This is a relatively new take out place. I was surprised by a nice variety of veggies they used in my kung pao pork dish. I was told they do NOT use MSG which is great. I love this restaurant. Food is very good. It's strictly a take out place, although I think they may have one or two tables set up. I try to order different things and haven't had anything that I didn't like. They are on Grub Hub, so I order and pay for it online and then pick it up. They do deliver but I'm only a couple of blocks away so I always go get it. Reasonable prices and very generous portions. They have many items on their menu and will cook special orders for you. read more

My husband and I were looking for a replacement for our sub par performing Silverlake and were not disappointed. A 30 minute wait for delivery produced hot and crispy sesame chicken, by far our favorite out of everything we ordered. The lady over the phone said the sweet and sour was the best(it was very very good) but think second. Crab Rangoon have no green onion but have good flavor and crispness. I've been a regular if this place for some time, and always like the food. Not the best Chinese, but for the price, it's a great option. Lately, they have been really dropping the ball on customer service, been told 20 minutes for carry out and show up on time and 60 minutes later still waiting. That is NOT an acceptable timeframe. Looking at other recent reviews, looks like that may be a recurring issue lately! If I experience the excessive wait time again, it may be time to find another quick chinese food place in the area. Food is good. Not bad for the price. Check your bags before you leave if you're picking up. We've had egg foo young a few times with no sauce, or a completely different menu item from what we ordered on one occasion. Some times egg rolls were missing. I wouldn't recommend egg rolls or similar items like crab rangoon for take out, as they are not hot when you are ready to eat them. The other food makes up for the "not so hot" egg rolls. They might be ok if you eat them in the car on your way home. I live too far for delivery, so I have no comments on that aspect of Golden Bowl. It's Delivery or Take-out. No place to eat really. There is a table or two to sit at when you are waiting for your order, however, it's not really the greatest place to eat-in, although you probably could if you really wanted to. However, I don't think that was the intended purpose of the tables/chairs. Problem: I can't find their nutrition info for menu items. I'd love to continue eating Chicken and Snow Peapods, however, I'm on a diet and unfortunately online sites' nutrition info varies greatly, not just a little bit, depending on where you get it. This place is pretty good and fast for delivery. The Mongolian Beef and General Tso chicken is good, but the sweet and sour chicken was horrible. Way too much breading. They do have good specials and the portions are huge read more

Not a place I would want to go sit down for a meal (absolutely no decor/very small, basically just a spot to pick up food w two small tables). But for delivery or carry out perfect! Highly recommend the tofu vegetable soup. A meal by itself. Light & healthy, without skimping on flavor. Great customer service. Have been back several times already. read more

This place is clean and the food is reasonable. They give large portions and catered to my vegan diet! Loved the veggie fried rice, the lo mein and the spring rolls. Not a fan of the tofu in the brown house sauce. Will be back soon!! read more

We got carry out today for the first time. It was great! Very fresh, very tasty. Had Hot & Sour Soup and Won Ton Soup both very delicious. Also beef with pea pods and sweet and sour chicken. Also delicious! We will be making this our new Chinese restaurant. Will try something different next time and will let you know how that is. read more

I was excited to try this restaurant as it's always great to have a good local Chinese take out. I had a restaurant.com certificate and so I ordered much more than I would have normally in a trial run, only to have my certificate declined when I went to pick up my food! I was told they no longer do business with restauant.com and that I could 'call to ask for my money back'...I just stood there dumbfounded as I underscored I'd expect them to still honor the deal...you'd at least think they'd offer some kind of consolation for this issue. Had I known, I could have used one of the coupons they sent with their menu. My husband feels it is a bait and switch approach. The food was okay, but there are too many other options out there for Chinese food that I will not return to this particular vendor. I wonder sometimes if companies realize the cost of losing potential future dollars to save in the short-term. I also got an email today that they have a groupon - I had to laugh at that - will they even accept it or is it just to get people to call in an order?? Very disappointing! read more

It has been a while since I have placed an order at Golden Bowl. They give very large portions of food for the price. I ordered the pad thai as I always do and always with an extra 1 or 2 side of chili paste sauce since I can't possibly consume this large of a plate. I have never been charged for my 1oz cup of chili sauce and all of a sudden I was charged $2.50 for this? I had sent someone to go and pick up my order and when I received it, I took some of it out and started to eat it. It looked the same as before, although they have added mushrooms and broccoli to it this time because of I only wanted the vegetarian dish, instead of meat or seafood with it, which I have never done before. Immediately I could tell that the noodles have been sitting for quite some time, whether it was out in the open or the package just had been opened and unused for quite some time and possibly just put with the rest of the noodles they had so that they could get rid of it. I know how to make my own pasta by hand, so I know from experience that this was just a bad batch. That is terrible! I am not sure what has happened to this place if it has changed owners or what, but I used to order from them for quite some time and this is the last time I will ever place an order from them ever again. You are better off going down the street, to the Japanese elegant restaurant than this place ever again! Very Unfortunate! read more

Highly disappointing today. Ordered online but my order was never received...had to wait an additional 45 minutes after reordering. Food was cold and sauce had spilt out of container by the time I made it home (less than a mile from the restaurant). Obviously they prepared the food and let it sit in the back while I waited. I wasn't looking for compensation, but an apology or at least paying attention to my order after screwing up once would have been appreciated. Lack of customer service and cold food ruined my appetite. read more

We've tried their food a couple of times. Typically you should be able to find something on the menu (especially at a Chinese restaurant) that you like, but that hadn't been the case here. I still gave them two stars because their vegetables are fresh vegetables and look impressive. But that is it. This is one restaurant we don't plan to return to. read more

I ordered the potstickers and the Mongolian three delight. The potstickers were abosolutely disgusting. The breading layer was really think and it had no pleats. The Mongolian three delight had hardly any meat in it. It was mostly just onion. I called to ask why the potstickers had such a ticke breading the manager was rude and unhelpful. He didn't even apologize for the bad experience, he seemed to careless. I will never be ordering from here again!!!! read more

First few times I visited I did not like my orange or sesame chicken. The chicken was always over cooked. It would be very tough. I now ask them not to cook it too long and it comes out a lot better. It has good flavor and portions are big. read more
