Very nice reception upon entering. I asked for a watch battery, and he even set my watch after (yeah, it's been awhile so I probably would have spent some time trying to remember how!). If this guy knew what he was doing my watch bracelet would not have come apart and if he was professional he would have left a note on his door. It seems that he used the "used" pins instead of new pins, the pins he used were DIRTY indicating they were the old pins. I needed my wedding ring resized again. I came here a few years ago and was very satisfied with the results so I came back again. Edward helped me both times and was quoted a few days to get it back. What can I say about Gold Time and it's artistic owner, Edward? First thing that comes to mind is, "We are not worthy!". Santa Clarita, that is. Who would think, in this remote outpost from civilization, that a master jeweler would set up and keep shop. Thank ye gods. We have been bringing our jewelry problems to Edward for several years. Each time he promptly takes care of us, with cordiality and expertise. And then you get the bill, and read it twice: so reasonable as to be another of his many gifts to the community. Recently, Ed solved an almost unsolvable problem of repairing a gold piece so tiny and delicate I didn't think a fairy surgeon would accept the challenge. He did, he conquered the problem, and asked only what a person who loves the craft rather than the lucre would charge. It is clearly a labor of love, carried out in an immaculate, bright store, twinkling with Ed's own creations. The owner seemed very knowledgeable about watches and jewelry. He's been in the business awhile. He did the battery replacement in 5 minutes and it cost $12. Easy, peasy. Okay you gotta hear this. I just spoke to the man who owns this business. I called right as they were closing and I apologized for keeping him over- he said it was his pleasure to help me. I asked for a service they don't provide but even AFTER he knew he would not be getting my business he continued to stay (after they were closed) to help me locate another place. Not a friend's place where he'd get a kick back. Just generic areas in downtown I'd have a wide selection to choose from. I've been calling places all day looking for on site engravings and the moment I ask and they don't- their voice drops and it's a race to get off the phone with me. Not this guy. I wish I had to go here, it's so rare to run into people like this. Take it as you will, but I could not-Not race to Yelp and leave a review the moment our call ended. He said he would try to get the ring repaired quickly but it was Thursday and it may be next week until he could get it done.
