We did a dumpling cooking class a couple of years ago now. It literally changed my life!
They taught us how to make 3 types of dumplings, a prawn wonton, prawn/pork dumpling and pork dumplings. We made some dough, quite successfully and used store bought wrappers as well.
It was a really hands on lesson. The dumplings turned out fantastically and we got to eat the fruits of our efforts. They offered a second lesson in another cuisine for a later date at half price too.
Ever since the lesson I have made bulk dumplings and keep them in the freezer for an easy meal. I buy the dumpling skins from the Asian grocer though! I've taught my sister and niece my craft as well.
If they're still operating I would recommend going along. They're really patient and funny teachers. It's a great place to learn! read more
