Nice convenient location (esp if you're heading towards Seal Point exiting 101), yummy donuts (they also have croissant sandwiches, coffee, etc.) and most importantly great, friendly service. We made a stop here to grab coffee, but I got suckered into getting a 12 pack of donut holes and a chocolate old fashioned. This was near the end of the day / closing time, but the donuts were still delicious. The guy (owner?) also brewed a fresh pot of coffee - well worth the 2-3 min wait. There were also a couple of tables and folks set up there watching the large screen tv. Many people made stops inside that seemed like regulars, the one man here moved quickly and was friendly to everyone. Would definitely come back!

The best donuts in this region of the Bay Area. Most everything is incredible but what stood out to me was the GLAZE TWIST. Now, trust me, I'm not a glaze person usually; I always thought it was kind of a boring way to approach donuts and it appears I've been wrong for a long LONG time. I just haven't had the pleasure of consuming one on this level yet. Crisp outside with a soft and fluffy inside, you can't go wrong getting anything here but the glaze twists will make your day better. Just be aware, they tend to run out of them after 12pm. I went back 3 times during my week stay in San Mateo JUST for the glaze twists here. Get it, you won't be disappointed.

$12 for the Mega Sando (sausage, bacon, ham, egg, cheese & Jalapeno). 1 lb. Yes, it weighed a pound and was easily over 1000 calories. If you are about quantity over quality, stop here. The ingredients are decent, but the value is all there. Order at the counter, wait for the item. Sit there in 1 of a few tables or take it to go. If you get there between 7 and 9, the small parking lot may be packed. There's a heavy stream of work truck coming and going.

Delicious donuts almost gone! Buttermilk glazed was so moist and yummy! The fritter was was really good.

We door dashed donuts and I didn't have high expectations. This place was awesome! The Buttermilk glazed was so good! Moist and delicious! The fritter was great and I was generally not expecting how good this place was going to be! Every donut we had was perfect! Will definitely be ordering from them again!

    Nice saltwater fish tank inside

Old fashion donuts place with friendly service and excellent donuts. Also decent coffee and very good sandwiches. Highly recommended.

Remember the scene when Ego the food critic took his first bite of the ratatouille and he was transported back in time to when his mother first made it for him, and it was so comforting? Quite literally food for the soul.! That's what these donuts do for me! Cliché? Maybe. But this is very real for me.and maybe someone else can relate. I can recall waking up early mornings with my grandfather and going to the donut shop pulling apart my fluffy cloud, donut enjoying great conversation with him while he sipped his coffee. No crazy select your own fillings or cereal toppings, just a classic well made donut! Happy Donuts has very well executed donuts. The glaze complements the donut, but lets the yeasty chew remain the star of the show! When you make a good doughnut, you don't have to pile on toppings to disguise the fact that your dough is mediocre. I'm quite literally obsessed with these donuts. They're very well could be better donuts in the area, but I'm already hooked on Happy Donuts! The ladies behind the counter have always been so kind and I never leave without a great laugh to accompany my sweet treats! Oh! And if you stay up partying too late and dragging in the morning, just order their Vietnamese coffee! It is fire and gives you the surge of energy you need

The interior looks like a donut shop but their offerings are quite solid. I have tried their Turkey, egg, and cheese on a bagel and I devoured it within minutes. I've alos had a sampling over their donuts over the years and they have been fresh, not oily, and nicely chewy and moist. The family that runs this shop are friendly and courteous. The era of family run businesses are struggling. It's good to see the community support such a staple in Burlingame.

I've tried the original apple fritter, blueberry, and raspberry. They all have that delicious crisp exterior and super fluffy interior, without being dense. I also appreciated that they were not overly sweet, which is oftentimes hard to find in donuts. I still prefer the original apple fritter, but was surprised that I enjoyed the raspberry one quite a bit! There's a big ol dollop of raspberry jam in the middle, and streaks of raspberry throughout the fritter itself. The best thing about these fritters is that they're still delicious the following day. I went a little crazy with ordering and had plenty of leftovers. I popped them into the toaster and they were still pretty decent. The parking lot is tiny and so if you're here on the weekends, you'll likely need to wait for someone to leave. There's usually also a long line as well. Since I'm not in the area, I prefer to just order ahead online for a pickup order. The pickup orders are in a separate line inside the restaurant.

There's seating right outside the entrance decorated with plants and as soon as you walk inside, yoy are greeted with the array of colorful donuts on display to your left. You'll then find the coffee and food menu and you place and pay for your order before you sit anywhere you desire. There are so many wall and ceiling decorations, it's well lit with tons of large windows and natural lighting which make the ambience so welcoming. The food came out pretty fast, about 10 minutes. After you order, they'll bring the food to your table. I ordered the Awesome Brekky Sandwich with Turkey Bacon on a toasted Sourdough with hashbrowns and a Fruity Pebble Milkshake to dine in and a Maple Bacon Bar and Maple Custard Bar to go. Awesome Brekky Sandwich with Hashbrowns -- I wasn't expecting much since at the end of the day, it's still just a breakfast sandwich. But for some reason, everyone went so well together and half the sandwich filled me up. The aioli I asked for on the side gave it that extra 'umf' and made it taste even better. The hashbrowns are crispy on top and slightly mushy on the inside. It was a bit underseasoned for me but still decent nonetheless. Fruity Pebble Milkshake -- SO good. You could really taste the fruity pebbles infused all around the milkshake and I love how it's not just on top. The consistency of this was smooth and not too thick. It did melt pretty fast cause it was a warmer day. Also, the more you drink it, the sweeter it gets so if you don't have a sweet tooth, this may be too sweet for you. I like sweets, but not too sweet so this got a little harder for me to drink once I reached the halfway mark. Maple Bacon Bar -- Not the best I've had, wouldn't get it again. Just a bit underwhelming overall. The donut itself is not as fluffy as I'd like and there's not enough bacon to balance the donut and maple glaze. Maple Custard Bar -- Good amount of custard filling but we still think Krispy Kreme's is better. In conclusion, I'd definitely come back to try other things on their menu, just maybe not the donuts!

Good sized sandwich and filling. Only complaint was that there were too many pickled vegetables so it made the bread soggy. The passionfruit green tea was refreshing. Because it took a while for my banh mi, they also comp'd a donut with lemon (?) jelly which was nice of them. I didnt get to try it since I brought it home and kiddo got to it. Must've been good as he ate the whole thing. Another time, I placed an online order since I was craving a breakfast burrito. It was ready in the 10 minutes it took me to get there and it was still hot. Burrito was also good sized and filled with a lot of eggs, sausage, cheese, and some potatoes. It was just missing some hot sauce. Staff have been friendly during each of my visits. Prices are fair. I came here the other early morning to buy coffee and donuts…read more The first red flag was that as I was sitting, parked in front, I took a bite of the plain old fashioned and discovered that it was stale. I went back inside and was immediately given a fresh old fashioned. The glazed cruller was ok, but it had an artificial (custard) flavor that I found a little off-putting. I had purchased two "chocolate" cruller. The glaze on this donut was NOT chocolate. The glaze tasted absolutely artificial, overly sweet and probably a health hazard. I ate just the underside of one of these donuts and threw the rest away. Sadly, the workers had not bothered to change the frying oil in a long time, so even the fresh old fashioned donut from this place, which was relatively inoffensive, suffered from an ever-so-slightly rancid flavor. The coffee was solid and they offered a lot of different options for it, such as milk and cream as well as the usual nasty French vanilla "creamer," which is the only reason that Chucks gets a second star. This business owner should radically restructure their business model to include quality over cost-cutting, because they would do better to use clean (and not soybean) oil, real ingredients without artificial flavorings, and authentic chocolate instead of whatever unpalatable garbage I experienced. They offer all kinds of superfluous menu items and they should really consider making better donuts. If I hadn't exchanged the first donut, I would have wasted money on 3 out of the 4 donuts. It is telling that rather than selling out, this business had inventory left from the day before, and they tried to sell it to me. Stan's donuts in Santa Clara often has to close early because they sell out hours before their 3PM closing time, and they don't do this disgusting quality compromise.
