Someone said this is the best fried chicken in town , I hope not. I expected more from Oklahoma. I was visiting family that moved here last year and one day for lunch I decided to come and get some takeout. I got the Breast and Wing 2 Piece Dinner to go with Dirty Rice and Roll. The menu is pretty good sized and they also have Rotisserie Chicken , not just fried. Chicken Tenders and Chicken Sandwiches also. They have about 10 different sides to choose from. The chicken was cooked good , but was underwhelming. It was very plain and I did ask for one of the sauces to try , but of course it wasn't in the bag when I got home. The Dirty Rice was a little stronger taste than most places make theirs. It was okay. The Roll of course was big and fluffy. Definitely pre-packaged , not a freshly made roll or biscuit. Since it was my first time coming to a Golden Chick I looked at the menu for a bit and told the cashier it was my first time and he didn't try to rush me or be rude. There were no other customer at the time. After I ordered one did come in. They also do a 10% Discount for Veterans and Civil Servants which I think is great since so many places don't do it as much as they used to. I really don't see myself coming to another Golden Chick when I visit my family again. I think their are better choices out there. The price was reasonable , but the food was just too plain for me. read more

I came here because I was craving fried shrimp and mashed potatoes with white gravy. As it turns out, golden chick carries both! I got the surf n turf with a side of mashed potatoes. The chicken strips were miniature sized and the worst I've ever had. The shrimp had no flavor. Both were cold. It was only edible if doused in sauce, which was also cheapy "kens" brand. The mashed potatoes only had a tiny splash of gravy on it... unfortunate because it was the main reason I came. The soda was flat. I asked my boyfriend how his was and he said bad and didn't even finish it all. They gave him the wrong sides. I've only been to golden chick once(the 23rd St location). It was awful too. Same cold, bland food. It's my fault for trying it again. To top it all off, it was $25 for 2 small meals with flat drinks. $25 is a lot of money to waste. It's really unfortunate how this turned out. I grew up eating at golden chick and the location that I go to has been open for 30 years. I was so excited to find out that Yukon has this. The quality of the food in my opinion is garbage. The chicken tenders had no flavor to it and really salty. The fries were gross and again no flavor to it. I was not able to finish this meal because of how plain it was. The only thing i enjoyed was the rolls and sweet tea. Please do better because it's a shame that this location can't be on par with the ones down in Texas. read more

I've been to this location 2 times. Both times have been excellent. The Customer service was decent. I perfer my chicken to be really well done. I asked them for super well done tenders and I got Super well done tenders the chicken was just how i liked it well done Perfectly overcooked the way i love it. I would come back for more chicken. I get 1 tender and 2 grilled legs It was like 8 bucks ish not bad The tender was so good tho.. Would reccomend this location is better then the other locations ive been to. Lots of complimentary spicy attitude, but no sauce for the food.. We've lived here three years and never desired to try the chain until my wife had a craving for tenders. Despite the reviews about the terrible attitude, which I took with a grain of salt, we tried it. A young blonde female clearly wasn't happy with us being there. At first I thought it was just a problem with the intercom, until we got to the window. Our patronage was clearly inconvenient and unappreciated by the window service representative. One could not have communicated any less with out being medically diagnosed as a mute. No thank you, no have a nice evening, and definitely no offer for any sauces to force down the dated and thoroughly window heated , dated, and dehydrated sub-par food product with. This was around 8:30 -8:45pm on a Sunday, 17DEC2023. The food was clearly not cooked to order. Her tenders and the fries must have sat under a heat lamp for a long time, and the mash potatoes were more like porridge. This visit has ruined the chain as a whole for us. If you are thinking about visiting this place, you would be better off smacking yourself in the face , calling yourself bad names before dumpster diving in the KFC parking lot. read more

Deserves less than one star. Guy at the window was actually nice(he was high af though). Guy from in the back will literally get angry enough to fight, if you come back through for sauces they didn't give you. Thank god I didn't bother mentioning they didn't give us our drinks and our orders were incorrect. Chicken was old and rolls were undercooked and doughy. Should avoid this place at all costs. Hubby and I were out running errands and he decided "let's drive through". He got the fish and I go chicken tenders. He got coleslaw with his. Dry as a bone. No dressing just some chopped up cabbage. No tarter sauce for his fish. Didn't help either that the young man taking our order was rude. Hubby ordered his food. Told the young man hold on, have another order but the kid already tabbed out. One star for being open during a pandemic, two starts because it tasted okay with the exception of the shrimp. But that's it, the portions suck as the employees don't care what they are pushing out the window as long as it goes at the window. DO NOT ORDER THE SHRIMP! It is a rip-off and they do not know how to cook it and overcook the life out of it. They were casino chips with tails. Very hit or miss. I honestly don't know why I still give it a chance bc it is miss more so than hit. But when it's fresh it's sooo good. Went two days ago and they were out of fries. Went tonight and they were out of anything fried (except the chicken because they made it a while back they said). Lol like why even stay open? This business could do great, unfortunately corporate has let it be mismanaged. Yesterday I had the displeasure of witnessing a Karen related incident in the drive through. The woman was ahead of us in the drive through and berated the workers at the order box, payment window, and the pick up window. Even after dealing with that all the employees were professional, friendly and worked to get us our food quickly. They actually brought us our food to the payment window because the woman having a meltdown would not move from the pick up window. While I never expect TOO much from a fast food place, I expect to get food that is edible. I visited this location earlier this evening only to realize when I got home (I don't live far away) the food appeared to have been cooked hours ago and possibly in old grease. The fries were hard as a rock and when you did bite into them they were "empty". I couldn't bite through the chicken at all, if you want to call it chicken because the tinders were skinnier and smaller than my fingers, and when pulled apart it didn't look like chicken at all. The roll tasted as though it had a layer of dust sitting on it and don't get me started on the green beans and Mac and cheese. So highly disappointing. I typically don't leave reviews, but felt after three times I needed too. I usually don't have a problem with food, but this location has gotten my order entirely wrong three times back to back. Which I would necessarily mind if it weren't for the attitudes the staff have. Always rude. Never willingly to help. And judging by the previous reviews, it's been an issue for a few years. There was a time when Golden Chic had the best fried chicken... not any more. My wife stopped for take out. It was the worst. The chicken was not golden, it was more of a very dark brown, and tasted burnt. The rolls were dry, and the fries tasted like they were cooked yesterday and kept under a heat lamp. I went in at 1:30pm and they had a ton of chicken tenders cooked and under the heat lamp. Kinda strange to have that much chicken already cooked and sitting there after the lunch rush. Maybe it was a slow lunch day and they are gonna throw some out. They must have cooked it a while ago because my chicken tenders weren't hot. I asked for some hot ones and sent mine back. Instead of them cooking some fresh for me all the employees sat around my chicken poking and prodding at it and talking about it instead of trying to please me first. I gave it one star because I couldn't leave zero stars. I ordered the catfish dinner it was obvious the catfish pieces had been cut in half, maybe even in thirds lengthwise. The coleslaw in a 3 oz bathroom size paper cup was warm. Roll was OK but they had no butter or cocktail sauce. The Diet Pepsi was flat. They don't answer their phone. I paid $9.75 plus tax for the cat fish dinner. Not even enough food for a 2 year old child. Complete RIP OFF. Spent my supper money on a MEAL that wasn't even a snack. All this after I had to wait 7 minutes for the fish to fry. My co-worker ordered 4 chicken tenders ala carte. He got three and they were cold. They didn't have any catsup or BBQ sauce. He was smart and brought a bottle of water from home. Total waste of money! Couldn't go back we would have been late for work. Security guards having to relieve other guards on time. I gave this place three tries. strike, they're out! The staff was friendly though. The fried chicken and chicken tenders were just ok..barely. The fried catfish was tasteless and watery, not juicy and it wasn't grease, the actual fish was watery. The cole slaw was warm and had no flavor. The noodles in the mac and cheese was mush and the cheese was gritty. The dirty rice tasted like dirt and it was extremely spicy. The rice was way overcooked to the point it was mushy and there was water in it. The mashed potatoes were also water and thin. I took the dirty rice and mac and cheese back in to get my money back and they argued with me about it and made excuses. I was tired so I accepted the chocolate chip cookies as an exchange. Those weren't even that good. Now, the yeast rolls were tasty, but that's not gonna get me to go back for the fourth time. They advertise the raspberry lemonade is just the right amount of sweet and sour. I don't know what they're drinking because there wasn't anything sweet about it. We just got back from Golden Chick, and I have to say this will be the last time we come here. We've only eaten here one other time, last time we ordered a chicken sandwich and felt the sandwich was rather small for full price. So, we decided to stick with chicken tenders this time. I ordered original, my boyfriend ordered spicy. We actually repeated that a couple of times because the gentleman at the window was having a difficult time with our order. So you'd think it was correct. Wrong. They were both spicy, which I was willing to shrug off once we got home and realized this. Then I started eating the chicken, after picking it up I could already tell the quality was poor, it was cool to the touch, no warmth whatsoever. The chicken was dry, mostly crunchy. Absolutely horrible! I attempted calling the store to log a complaint, I called twice with no answer. So, I decided to go out of my way and download yelp, just to write this review. Yes, we read the previous reviews of this restaurant and decided to give it a try since we were staying less than three blocks away. We went in somewhat apprehensive and on the alert for the rude person(s). What we encountered was exactly the opposite. We observed two difference shifts of people interact with the customers. They displayed a very customer focus approach. Food was served amazingly quick. We enjoyed both of the entrees that we ordered and without a doubt would return to the restaurant again. It appears this restaurant has worked out their start up difficulties. For those of you who had a negative review of this restaurant, you might want to give them another chance. read more

Always slow service here but good chicken so I've returned but I've done so for the last time. The manger, Kelsey, bless her heart, wiped her nose with a wadded up tissue in her right hand while handling my food with her left at the drive in window. I waited 20 minutes in the slow drive thru, only to be told that they stupidly couldn't sell me the 6 rolls I ordered in case someone behind me needed to purchase some. So confusing why that genius, quality management decision seemed correct ! There seemed to be plenty of employees wandering aimlessly around inside to serve a customer properly if they just put their minds to it. It was my first visit to this place. I was a bit apprehensive but willing to give it a try. Had to use the drive thru, no biggie. Me and my husband ordered the spicy chicken sandwich combo. We stopped just down the road so we could eat. Much to my surprise we both looked at each other and said "they got our order wrong!" So we go back to the drive thru and wait.......once we get to the window we tell the nice lady that are order was wrong. She asked what was wrong and we told here that we ordered the spicy chicken sandwich but these were original. She then proclaimed that she could give us more spicy packets to put on our sandwich. I asked, you don't make spicy chicken?, she said no. I laughed and we drove off. This was the saddest sandwich I had ever seen, nothing but two pieces of chicken with a little bit of some sort of sauce sprinkled in the middle on a roll. I was not impressed, at all, by their food. After three visits I will not be going back. The first visit the wait to get my meal was horrible about 10 minutes too long. The second time the assistant manager yelled at me because he couldn't hear me through the drive-through because of the traffic on interstate 40. That's not my fault if you can't hear me because when I spoke up then he accuse me of yelling at him. Called the manager at that point. That was a year ago so today I decided to go back and give it one more try . I was told there would be an eight minute wait for my fish that turned into a 15 minute wait for my fish and that was after I went back around through the drive-through again and ask how much longer. I pride myself in finding the good in 99% of the places I review but try as I might this place is just a disaster. Rude service person at the order speaker. This is a chain operation and yet they don't have all the options listed on the order board/online menu and then they were rude again at the window. Food was so poorly prepared I had to throw it out.
