This place has changed ownership. New owners 'Kerwin Collectibles' obviously knew what a valuable asset he'd just acquired because the previous long-time owner enjoyed an excellent overall business reputation and was highly scored, reviewed, and regarded for his expert knowledge, fair deals, courtesy, and professionalism.
The new owner hopes to ride on that success y continuing under Coins Plus banner, cashing in on the reputatìon he hadnt earned, onĺy purchased; and he slightly resembles previous owner.
BUT BE WARNED: New guy ìs the most polar opposite and frankly, nasty, rude, impostor hoping to fool long-timers and newcomers, hiding under the well-reputed previous banner, leaving you clueless that business changed ownership until you realize something is amiss, that you are not being served or treated with appreciation, respect, or of the professionalism you've come to know over the span of your previous visits.
Today I drove all the way in from The Owen's Valley region. I'd come to the store a few times in 2022 & 2023 before I moved north i feĺt I trusted this place and therefore worth time and travel to see about
Possibly sell one of my antique $5 dollar Liberty Half Eagle coins , 1881, which I'd inherited . However, grandpa had had his coins mounted in what appears to be a capsule of a thick lexan or acrylic encapsulate that the electronic meters cannot penetrate through to assess the coin composition. Because that impostor could not logically impute the possibility, he loudly and blatantly barked that no gold was reading out after barely attempting to scan , jumping to the conclusion that it wasn't a real coin at all! He was offensive in his insult implying that I must be a con , or a shyster attempting to perpetrate a criminal açt of fraud!
Ì would have been utterly humiliated had anyone really been in the room . All previous visitsI noted there were 20 or more clients packed in the place--- every time! There was one, beside me. I was dignified and nicely asked if he might refer me to a similar business, he was very rude when I attempted to clarify directions and distance. I felt he had an utter disdain in dealing or helping me, obviously he'd figured I was a no good criminal who didnt deserve another minute of his time. Ì am a woman, a widow, and I'd worn a camo hunting hoodie that belonged to my beloved. I'm quite polite and also have a knowledgeable and astute collecting educ.
It was the first time in the 60 years I've existed on Earth to have been so incredibly accused or insulted in such a way, without any basis whatsoever! I implore other good faith, legitimate clients to steer clear of this business. The new owner is inept at recognizing coins of quality, because he trusts his scanner without accepting impermeable encapsulation he's unfamiliar with- immediately hurling offensive, undue accusation that YOU ARE THE FRAUD
THE lovely professional and expert man who previously owned the place will wish he'd insisted change of business name at time he sold to this horrible new owner, as he starts to destroy the popularity and high regard he earned serving so many good clients. THAT, TO ME is a crying shame and should be a sin and a crime! Judging from the missing crowd, it appears word is spreading, the new owner is himself a fraud and a jerk .
By the way, the fellow I was referred to admitted I'd was hard to scan coin but said releasing coin was best for accuracy for this special protective çapsulate, but WAS STILL ABLE TO GET POSITIVE GOLD READING. Too bad he's just basing value of gold content and not total coin and condition or I would definitely have done my business there. HE told me that Coins Plus had been recently sold which explained my terrible treatment . Heartbreaking that I will have find another reputable and trustworthy place, especially in a specialty
Business such as this. Posting this whole thing so you will have a 2025 review to see, which cannot be compared to the old highly rated reviews. I hate that I wasted my time making a trip without knowing about new ownership read more
