got home I threw it all up with in 10 minutes. I don't think I'll be going to that place again even though it's been a favorite for a while. I've been here a couple of times since I work close by. I usually don't have any major issues with this place. It's nothing amazing but not bad either, okay if you want to get a quick lunch. The quality of the food have always been okay and the portion sizes are generous. The reason I chose to write a review finally after being here many times is due to the poor customer service we received today. The girl taking our order initially missed heard what I said, when I corrected her, instead of agreeing with me and giving me what I wanted she started to argue and insisted that I had told her something else. After that it was all attitude. Very unpleasant. Also when giving me the utensils, she grabbed the tip of the fort and placed it on my plate, also not very appetizing. No thank you, no have a good day, nothing. One grabbing food from this shopping center I always choose between this place and a Hawaiian barbecue a couple of doors down.
