Mendenhall in our own Jeep NOT shoved in a bus with strangers.

Ok so this review is so well deserved. My wife and I visited Alaska for the very first time on a cruise. We pulled into Juneau and the cute little town is full of shops etc. we wanted to see the real sights so we asked a local what to do. She said rent a Jeep and drive and we are so thankful she did! This new small business rents you a brand new Jeep with the coolest app it gives you multiple scenic trips to try with approximate times it will take and then as you go to these spots it talks to you explaining where you are, the history behind each spot etc. without them we would have been stuck doing the same things everyone else is doing. Unplugged allowed us to see the real Alaska and at a very small cost! They rented us the Jeep so fast I think it was like 5 minutes max and we were on our way. I would like to thank you unplugged for allowing us to make memories we will never forget and highly recommend to anyone who wants to get out of the tourist trap and truly see the last frontier! Please enjoy some pics of what we were able to take in!

I honestly think it's the best way to go see the glaciers and stop at all the location that you would normally do on a tour bus.( not crowded, your time, your music) Great price especially if you are a large family rates are around $275 jeep rental for four hrs... they do offer discounts for people on the cruises. The employees are great I hope that they are added to the cruise line as a tour.. the weather canceled our dog sledding but luckily we found this place!!!!! They also gps that is programmed locations

Great experience. Don't book a Jeep tour on the cruise ship - book here right at the dock. The iPad tour guide was very informative and the ability to spend as much or as little time at each stop was a huge plus as was the ability to stop and get a great wildlife picture whenever the opportunity arose.

No better way to explore Juneau AK than GO YOUR OWN WAY self guided Jeep tours! Not only was is fantastic, beautiful and romantic but after our 9th time in Juneau it was great to do something new! We had a great time for such a bargain. We would encourage everyone to give this excursion a go! We will definitely be using this service for years to come!

It was good enough that will book another tour on return cruise in a few days. While didn't see Orca's and it was rainy and had trouble finding whales, we did find 3 and this proves that nature is unpredictable. What earned them five stars, and an endearing place in my tiny heart, is the crew. Captain Dan was good but what made this trip for me was the naturalist Kaelyn (hope got it right). She was amazing, had a wealth of knowledge, and extremely easy to talk to. She shared the passion she has for wildlife, particularly whales, and spoke at length about their behaviors here and in Hawaii. She really is fantastic. Our boat had a small group size and surprised they didn't cancel it, very small. The crew on this trip, and my prior one last year, couldn't stop talking about the company itself, a small locally owned group which has excellent customer service, truly exceptional. They also Treat their employees like the gold they are Many thanks to them for a great tour. While didn't see as much as had hoped, and while weather didn't cooperate, it's a fantastic trip and time. They really truly take care of you.

We were picked up from the cruise port and transported to the airport where we were given special shoe coverings and shown safety videos. From there we were in the helicopter and on our way to the glacier. Our pilot Corey was amazing and spoke about different things as we were flying over them. My fear quickly faded once I saw how beautiful Alaska looked from up above and I was in front (best seat in the house). The ride itself was smooth and fun. Once we landed on the glacier we were able to walk around, take some pictures and even drink up some of the natural glacier water. (Tip: take an empty water bottle). I can't recommend this company enough. Don't miss out on this once in a lifetime experience!

Autumn clearly has a passion for whales and gave us enough education to fuel our fire for the animals. We saw calves and Sasha and we were treated with the experience of a whale breaching right in front of the boat! Overall a wonderful experience and looking forward to another tour with ATA! Also to mention the wonderful salmon bake! Fresh fish and live music with covered seating and a creekside view. The short hike to the waterfall was fun too! Special shout out to our wonderful bus driver too! She drives the "sunshine" bus and while her name escapes me, her impression does not! She pointed out an eagle's nest, told stories of the legendary wolf Romeo, and gave us a quick but detailed history of the town. Bonus that she's from our neck of the woods!

Nice and strong but I couldn't understand anything he was telling us because I was in the front and he has a very very thick accent. There's a $50 credit per tour that applies to the first guest through the "More at Sea" package. You'll also get Latitude Reward discounts depending on your tier. It somehow ended up costing less than $20 for both of us. It's also an all day pass, so you can go up & down as many times as you want. We were one of the first in line that morning. There were only 8 people in front of us. We watched as they were taking the staff up to the shop & resraurants. Before long, it was our turn. The tram was pretty packed with lots of standing room and very few seats. I chose to be on the outer edge with a great view. The climb is steep, and you do go straight up like an elevator for that last push to the top. To be honest, I've been on much higher gondolas (to the top of the Zugspitze near Garmisch). The Goldbelt Tram was an easy ride compared to that. I did like the commentary along the way. It was nice to hear fun facts & history as you're taking in the view of the channel and forest below. There is a gift shop, restaurant, bar, and theater as you get to the top. We opted to take on the Alpine Loop Trail early. We also made sure to stop at the Chilkat Theater to view the "Seeing Daylight" documentary. Don't miss that viewing. It's part of the whole experience. It really puts everything into perspective about the land and its people (Tlinget) who have lived here for centuries. You'll see an ongoing theme as you explore other Alaskan towns. It really ties it all together. We didn't get to try the restaurants. We thought it best to explore Downtown Juneau and the waterfront instead. It was a good decision. It was all very memorable! I'd love to do it all again.
