Fifty bucks is pretty steep, but I'm glad I did this during my port of call. The views from the tram and at the top are very nice, and there's a complimentary short film screened at the top that I enjoyed. Your ticket is good for the whole day, so after coming down and dining somewhere in town, I noticed I had plenty of time left in port so I went back up and enjoyed their hiking trails. They have a pretty big gift shop with local art that is worth perusing, and a bar & grill with ostensibly plenty of options. A nice component to my day in Juneau.

Goldbelt Tram is a great way to see Juneau Alaska. The view to the top of the mountain is very picturesque, and the history show on the top of the mountain is incredible. You will have an amazing view, as well as delve into the local culture. I highly recommend this tram/tour.

The Goldbelt Tram is a tram that go's to the tip what a amazing view of Juneau, you can see anything from this hight it's breathe taking. When we reach the is there's a wonderful gift shop and also have the Timberline bar & grill. First we met an native elder very nice and the history of his people and also a 30 minute. Movie it was very nice after the short movie. We went to the restaurant in the Goldbelt Tram they also have a gift shop.

This was a fun experience though somewhat overpriced. We went up as a group of 7. The lines didn't take very long. The cafe at the top was okay but not great. It provided amazing views from the balcony. The tram seemed daunting at first but it went up and down fast (2-3 minutes each way) and I didn't feel any significant rocking and it felt safe. There was a great walking trail at the top with beautiful greenery everywhere. I do recommend people try it.

View of the tram and how steep it is from the Princess Discovery. The reddish building is where you enter the tram to the top.

8/2/23 - off the Discovery Princess and more to come. Didn't do the shore excursion. Saved money to pay directly through them. A 67% savings of $50 per person regardless of age than $150 a person through the ship. You can walk right over there and save you $100 per person. Will add more. Supposedly one of the steepest team rides and it looks steep. Check the website out: https://www.goldbelttram.com; will add photos later. See them photo of the tram from the ship. Walk in and go under the red circle to buy tickets. Jump in line and get your hand stamped. Your on the way. Don't jump in line to get it. It isn't the way to buy tickets.

I have been on a few different trams and this one isn't as high as say the one in Tahoe but it's decent, your ears will still pop. There's a shop and a show you can watch and a few different trails. I'm not going to say this one is handicap accessible but we got our all terrain baby stroller through one of the easier less steep trails so it's doable if you can push through. Keep an eye out for wildlife, even the tiny creatures are moving about. I didn't try the restaurant, it's not why I went up but the views looked nice. Also you can sometimes find some hand carved totems up here. I found one and it was even autographed by the artist. It's my favorite souvenir. I am grateful that it was left for me to find, buy and take home. I hope you find a treasure too!

Here is probably one of Juneau's most recognizable attractions, we had tickets & made our way up on what ended up being a nice weather day , rain very little , lots of jog but the sun did peak through & the views from above are incredible. Nice little ride up & once up there u have the options of hiking the area & we did it was a decent hike, pretty easy as long as u are prepared , water is a must. Once u make it to the cross on top the views are just amazing, the whole area is nice to see from up above, the cruise ships, landscape all worth the hike up. They have clean bathrooms, a café & theater to keep u entertain. Gift shop for some souvenirs not bad. This was worth the ride up, I would for sure recommend it.

We didn't have a long port stop in Juneau so we knew we had to plan excursions that weren't too lengthy or far. This is probably the most done excursion for anyone cruising to Juneau. It's right next to the cruise terminal. Literally you see it as soon as you get off the ship. I've been up the tram in Tahoe and Palm Springs - this one is not as high as those (the trip up was quick) - but it's beautiful up there! Lots of well maintained trails (some can get challenging), little creeks, totem poles and even snow to play in at the end of June ! $45 for adults , which is a bit pricey , but it's for all day access - not that those of us there from cruise ships have the time to do it multiple times but you can if you feel like it. There's a coffee kiosk, cafe, large gift shop and clean restrooms at the top too. You can easily do this, hit the Mendenhall Glacier and shop within 6 hours.

Riding the Goldbelt Tram and hiking on Mount Roberts was the most amazing part of my trip to Alaska. The ride is so much fun with incredible views. All the workers there do an amazing job. The complimentary movie that is comes with riding the tram is fantastic. Thank you so much to all you amazing workers at Goldbelt!

Nice view but nothing else on top and over an hour wait time to go down. Very disappointing if you just have a few hours in the city :-(

The dogsled camp was fantastic, so many happy dogs! There was a local artist that works there and sells stickers, prints and earrings which was pretty cool. Only complaint: I asked them to leave me on the glacier but they said no. Rude.

We were picked up from the cruise port and transported to the airport where we were given special shoe coverings and shown safety videos. From there we were in the helicopter and on our way to the glacier. Our pilot Corey was amazing and spoke about different things as we were flying over them. My fear quickly faded once I saw how beautiful Alaska looked from up above and I was in front (best seat in the house). The ride itself was smooth and fun. Once we landed on the glacier we were able to walk around, take some pictures and even drink up some of the natural glacier water. (Tip: take an empty water bottle). I can't recommend this company enough. Don't miss out on this once in a lifetime experience!

No ear popping, it can be a little crowded, but the cool thing is your ticket is good all day and you can run up and down until the end of the day. There's a $50 credit per tour that applies to the first guest through the "More at Sea" package. You'll also get Latitude Reward discounts depending on your tier. It somehow ended up costing less than $20 for both of us. It's also an all day pass, so you can go up & down as many times as you want. We were one of the first in line that morning. There were only 8 people in front of us. We watched as they were taking the staff up to the shop & resraurants. Before long, it was our turn. The tram was pretty packed with lots of standing room and very few seats. I chose to be on the outer edge with a great view. The climb is steep, and you do go straight up like an elevator for that last push to the top. To be honest, I've been on much higher gondolas (to the top of the Zugspitze near Garmisch). The Goldbelt Tram was an easy ride compared to that. I did like the commentary along the way. It was nice to hear fun facts & history as you're taking in the view of the channel and forest below. There is a gift shop, restaurant, bar, and theater as you get to the top. We opted to take on the Alpine Loop Trail early. We also made sure to stop at the Chilkat Theater to view the "Seeing Daylight" documentary. Don't miss that viewing. It's part of the whole experience. It really puts everything into perspective about the land and its people (Tlinget) who have lived here for centuries. You'll see an ongoing theme as you explore other Alaskan towns. It really ties it all together. We didn't get to try the restaurants. We thought it best to explore Downtown Juneau and the waterfront instead. It was a good decision. It was all very memorable! I'd love to do it all again.
