Luckily I came across Kay at Sound Choice and she couldn't have provided a better service. She handled everything for us, all at a very fair price. I honestly didn't have to really do anything besides sit down and talk with her; otherwise she took care of everything. I had my dad cremated, and we had a service for him to celebrate his life. The service area is modern, clean and very pretty compared to some of the other places that we went to (they were dark and smelled). She also ordered a locket for me, which have my dad's cremated remains and finger print on it, so that I can take my dad everywhere with me. I give my highest recommendation for Kay and Sound Choice!

I am heartbroken and beyond disappointed with how my dog's cremation was handled. I specifically…read morearranged and paid for a private cremation so that I could receive my dog's ashes but he was cremated communally instead. Because of this mistake, I did not receive his ashes and lost the opportunity to place them in the ocean with my mother, who passed away from cancer five months ago. What makes this worse is the lack of follow-up and compassion. I called to ask where his ashes were placed looking for some closure because I have heard that sometimes the communal ashes are put in a garden or the ocean. I never even received a return call. Mistakes can happen. But accountability, communication, and empathy matter -- especially when families are grieving. Unfortunately, those were missing here. I hope no other family has to experience this additional heartbreak during an already devastating time.

Not sure about the details and inner workings of this because i am writing as a guest here. A small venue located in Saint Peterberg, it can fit lots of people, and essentially has 2 rooms, one in the back, and one in the front. For the funeral I attended, we used the room in the front, which also had a television. That same television was used to show a slideshow of photos of my aunt. Love that modern technology can be used in a setting like this. I attended this along with my family and some of my cousin's friends. It also had a restroom with a water fountain that one can drink water from. I point this out because My dad and I were drinking alot of water. and the service to honor was nice, except well--- I'm not religious and maybe some others are, but the priest did draw out prayers like the hail mary and our father. And nothing about that my aunt will be in all of our hearts and the memories will remain, and that would be a positive thing. Anyways, I'm not here to critique the priest-- just here to say that the venue was very cute despite small.

It has taken me over three years to find the strength to write this review…read more After my mother passed away, I was told where she was being held. Having previously experienced the compassion and humanity shown by funeral professionals in Indiana, I believed I would be allowed a brief, private moment to see my mother and say goodbye. Instead, when I contacted Brown Funeral Home, I was told that my sister had paid for the least expensive cremation option and that I could come to identify my mother's body for 20 minutes at a cost of $385. I was also told that the funeral home would need to contact the Power of Attorney for permission. I specifically asked that the Power of Attorney not be contacted because of the circumstances surrounding my mother's care and death. Despite that request, the Power of Attorney was contacted. I was subsequently told that I could view my mother's body, but that it would be classified as an "identification," limited to 20 minutes, and would cost $385. For me, this was not simply a business transaction. This was my mother. I was grieving and wanted the opportunity to see her, say goodbye, and have a moment of closure. Being told that this opportunity would cost $385 and require permission from another person was devastating. What has stayed with me for more than three years is not simply the cost. It was the lack of compassion I experienced during one of the most painful moments of my life. Families deserve dignity, compassion, and humanity when they are saying goodbye to someone they love. My experience with Brown Funeral Home did not feel that way, and it is an experience I will never forget.
