So the place is in Snellville just past the Cookout next to the Texas Roadhouse. And let me be clear, this is a Chinese buffet so expect it to be as kitschy and stereotypical of your previous Chinese buffet experiences. The interior is well lit, booths are a bit crammed and the food stations are not as extensive for options. The service is literally non-existent. They bus your tables and are up to speed with refills which is basic service anyways. Now for the food. It's a buffet so it's not much to write home about. Seeing that it is a Chinese buffet, I decided to stay on the familiars. Pepper steak, lo mein, some crawfish, a baked pasta, and decided to try the pho So the Chinese options weren't that bad. The baked pasta was decent. Lo mein was flavorful. The teriyaki chicken was a bit off and the pho... well... the pho was a let down. The options were minimal. Four stations, with a noodle soup options, hibachi, and sushi tucked in the back. Can't say this buffet experience was all that it was hyped up to be. It was small, very minimal in terms of food options, lacked any sense of flavor for a buffet but the place was clean, well lit, and fast. I came here on a Sunday evening with my family. The restaurant is located in a large shopping center with plenty of parking. It was a group of 7 of us and we were able to get seated within 5 minutes of getting inside. This buffet was very clean and bright compared to what I'm used to. The ambiance made me feel very comfortable. I loved the variety of food, especially the hibachi and pho area. Everything I tried was delicious and I ended up eating about three plates of food. I've heard a lot of good things about Golden Apple Buffet and seen a lot of positive reviews on social media about it, so I've been wanting to give it a try but its quite a drive from my house. We finally decided to check it out one night, and I honestly think it's just okay. I wasn't impressed by the food nor do I think it's worth the drive when there's so many other buffet options around. However, I will agree that the price is a great deal for a buffet and all the food they have to offer. Golden Apple has your typical Chinese buffet food items, plus a few more options, which I think is what has lured people in. The pho bar seems to be the main thing that people are so impressed about in comparison to other buffets. They also replenish the food pretty fast which I thought was impressive considering we came on a weekday night. It was also decently packed for a weekday night too, but there was plenty of seating so we did not have to wait for a table at all. They also cleaned dirty dishes off our table very quickly. In terms of food, they have several buffet lines in addition to a hibachi bar, pho bar, sushi bar, and an ice cream section. There were 4 different soups, lots of seafood options, plenty of desserts, and a fried food section that is probably popular for kids. Food didn't look dried out or anything, but like I said, still was just okay. Nothing too impressive. The sushi was also just mediocre. They definitely had more sushi options than I'm used to seeing at other buffets though. Honestly, if I lived in the area, for the price and the variety, I'd probably come here fairly option for a cheap meal with foods that I don't get to eat often. Finally had a chance to try this place since the hype of social media and let's just say it was kinda worth the wait. We came mid day on a Saturday for lunch and it was very crowded, surprisingly the wait time was only 20 mins even though it was crowded. We walking in got a number and waiting by the door till our number was called which i like how they kinda look for you so you don't miss your number being called that's a plus but maybe they should get the thingy that vibrates when it's your turn or give the option to text you when your table is ready . Anywho let's get into the decor this place was nice simple and cute the seats were nice they were orange on some parts of the place an marble looking tables and a nice wall decor that had those icon teddy bear thingy. I been wanting to come here and drove a long distance just to get here. This spot is right close to the end of the Ronald Reagan Pkwy inside the city limits of Snellville. Parking is very limited around the restaurant but there is plenty of parking from Texas Roadhouse and Kohl's parking lot. While walking in, the entrance is nicely decorated with robot statues. There is a ton of variety of foods which includes a sushi bar, pho bar, and hibachi. I really enjoyed the Pho, Dim Sum shrimp dumpling, Mussel, and Crawfish here. The crawfish was big and very fresh here. They also served blue crab here as well. The pork chops here were amazing! Just wow! The variety is amazing here and there is something for everybody. This buffet focused on high quality food for an affordable price. I picked a weekday for lunch but got caught up in errands and popped in at the start of dinner. I heard about the lengthy wait times on the weekend, and now I see why. Expansive variety of hot and cold entrees. A cross section of cuisines, meats and seafood. 1st buffet I've seen with whole crab. I went crazy on the seafood selection of sushi, shrimp, scallops and mussels. They had too much to choose from. Once we entered it very welcoming and very clean and bright. We were seated maybe 10-15 mins after our arrival. They have a great selection of food items on their buffet. I think the buffet is $20-$30 dollars per person. The food was hot and fresh. They also made sure to replenish when the food trays were getting empty. We have come out to try Golden Apple a couple times now and took some sushi-to-go for our son. The buffet was fresh and full each time. There were a lot of staff and the staff seemed friendly and didn't hover over us as we enjoyed our meal. Our son enjoyed the sushi, but commented that the ones I chose were mostly spicy- but still good. We didn't try the hibachi or Pho stations. It was extremely clean and the bathroom was also clean. The prices were typical and reasonable compared to other similar restaurants nearby. However, the hostess quoted us a 20 minute wait and it was surprisingly accurate. So do not leave if you see the crowd because they move pretty quickly. There was a lot of variety like most Chinese buffets but my favorite section was the pho section. They had a decent variety of meat and seafood and the pho broth was fantastic. It had really good flavor and the broth was clear and free of any impurities. I also liked that they had ice cream in a freezer so you can pick whatever you want. I saw the food be replenished pretty frequently and the service was attentive. The only thing I didn't like was some of the patrons were not practicing very clean habits. I saw an older gentleman put a blue crab from his plate back in the buffet section. The place gets pretty busy so I guess it's hard for the staff to monitor the buffet? This restaurant just opened and the line was out the door. I had seen a lot of workers, dumptrucks, vendors and everybody getting ready for the opening day. Me and the family decided to give them a try. Since it was a buffet, I wasn't sure what the price point would be. For 3 adults we spent about $70. Not including the tip. We did have to wait 45 minutes or so to be seated. They had numbers that they passed out and you would have to come back periodically to see if your number was up. If they do stay busy maybe they will invest in another alert system. I did not visit the restrooms but the establishment itself was clean. There were so many people inside and out it was hard to move around. There were many workers in the restaurant making sure the food kept coming out fresh. I did like to see them replenishing the food. The waitress didn't come around much because it was so crowded. When she did come she cleared the dishes and refreshed the drinks. There were many choices which was a good sign. The deserts I did not really care for . They have the usual cakes, cookies and ice creams. They also had fruits you could pick from as well. Most of the food was very good. The chicken for me could have used more seasoning but besides that all the food that I selected was good. Even the veggies were good. I will definitely be returning, but I think I will wait a little while until the newness wears off. When I do go back I will make sure I try the hibachi area and the sushi bar.
