I have two high energy pit mixes whose leash reactivity had gotten worse in the past half year, and it had reached a point where it was unmanageable because they would start barking and lunging at other dogs even from a healthy distance. I met with a few trainers to get a sense of their methods and styles, and Ceslie felt like the best match because of how she took the extra time to know my dogs and understand their behavior before recommending a plan, compared to others who jumped into training without asking many questions. There was a noticeable difference in how my dogs responded to Ceslie after their first class. She was thoughtful in customizing a plan that fit their needs, from teaching proper corrections to reinforcing obedience to providing the right equipment. She also taught me how to be a better handler (something often overlooked in training!), and it's truly strengthened my relationship with my pups. We had weekly sessions over the course of a month and there has been significant improvement in my dogs' behavior. Walks are stress-free and enjoyable again because we're able to bypass other dogs without issues, their door etiquette has improved, and we're now slowly working on their separation anxiety (slow and steady process but we're making progress!). Reynaldo is a dog whisperer and seems to have a great bond with dogs. He's able to do the French poodle cut with no problem, so I started coming here. The price here is also a bit cheaper than MP, which is nice. The best part about coming here? You get to hang out for a bit with a dozen other well-behaved, sweet dogs. I kind of want to ask him if it's cool that I buy coffee and hang out here to do work. You know how there's cat cafes? This place is like the dog cafe version of that!

Leon runs the best neighborhood spot for pups of all ages to meet and have fun with one another! Leon was great about getting her accustomed to the space and did a really wonderful job the first day of letting her gradually meet friendly dogs one-on-one in her own little spot before mixing her with the group. Now when we're on walks instead of running away from the other dogs she keeps trying to get us to walk towards them! She has gotten so much more comfortable and better socialized. She also loves Leon and Bonnie and runs into their arms without really paying me any mind when I go to drop her off. I also really appreciate how they take the time to tell me how she did and who she played with. Leon even sends me photos on my phone because I don't have Instagram. Staff stated they had no idea what happened to him, so I can only assume they leave the dogs to watch themselves. Now our 1 year old otherwise healthy dog needs surgery and we have no idea what happened. This is why you sign a waiver, I suppose. So, we paid $23 for two hours of doggie daycare and now we're out thousands.

I hope The Animal Connection with do the right thing by transition to rescue-only and partner with local rescues to help get animals adopted who needs homes, and stop buying/selling any animals from breeders/breeding mills. The entire team is AMAZING. They're consistently on time, incredibly communicative, thoughtful, and absolutely hilarious. The pictures, jokes, and stories they send throughout the day regularly have me falling off my chair laughing. Asher is a bit of an older gentleman, and they're so attentive to his individual needs, whether that means taking it easy on hot days or making sure he's socializing with other well-behaved pups in their carefully curated playgroups. And if you need proof of just how much these people love their dogs, when Asher was sick and spent a few days in the dog hospital, the entire Sniff crew sent him a get-well-soon gift. I can't even express how much that meant to me. I also travel often for work, and knowing Asher has a second home at Camp Sniff with Heather and her family takes an enormous mental load off my plate. The pictures of him adventuring around Fort Funston, hanging with his dog friends, and generally living his best life are priceless.
