Golden Crown is a Tiffin staple, but is only on par with most Asian restaurants geared toward the American pallete. The service is always great, but the food is typically hit-or-miss. They have all of the standard Americanized dishes that you'd expect, and they are mostly adept at preparing them with little variation. My biggest complaint with them is their phones. WHY DO YOU ONLY HAVE ONE LINE? Every time I call for pick up, I either get a busy signal, a prompt that "the customer I've tried to reach is not available", or a fax sound. How is that even possible? How much business do can you suppose they lose from frustrated callers? Quite a bit, if I had to guess. Like I said before, they are your typical Asian joint with little flair. I love their moo goo gai pan as it is the best I have found. Also their crab ragoon is awesome. They only offer pick up now and from what the staff says they won't be opening their doors anytime soon for sit down dining. I have always used take out with the exception of one time. I have never had any issue with bad food and i go there at least once a month if not more. The prices have increased from what yelp has posted but the menu has also. They still give great quality food and my favorite chinese food for sure. read more

I wouldn't leave a star but I HAD to, to leave a review! Months back my family & I ordered some carry out (of course since for some odd reason they just WONT open dine in again!? Smh!!) but we ALL got sick! Including my 5 year old. Haven't been back since tonight July 25th I order some food the prices are WAY higher in the actual restaurant then online!! HEY GOLDEN CROWN update your online menu! Would be much better to know higher prices for such horrible quality food BUT one of the only Chinese we have in tiffin unfortunately REAL close to my house maybe 20 houses away! Well she proceeded to tell me there's a whole delivery charge! WHAT?! Seriously! For being not even 20 houses away? And then your delivery people want a tip I tip if that? Probably not. Not from this girl. Sorry, NOT sorry! AND then she proceeded to tell me after I say oh no cancel that "Well I already ran your card so it'll take a day or two to get back on there" real snotty... I have eaten here many times over the past 15 years, so it pains to me to say this is one of those "hit or miss" restaurants where your visit will vary greatly by visit. The staff is usually fairly friendly but the biggest issue with this place is their hours! Warning! You never know what their hours are! They will not correct the hours on the front door, the hours listed on Yelp are completely wrong and every time you call in and ask when they close you get a different answer...it's maddening! On a recent Sunday night visit, I called ahead they said they were open till 10, fine so we get there at 8:45, they said their dining room closes at 9 and were not going to let us in. Because we traveled from Indy and I was really hungry for the Hot & Sour Soup, I argued yes literally had an argument with them so they let us stay. (My wife was shocked I stayed but I really wanted the soup and its not something you can exactly eat in the car on the trip back to another state). Obviously it was not very pleasant and felt rushed the whole time even though they were taking, delivering & allowing pickups of carry out orders and said they would until 10pm! I felt bad for the 3 other parties that came in to eat and were turned away! So there you have it...this could easily be a 4 to 5 star restaurant based on their food and atmosphere. Tiffin is lacking in restaurant delivery options, and Golden Crown is one of the few. It is the ONLY asian-esque restaurant that offers delivery in town, but they don't start delivering until 5pm. That being said, the food is worth the wait. I generally get Sweet and Sour Chicken and General Tso's with Lo Mein instead of rice. The eggrolls are the best in town. read more

Disappointing. Don't remember it being bad last year. Not a good taste for the sweet and sour sauce. My fortune cookie was stale. Asked for a to go cup to put my iced tea in. They don't have to go cups.... Really? Won't be going back. The place was almost empty. Too bad. Tiffin needs more good restaurants. read more

I visited this restaurant in December 2016 while visiting family in the area. I ordered to go and waited for my food. First thing I noticed is that they do not have any combos with General Tso's chicken on the menu. This is typically a staple at all chinese restaurants! You have to buy a pint of it if you want it! To summarize my visit: While sitting waiting for my food, I listened to multiple waitresses talk junk about some local guy and how one of them should not go on a date with the guy. I learned that one of the waitresses likes guys with beards but not a full beard, only enough to cover his face. How did I learn all of this information? Because they were talking so loud that anyone in the restaurant could hear them. Nobody seemed to care. I see this as being very unprofessional. Moving on to the food-- Teriyaki Chicken- This was NOT teriyaki chicken. I am assuming the locals have never had Teriyaki chicken before because this was chicken in some sort of soy sauce with vegetables that appeared to be from a frozen stir fry mix from Aldi. Egg Roll- The egg rolls smelled freezer burnt and I kid you not, the cabbage in them was GREY in color. Crab Rangoon- They were extremely dry and overcooked. When I next visit family in Tiffin, I will be going to other Chinese restaurants. I pity the poor folks of Tiffin if this is what you think chinese food is supposed to be. I love Golden Crown. One of the better places to get food from in Tiffin. We love the potstickers, egg rolls, veggie fried rice, and sweet & sour chicken. If you like hot stuff ask for the table mustard. Great for dipping egg rolls..just need a little-this stuff will clear your sinuses! read more

I'm not the biggest Chinese fan ever. But this place offered a good lunch. My boyfriend and I didn't realize the meals come with fried rice. So we had a crap ton of fried rice at our table. Everything was good though. The rice from me was a little dry but all in all its a God sort for Chinese. Would have like a fortune cookie at the end of the meal though. read more

I used to come here all the time with my grandparents and family. After my Grandfather's funeral, my uncle took us out here as a pick me up. It's delicious, the staff is very kind, and it was just what we needed. My only criticism is that it usually takes a while for the food to get to the table. read more

The pepper steak used to come with tomatoes. I've had to ask the last 2 visits, but the staff was very accommodating. I wouldn't say the food is spectacular, but it's good. It's a favorite of friends and family so I enjoy going there with them. And it's nice that the restaurant is on the east end. read more

I remember this restaurant vividly and will never go back to the shit hole. I ordered lo mein and got La Choy (The crappy stuff you can buy at a grocery store for like $2 if that). I asked them if this is seriously their lo mein and was told yes. I have traveled across seas and have never experienced crappy La Choy from anywhere else even other local Chinese restaurants. The staff was unpleasant even got a sigh when we asked to sit down then blank stare ordering. The cooks and waitress weren't trained for anything special clearly as they couldn't accomplish simple tasks or even try to be authentic trying.
