There is a "passport" of the wineries in the Oliver/Osoyoos area, and you receive a stamp for each winery you visit. If you visit five, you can enter to win wine related products (who knows what that is--it could be bottles of wine, or crap like t-shirts and hats), and if you get 10 stamps, you can enter to win the grand prize of a trip for two to the Okanagan, so my friends and I decided to go for the grand prize.
We only spent one full day in the Okanagan, and managed to go to eight wineries, although we really should have stopped at six or seven; eight was just too much for one day. So Sunday morning, the day of our departure, we had to go to two more wineries. We simply chose the ones that were closest to where we were, and on our way back to Vancouver. The first winery of day two, winery #9, overall, was Gold Hill Winery.
There was a small tasting fee, but because we only sampled a couple of wines each and my friend bought a bottle of Gewürztraminer (which was quite tasty), the fee was waived.
