Last Monday, my mother and I walked into this store with the simple goal of getting an idea of engagement ring pricing. We were already deep in conversation with another jeweler, Georgetown Jewelers, but after my experience here, let me just say--there is no comparison. For context, I'm a mailman, and I deliver to multiple jewelry stores daily. I see firsthand how different stores operate, how they treat customers, and the kind of service they provide. I have absolutely no affiliation with Diamonds Direct, nor do I know anyone who works there personally. This review is purely based on my experience as a first-time customer, and I feel compelled to share it because of how outstanding it was. From the moment we arrived, everything about Diamonds Direct was top-tier. The parking was easy, convenient, and stress-free--always a great start. Upon entering, we were met with a professional security team who welcomed us and provided a brief but helpful rundown of the store's layout. And then... it happened. Out of nowhere, an absolutely stunning sales associate walked up to us, exuding confidence, professionalism, and an undeniable charm. Her name? Maris. Like Paris, but with an M. And let me tell you, if you're lucky enough to have her help you, your entire jewelry shopping experience is about to change forever. Maris was an absolute rockstar. She greeted us warmly and immediately made both my mother and me feel comfortable. She was extremely knowledgeable, answering every single one of my (admittedly excessive) questions with ease. From the differences between lab-grown diamonds and natural diamonds to breaking down pricing including tax on the spot--she knew it all. Not once did she hesitate. Not once did she make us feel rushed. She handled the entire experience like a true professional, all while keeping the energy light, fun, and engaging. She took the time to understand exactly what I was looking for, even though all I had to go off of were a few notes in my phone about my girlfriend's preferences. With those small details, she immediately pulled out the perfect selection of diamonds, using tweezers to show me the intricate differences between each one. Under the light, she explained the clarity, the cut, the brilliance--everything. When it came to choosing a setting, she instinctively guided me toward styles that aligned with what my girlfriend would love. She read the situation perfectly, making the entire process seamless and stress-free. Maris didn't just sell me a ring--she gave me confidence in my purchase. By the time she finished breaking everything down, I knew this was the place to buy, and I knew she was the person I wanted to buy from. So, I did something I hadn't planned on doing that day--I put down 50% of the cost and secured the perfect ring. And the service? Next level. She provided me with all the necessary paperwork, her business card and she also assured me that if I needed the ring rushed, she had a direct line to get it done. She even offered us complimentary drinks--soda, wine, coffee, tea--because why not make jewelry shopping even more enjoyable? Even with other customers specifically asking for her assistance, she stayed fully committed to helping us until the very end. She multi-tasked flawlessly, handling multiple clients without ever making us feel like we were being pushed aside. That kind of dedication is rare, and it did not go unnoticed. To top it all off, the store itself was incredible--modern, clean, and playing upbeat pop music at the perfect volume (not too loud, not too soft, just right). My mother felt comfortable, I felt comfortable, and we both left with not just a ring, but an experience we will remember forever. If you are looking for the place to buy an engagement ring, or any piece of fine jewelry, Diamonds Direct Schaumburg is the only answer. DD hosted an after hours event with the Schaumburg Business Association, and I was so impressed with the staff, beautiful store, and charcuterie and wine spread they had for this event. The store is beautifully laid out, and the jewelry and watches are showcased beautifully. I enjoyed talking with Diamond Expert Diyae and will hopefully return soon for a gift or purchase. Check out the special necklace to support non-profit Gigi's Playhouse. It's nice to know the leaders and employees at this store care about their community.

After three weeks or so I contacted them inquiring about the repair, I was told the technician was still working on my watch. I finally received my repaired watch, it seemed to be working fine but a month prior to the 12 month warranty expiring the watch stopped working. I contacted Watch Repair USA and spoke with Sandra who was most helpful, I sent the watch back to them for repair. They returned my watch to me in a working condition BUT two month later it stopped working AGAIN. Once more I contacted Sandra who informed me that the repair warranty had expired but if I wanted to send it back for further repairs they would be happy to fix it. I am totally pissed off, after paying $800 I expected my "Repaired" watch to be in good working order for a long time but that was not to be. So I am left with a watch which is not working and will have to pay a further repair bill.

The case back had an issue & needed repair. My original documentation clearly states that the case back would pop open. They got back to me saying that the case back needed to be "replaced". I agreed expecting the original Dior case back to be returned,. When the watch came back it had a cheap silver case back and I never got the original Dior case back sent to me. They stole it. Additionally, the repair they did was of such poor quality that now no-one is able to open the watch to replace the battery. When I put an honest review of their bad service, they invited me to send my watch back. So, a few weeks ago, I sent my Dior watch with the explicit instructions that they simply fix their own mistake & re-install the case back properly so I can get the battery replaced in my own. They have been awful in terms of customer service. Per my last communication, they expect me to pay for this work and are not sending my watch back. I want my Dior watch back before they steal more parts from it. And I expect the case back which they installed to be in proper form so I can get the battery replaced wherever I want. They do such shoddy work and are completely untrustworthy. This should serve as a warning to anyone considering using Watch Repairs USA. They also owe me my original Dior case back. i paid $500 last time for a horrible job where my Dior case back was also stolen by them. I want my Dior watch back fixed and returned to me ASAP.

As we were leaving, a man named Nick called out, saying he'd give an extra 10% off if we bought it that day. It felt pushy and uncomfortable. After visiting a few other places (with MUCH better service), I still couldn't stop thinking about that ring, so I came back a second time. That's where EVERYTHING went downhill. Nick helped us this time, and I absolutely hated every moment of it. I was very clear and transparent, telling him that I loved the ring and that's why I came back. Instead of making the process feel exciting or comfortable, the entire interaction turned into a high-pressure situation. He kept pushing for a same-day decision and said the price was "today only" and wouldn't be available if we left because the gold prices are rising. For something as important as an engagement ring, that kind of pressure is completely inappropriate. What made it worse was the inconsistency. After we didn't agree on the spot, suddenly the "today only" price turned into "you have a week." That alone made it hard to trust anything he said. There were also multiple comments about other stores we had visited, which felt unnecessary and unprofessional. At one point, he mentioned having other customers lined up, which didn't match what we were seeing in the store at all. And if you didn't need my business, there wouldn't have been this much pressure to close the sale. At the end of the day, no matter how much I liked the ring, the experience made me not want to spend a single penny here. Believe me, I understand they are salespeople trying to do their jobs, but it's one thing to be proactive about closing a deal and a completely different thing to be so rude and aggressive about it. Nick made us feel like he did not care at all about us nor our engagement process, but simply wanted the dollars in my pocket. My partner tried expressing to Nick she wanted to give IDC a chance and buy from them if he could give us a little space to think and be less pushy (seemed fair to me considering the amount of money being discussed) and his response was, "If you don't like the way I do business that's okay, I have people lined up anyways." That comment further solidified what was already becoming a terrible experience. This is a major life purchase, and feeling pressured or dismissed was a huge turnoff. It also felt disrespectful, especially toward my soon-to-be fiancée. Even if the pricing had been unbeatable, the interaction alone made us decide we didn't want to move forward. We also learned that customization options at IDC are limited to factory production rather than in-house jewelers (a slightly more expensive option to improve quality, durability, and care in the crafting process). While I don't think outsourcing is inherently bad and can help keep costs down for those on a budget, many other jewelers offer both in-house and factory options, which provides more flexibility. The warranty and insurance structure is also less comprehensive compared to what we saw at other jewelers. Customers have no choice but to rely on homeowners insurance, which can add extra steps compared to jewelry-specific coverage. Based on other reviews, service for repairs also seems to be met with hesitancy and annoyance from staff at IDC. I'm all for supporting small, family-owned businesses. Even if IDC has less to offer in comparison to other jewelers, I would have still considered doing business with them either now or in the future because kindness, integrity, and professionalism can go a long way. In the end, after calmly asking Nick a few more questions, I thanked him for his time, shook his hand, and walked away unfortunately never to return.

One watch was repaired, the second was returned unrepaired--both were shipped back together. The package arrived empty, and both watches were lost while in transit under their control. While they refunded the repair fee, they have refused to provide reimbursement for the loss of my property. Instead, they attempted to substitute a random replacement watch from their inventory, which I declined. My original items--one of which held significant sentimental value--were not interchangeable. More concerning is their handling of the claim: The shipment was insured for $600, which matched the verbal appraisal provided by their associate prior to authorizing the repair, yet they attempt to minimize the value after the fact I was informed by FedEx that their claim was denied, and they have not provided a clear explanation or supporting documentation Responsibility has been deflected rather than addressed, leaving me no choice but to pursue legal remedies At no point did I control the shipping, carrier, or insurance--this was entirely managed by their business, despite all shipping costs being passed on to the customer. The loss occurred while the watches were in their custody, yet they have not taken full accountability. Losing a customer's property is serious. Failing to resolve it fairly is unacceptable. Proceed with caution.
