My husband & I ate lunch from here today. We ordered the Big & Golden chicken sandwich, and it was sooooo good! I was sad when I finished the last bite. I was taking small bites so it would last longer. The buns is light & airy, chicken fried to perfection and the sauce is the kicker! It has a bite to it, in a very good/yummy way. Went through the drive through, several cars in front of me, and the wait was very short. Food piping hot! Service friendly. Had a side of shrimp and it was very hot/good also. Very impressed. We have lived in the area for 28 yrs and have gotten food from here a handful of times, but after today, we will visit a lot more often. I have had the catfish before and it was super tasty also. That chicken sandwich is the golden ticket! read more

rude employees with seemingly no real direction or leadership. places get busy, but there are supposed to be methods to make the customer experience still good. you definitely don't tell people "well you ordered at a busy time so park and we'll find you" ridiculous read more

Wow!! Just wow!!! So much wrong here last night 8/29/25. Pulled up to the drive-thru at roughly 8:02pm, two cars in front of me. Waited for 7-8 minutes and each drives off, lights are still on and no one around anywhere inside. I drive up to the window...2-3 minutes, no one around. I park to walk in and see a worker on their phone in a booth. Doors are locked, worker gets up and goes to hide in the kitchen, I circle around to the drive-thru again, worker has now gone back to the eating area and sat down, I pull up to the side door by the drive-thru window and it is open, I walk in and ask "is anyone working here"? I find out the worker speaks no English, he runs in the back and knocks on a door where a worker who identifies himself as the manager and another worker have been hiding out, both of them looked shocked that someone is in the restaurant...I think they didn't realize the side door was open and they had decided to just close up shop around 8:00pm and not have to work the last hour the store was open. The manager says oh sorry I'm the only one here working, (as if the other worker just miraculously wasn't there to work), if you'll go back to the drive thru I'll help you. As I walk out he tells the non English speaking worker "No Bueno". By now it is around 8:25pm, four other cars are in line and waiting as well. What a joke, lazy is an understatement, why have staff that speak no English?, Why were the manager and the only other worker there besides the non-English speaking employee in a locked room together? Why did no one have a headset on to listen to the drive-thru? Why were the doors all locked during business hours? etc..etc.. Every time I stop at a Golden Chick I remind myself why I say never again...it's always something with this brand and the customer service, on top of the invisible employees they didn't have half the food on the menu available, and made no attempt to cook because it would take 15-20 minutes to make chicken. The understaffing excuse sounds like a managerial issue that needs to be addressed, closing early just to leave at 9:00pm when the doors have hours until 10:00pm, no chicken cooked to fill orders, and a general lack of care for customer service. SMH...just avoid this place if you have other options. read more

I just spent $3.14 on a roasted chicken thigh that was 3 bites at most. And it was not that great. It has a big piece of chicken fat on it and it was tiny. read more

Drive-through only during the pandemic. I love fried chicken, Golden chick does not disappoint me at all. The chicken is definitely brined, giving the chicken flavor and tenderness no matter if it's the chicken breast or the thigh, it's tender and juicy - very tasty. The breading is light and flaky fried golden brown. This trip I got the 15 piece mix and dinner rolls. I do like their macaroni and cheese, but I had already made sides for this delicious chicken. Service is fast and super friendly. read more

Golden Chick - Delicious 6 piece tenders feeds 2 - Fast Food Near Me - Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

I don't typically bother writing reviews on fast food chains. That's particularly true of those I rarely frequent, such as Golden Chick. My few prior stops have been remarkable only in the consistency with which their food - both chicken and catfish - has been dry, bordering on burnt. So, Chris, why now? Golden Chick just fired a salvo in the chicken sandwich war, shuffling Popeye's out of the top spot. Sidebar: By and large, I dislike chicken sandwiches. For me the meat, sauce and bread is generally a bland, one-note handful of nothing. When I do order one, I have to get the spicy version just so there will be some flavor. That's why you see them putting pickles on all these to give them a bit of contrast. And you never, ever, add cheese. If Golden Chick's Big 'n Golden chicken sandwich were the only thing I'd had, I'd probably go 4.5 stars. It comes with a nice not overly thick piece of fried chicken breast. The crust could have been a bit crunchier, but it was tender, moist and nicely seasoned. There were enough pickles that you got some in every bite. The "Lotta Zing" sauce is milder than the name implies, but it's slight heat really complimented things. Where GC really hit the mark was the yeast roll bun. It brings a pillowy sweetness without going all Hawaiian Roll on you. So give the Big 'n Golden a shot. My trepidation is always that the one you buy will be dry or the bun will be stale. That's the danger of fast food chicken. But the one I've had topped all the rest. read more

Be prepared to wait in a long line wrapped around the building just to receive old food. I specifically ask for butter each time I get rolls and its never in there. On this particular day I received burned and smashed rolls. Oh yea, they were cold and unseparated. Instead of waiting another 20 mins for a refund I figured I'd leave this. Just go somewhere else read more

Had a pregnancy craving..... went here and absolutely regretted it. Chicken was HORRIBLE-not even sure if you can call it over cooked. Absolutely not edible. The fries were horrible. Hard, cold, TERRIBLE. only thing worth eating were the rolls. The rolls that I waited 10 mins for after I was told it would be a 4 min wait. I'll never be back. I'll never go back and neither should you. Corporate needs to look into this location ASAP. email is lex.russell5@gmail.com Happy to speak to my experience further. read more

Ladies working there are all over it. Prompt courteous and helpful. Obviously making the place work. Didn't have any cole slaw. Offered to make some if I could wait. Declined and chose okra. Discounted the order $2 for the trouble. Outstanding! read more

Tried their chicken strips for the first time tonight, very good. The breading is very crispy and crunchy yet not too thick. They are not as moist as Raising Cane's, but somehow are more tender. Seasoning is not as heavy as KFC, but it still provides enough flavor. And they were not one bit greasy. But, just when I thought I had a new favorite fast food strip joint, I met the workers. Let's just say they have a lot to improve when it comes to service. But they sure do know how to cook a mean bird. read more

8 minute wait on chicken.... wouldn't you think SOS will increase your sales with having chicken actually ready to serve. Someone should raise the standards for these places around OKC, haven't seen one that's been impressive. Maybe remove the drive thru, clean up the outside as well the dining room and make this a casual dining atmosphere because I think you are in the wrong business. I went in to order food and use the bathroom. I knocked on the door and no one answered. I asked the girl at the front if the door was locked or if someone was in there since i needed to use the bathroom. They said they dont have public bathrooms. The chicken is not fresh and it is over cooked. It used to be good, but has really gone downhill!

Went to your location in Oklahoma City on 12320 N MacArthur. Just want to tell you that those people there are terrible! My fiancé went inside to order our food - he doesn't do drive through - stood there with another guy for more than 10 minutes to order, and no one even acknowledged his or the other guys' presence. Only one car in the drive-through, and lots of chicken already cooked that he could see. The employees knew he was there, but no one even cared. Very poor way to do business. We love your food, but definitely won't go back. read more

Stopped for a take out order. The chicken was over cooked, and tasted like it was a day old, and reheated. The Cole slaw had a stale taste. When I went to fill my drink cup, there was no ice in the drink machine, and no lids for medium cups. All this after waiting in the drive thru for fifteen minutes without moving. I parked and went inside. Another fifteen minute wait. If you want fast service, avoid this location. read more

Check your order before you leave!!! Mixed 8 piece...they said at 7:30pm, we only have breast and thighs. Drink packed with ice, very little soda. I've been here three times, there won't be a fourth. The slowest, most uncaring and dirtiest facility I've ever seen. I normally go through the drive through, but was so slow today people were leaving the line after my 15 minute wait, so I went inside. Good thing I did, because I saw how filthy it is inside. I just wanted some good chicken. It turned out to be an unpleasant marathon. I ordered a 10 piece leg and thigh bucket. As I paid ,they said please pull forward ,it will be 10-11 minutes. 20 minutes later after 10-12 cars went through I got back in line and asked where my chicken was. I was given an apology and offered a free drink. The young man came back to the window and apologized again saying the carbonation was down and he'd get me one soon. I went to park and my drink was brought to me but the chicken apparently wasn't ready YET. When I asked why I couldn't get chicken they told me ALL these other people were getting tenders. Yeah right! I finally got my chicken and 4 extra rolls but I was there OVER 45 minutes. I only gave a second star because the chicken is good but I think they just forgot I was waiting. I won't wait again. read more

Really fresh tasting chicken & chicken tenders. Not overly greasy. Good sides. I really like their corn nuggets. Okra, mashed potatoes & Mac/Cheese are tasty too. Rolls are light & fluffy. They were a little unprepared for their first day in business at this location, but they were also super busy. (30 people in the store & probably 8-10 cars in Drive-Thru). Other than the delay/wait food was good & I think a solid choice for this area. read more

Ordered $50 worth of food. Got home and half the order was missing and incorrect. We had a family dinner going and was not going to drive back to the restaurant. I reached out to the wrong location at first, which delayed me getting in touch. Finally, I got the correct location and spoke to Shane. I asked for my money back. She screamed at me and hung up on me. I called back and she told me I needed to return the food...knowing this happened 1.5 weeks ago. I told her the food was in the sewer because we had a family event and ate the incorrect order. She said too bad and proceeded to scream at me and then hung up on me again. They screwed my order up and would do nothing to fix it. Shane is unprofessional and has no business managing a restaurant or people. And she has no business being customer service. ZERO STARS.
