Food is always hot,fresh and delicious! We love Goji kitchen. Will recommend to anyone wanting Chinese food

We decided to head to Goji Kitchen for a late Sunday afternoon lunch. We hadn't been there in many years and were happy to see all the nice reviews on yelp. We noticed they have some tables outside and a board with specials was propped near the door. We decided to dine indoors and we were greeted warmly and escorted to a table in the middle of the restaurant. We noticed several small groups dining late like us. Two more friendly employees stopped by to greet us, bring us menus and water. They have a varied menu with many healthy options. We ordered the vegetable egg rolls as our appetizer and for our main entrees, we decided on the special which was crispy eggplant with a sweet and spicy basil and garlic sauce and the yellow curry with chicken and kabocha, both with brown rice. A small salad was included with our lunches and we were really impressed with the freshness of the greens we received. The dressing was a light sweet and vinegar blend that was perfect dressing for this salad. Our appetizers arrived shortly after we finished our salads. The egg rolls were light and crispy and displayed very nicely with a sweet and sour sauce and garnish. The eggplant lunch was a nice surprise. The pieces had a light and crispy exterior with a flavorful sauce. The yellow curry came with plenty of protein and the veggies were cooked perfectly. I thought it could have used a little more flavor. I don't need a lot of salt in my dishes but this one was a bit on the bland side for me. As we were enjoying our lunches, I noticed more and more people stop in for a late lunch. The place was pretty hopping at 2:45 pm. I'm glad they have a solid clientele coming to enjoy their meals. We are anxious to try other dishes on the menu. Plenty of parking available. read more

The food and service at Goji are great. I love the sample plate of rolls. The pot stickers are yummy. And the Pho / noodle soups are a must. Two things I hate: 1) Pickup and delivery food customers must cross the dining room, and walk by all the tables. And this happens a lot! They brush past awkwardly as they try to get their pickup. It's annoying! 2) (see photos) this little spider web has been here for a few months and it's the first thing I see when I enter. Maybe I should get food to go rather than deal with the constant flood of people past my table. But I would still see the spider. read more

If you can't decide between Viet or Chinese food, there's a happy medium to be found here. Pho broth was very thick and aromatic, however the temperature was not as hot as it could have been. Noodles were cut up for some reason so it was difficult to pick up with chopsticks. The Braised Tofu & Mushroom Basil Clay Pot had thick sauce and gravy covering soft tofu with a fried exterior. It was a bit salty but I liked the variety of soft garlic, shitake and button mushrooms. Chinese dish was solid, Viet dish was ok. I'd be interested in trying the grilled meat + bun dishes to solidify Viet though! read more

Eggplant Basil -- NO! Menu doesn't say it's battered and fried but it is so much that I couldn't cut into it. Wouldn't take it back to replace it, even on a slow lunch service. I'd actually give it 3.5 stars. I've been here before prior to COVID and it was quiet, but today it was really busy and it's after 1 on a Thursday. The food was excellent and the appetizer and meal were enough to feed two people. I have plenty of leftovers. A fresh green, not iceberg lettuce, salad comes with your lunch. Nice mix. This is probably the best Chinese food in Santa Rosa, which is why it was busy. The service was not very attentive. I was the only one waiting for a table, but that took awhile to be seated. The place wasn't packed. Once I was seated and got my menu, decided, I waited at least 5-10 minutes. The waitress wouldn't make eye contact , but did repeat back the order, which is fine. I told her I wanted a ginger beer, as listed on the menu. She said they don't have ginger beer, but ginger ale. OK, I consider myself to be more than an amateur when it comes to ginger beer. Educational moment: I ferment ginger beer over a week or so. It is raw ginger, filtered water and sugar. It creates its own bubbles from the fermentation. It does not have alcohol in it and it better than ale. Ginger ale is generally browish in color and clear, not cloudy. It is generally sugar water and ginger syrup and not fermented. It was ginger beer. Everything else was fine. Price was fine with the amount of food. I was asked if I needed anything else, but the cashier didn't ask how my food was or thanks for coming in after she gave me the bill. I'll return. Hoping for better service. read more

We came on a Sunday around lunchtime. It wasn't too busy and nice outside. The ambiance is nice and could be a nice family lunch or a nice night out for a dinner date. It's pretty big and has a lot of table room. The food came out hot and delicious! We ordered a combination chow mein, pot stickers, sweet and sour chicken, and cream cheese rangoons. It's kind of pricy but good! The staff was nice too. read more

We love the food but we're so disappointed tonight when we waited for over a half hour to have someone check in with us and another half hour before we left and went somewhere else. People were walking up to the counter to order after waiting for more than 45 minutes to have someone take their order. I get that good food is in demand especially on a Saturday night but we were really disappointed. If you do make it in try the clay pot rice. read more

We've been GoJi fans for over 10 years, and did not realize that the restaurant recently changed hands. We frequently get the smoked salmon spring rolls and they were just different. When we realized we recognized no servers or staff, we started to wonder if our meal would be the same. Background music was a loud thumping (no description) beating sound. It was early and we asked to have tit turned down. Done. Then dinner came. It was excellent- Goji quality and beyond. Clay pot tofu with shiitake as great. Whatever was up with the spring rolls was more than compensated for by the rest of the meal. read more

Goji Kitchen is not only the best Chinese/American in Santa Rosa, my friends who love pho tell me it's the best pho this side of San Francisco. Delicious Kung Pao dishes, brown sauce dishes, and their Walnut Prawns are insane (but very rich). You can't go wrong... the whole menu is really good. read more

I came in around 2pm on a weekday and to my surprise, Goji Kitchen was quite busy! There were easily 6 groups having a late lunch, enjoying various plates of vibrantly colored veggies, proteins, noodles, and more. I ordered take out: P7 - Vegan Noodle Soup - Hu Tieu Chay (Tofu, Vegetables & Mushrooms) large only - $14.50 And while I was waiting for my food, I watched as steaming hot plate after plate came out of the kitchen. Everything looked and smelled delicious! When I got home, I found my soup neatly packed up in components, and I excitedly assembled it. It wasn't a power punch of flavor but rather very clean, light, and fresh. I enjoyed it and felt good about myself afterward. I look forward to returning and trying other items on their menu I read on their website, "In 2010, restauranteurs Ben and Jennifer Chang and natural health practitioner Kimchi Moyer created Goji Kitchen with the vision of offering fresh, healthy Asian fusion cuisine to Sonoma County." Was as good as other Vietnamese, restaurants... My criticism is regarding the meats... I ordered all of them. I love fat, not fond of lean... This meat however was so grissley and tough that it was inedible. I'm surprised they let it out of the kitchen. Goji Kitchen is the BEST 'asian' food in North Bay. Hands down. My husband, MIL and I are regulars here. When I first started dating my husband (who is white) brought me to this place -- as a Chinese person -- I was skeptical. He described it as "Asian-y" -- and that's never good. (I mean, you can see why I was skeptical, right?!) But seriously, it's the best all around asian place in the North Bay. Goji is always good, flavorful and satisfying. Now that I've been here many many times, let me explain the "Asian-y". They basically serve Vietnamese and Americanized Chinese food. They do both very well, but we usually go for the Chinese food. Stand outs are the Tofu & mushroom claypot, fish claypot, the spicy garlic eggplant (on the specials board), pork noodle roll (appetizer), veggie egg rolls and even the Asian Chicken salad is quite tasty. They are really really good at frying foods. They must double fry it or something because even with sauce on it, the crispiness is retained. So yeah, sweet and sour pork or chicken, orange chicken -- all that is awesome. Everything just tastes like whomever owns / runs Goji, really loves food. It tastes like, they CARE that the food to taste good. They're not just running a business, they want to serve food that they love. And I freakin' love that! And the portions are HUGE. I mean, HUUUGE. We can't ever help ourselves and order a ton of food and bring home lots of leftovers. Which makes it feel very American (another part of the 'fusion' part on this establishment!) By the numbers: Food 3/5 Service 5/5 Ambiance 4/5 Value 4/5 Papaya salad (tofu) - Good. Fresh ingredients with a veggie-friendly "fish" sauce and fried almonds (menu says no peanuts used in the restaurant). Could have used some more spice! Pork, shrimp, and imperial roll bun cha - Good. The pork itself was excellent and fish sauce was very good, but the rest was just ok. Swap the shredded bag lettuce at the bottom for some real greens, add some basil, spicy peppers, and lime, and you'd have a winner. read more

I sit out there 10 minutes just to check on what kind of service no one came out no one I called him up and told him they used to be a lot better than that. They will never see me again I figured when I got there nobody was outside. The place had finally gone completely to hell and I can see why Place sucks. This was my first time going and I was really excited to taste the pho but wow what a disappointment. First of all I didn't expect to get much meat but I was impressed how little meat they put. It was maybe for 3 maybe 4 bites worth of meat and the veggies were spoiled. My order was to go and honestly I feel they just put the things they wanted to get rid of.I got P8 It was a very fishy base which took me by surprise and it was spicy which is what I asked but it needed salt, especially once you added the noodles and meat it made it more obvious that it was lacking salt. read more

Easy parking, big portions, tasty food, and friendly service. And I really appreciate the efforts to avoid GMO and MSG and to offer a good amount of gluten-free choices. Only cons were we went at the lunch hour midweek and it became packed and my order didn't come out (my friend's did) so after 20 mins I asked and they apologized profusely that the order had been lost (but didn't take anything off the bill, not even the side of rice, which would have been classy). We also waited about 15 mins to get our order taken because it was slamming busy. Overall a great place, will return (I'll just know to order immediately upon seating or to avoid the lunch rush). read more

Come here quite often and this never happened until today.... The food is always good here and i loved it. My bad ish review is for the service. If u don't care if the service is good or not then no need to worry about my review. I ordered total of $60 worth of food. We love their hot chili sauce and asked for more and they told us it will cost "only" $1 more per chili and per order it only come with 2 container (which is expensive! If u see the picture they put it on a 1 oz container and they fill it up only a half way. That is mean it will cost $32/lb). I asked since we order 3 items can we get at least one more extra and they refused because it is their policy. I do not understand because if i only order 1 item then 2 chili would be plenty, but 3 items only 2 chili is definitely not enough. They were not apologetic either that she can't give us more. On top of that i open the bag and i ask and if napkins and chopsticks and stuff are in the bag and they told me "no! Do you want it?" I am quite confused usually if they do not want to waste utensils at least offer it, but she did not. I asked for it and she only give me napkins... And then i have to awkwardly asked for chopsticks. Love Goji Kitchen! Some of my favorite menu items are the orange peel sesame chicken, pine nut minced prawn and chicken lettuce cups, and the spicy Mongolian beef. The chili sauce they make is to die for! We usually order takeout so I cannot speak to the dining service, however, each time I have waited inside, their customers look very happy and appear to all have what they need. Most Chinese food makes me sick/bloated due to the high salt content- not at Goji. Menu items are a bit pricy, but justifiable because the quality of their food is top tier. read more

A bit overpriced and too sweet. Not very authentic, for example the green papaya salad wasn't spicy at all, and drench in some sort of sugar dressing. The emphasis on "free range" was lost on me, and the pho had three small pieces of chicken. Lemongrass beef had no lemongrass in it, with zero lemon grass flavor. Might be ok for US pallets, but for those seeking real Thai, there are better choices. read more
