For selling your old gold at scrap prices, I definitely recommend Gold Vancouver. For best results, you should know the karat of the jewelry you are bringing in so that no mistakes can be made. It is not difficult to buy a magnifying glass to check for the karats on gold jewelry, or even sometimes using the zoom on your iphone camera might work (take a photo zoomed in, then examine photo after). I like that Gold Vancouver prints explicitly their prices of what they buy your gold for on their website and it is updated throughout the day as the markets fluctuate. There is no pressure from them to sell your piece after they give you a quote. I never once felt intimidated. The gentleman I dealt with Gary is a seasoned professional, no non-sense guy. Every transaction is noted in writing. Receipts clearly stated correct karats and weights. I got a cheque on the spot dated same day. No hassle and secure. I got cash from a real business and didn't have to worry about online scammers or my personal safety. If your jewelry doesn't have a clear legible stamp of the karats, then manual testing using the scrape method with some chemicals testing the scrape mark must be done, but note that this may not yield most accurate results. They also have a mass spectrometer in another room to test the metal in your jewelry but again results can vary with that. Overall, it is worthwhile to get a quote from them at the very least. I would get quotes from other establishments first and then go to Gold Vancouver after to see if the latter is indeed the highest scrap value. read more

NOT HONEST We brought gold jewelries to sell to Gary. This was in 2025. He is a very nice guy. We had a good chat and we were foolish enough to trust him. Before we went there, we also checked out gold prices around Vancouver and he does pay the most $ per gram. However, what I found out is that he is dishonest in his assessment of how many karat our gold jewelry is, not the weight, but the purity of the gold. I should have questioned him when he told us our very yellow gold jewelry is only 14 carat, and another ring only 10 carat. But I let it go because I have no use for my gold jewelry anymore and I wanted to get rid of them. I told myself I have no proof. Until a few weeks after the visit. Then I realized I had been scammed. I was looking through some of my diamond appraisals and I saw an appraisal of the 10g gold ring that Gary said is only 10 karat. My appraisal from Imperial Gem Lab appraised the gold at 18 karats, not 10. The difference in price per gram at that time between an 18 and a 10 karat gold is $45 a gram, so he ripped me off $450 just for that one ring alone! Let alone all the other stuff I sold him. So beware! Just because he pays the most $ per gram doesn't mean he'll pay the most for your jewelry. He might say your 22 carat jewelry is only 18 carat or your 18 karat only 10. Be cautious especially the heavy jewelries. That's where he'd want to lower the assessment of the quality/purity of your gold. read more

It was easy to make an appointment, and the money I received for my old jewelry was amazing. You can easily check out the current gold value on their website, and you receive a check right on the spot. This isn't the first place I've sold my jewelry to, but I will return there when I'm ready to do that again. I highly recommend this place! read more

Hands down, Gold Vancouver is the best! If you want fancy surroundings go Canada Gold located in an old bank bldg on Broadway. I went there twice - weeks apart. Got a quote, then gold increased a lot and was given a lower quote on my follow up visit o Dec 23, 2025. Gold Vancouver was not fancy, but boy am I glad I checked them out a 1/2 hour later. Their quote on a gold necklace was $160 more than Canada Gold.. The appraisal only took a few minutes and then I was out the door with a cheque for $1,060 and a smile on my face. Only regret was I didn't wait until early Feb when GOLD soared to record highs. But you can't time the market. I'm still a happy camper. read more

HONEST KNOWLEDGEABLE CLEAR NO PRESSURE KIND i have sold gold and silver jewelry to Gold Vancouver several times in the past three years. This family run business is wonderful to deal with. Each time I received a quote from another company so that I could compare the purchase prices before selling. Each time I was offered more from Gold Vancouver and yesterday, I more than doubled my money! I brought in items to Gold Vancouver that I was not sure I wanted to sell. My items were valued and I was not pressured to sell them. I will not be using any other company but Gold Vancouver and do not feel I need a quote from any other gold company ever again. Gold Vancouver is, in my opinion the very best in British Columbia. read more

Great company, took in some old jewelry and sat down with Gary right away - no waiting. He looked at all my pieces, even the ones that I wasn't sure about. He offered lots of input, detail, and $$ for the pieces he was able/willing to buy. Highly recommend this place. Not once did I feel I was being taken advantage of, and I truly believe Gary offered the best price possible. I'll be back for sure. read more

I wasted precious time there to find out that the gold prices advertised online do not apply to the dealer that was sitting in a dusty old office. I drove 2 hours paid for expensive parking, nobody picks up the phone and then some uneducated gold dealer that does not understand the value of world renowned gold producers special 1g bars. I found a dealer a couple of blocks away who ripped the bars right out of my hands and gave me a really good and fair price. Don't waste your time unless you don't care about losing money--false advertisement, definitely not the best price for your yellow metal. read more

After years of wondering why I was holding onto previously acquired gold & silver jewellery, I was motivated to dispose of some when a gold dental appliance collapsed & fell out. Having disposed of some sterling flatware a decade ago & not been totally happy with the whole process I checked on the internet for some alternatives. Gold Vancouver received good reviews & particularly from the CTV crew that interviewed the owner a while ago. So I checked another place first then went to this firm. I was very pleased with the friendly but quite professional way my transaction was handled. Owner/manager Gary was a real pleasure to deal with. And yes the amount he offered for my stuff was almost 50% higher than the next highest bid. read more

Gary senior saw us immediately upon our arrival at his offices. He spent quite a bit of time testing and weighing the broken pieces of gold jewelry our group had accumulated. At the end of our visit we'd learned quite a bit about the value of gold and were pleased with the monies received. Gary is very personable and knowledgeable, I would recommend him to anyone wishing to sell of any type of valuables, as I understand he also buys coins and art. read more

Gary know his stuff. Talks to u. Even if u don't believe in online reviews, u can search who pays more. Gary does.

Excellent service and prices. Compared to 2 other gold buyers, one downtown and one in Richmond. Prices here were the best on multiple different items. Service is very good, incredibly knowledgeable, not just with respect to gold but also gold coins etc. A real pleasure to deal with. read more
