All Guns Are Loaded! Never Point a Firearm at Anyone or Anything You're Not Willing to Kill or Destroy. Almost got up and left, but we were really wanting to try out a couple new pistols. Staff is courteous and helpful. Main entrance area is clean and well presented. Waiver is thorough. Prices are on the high side, but acceptable of you buy an hours time. Got a lane, upstairs #3, and find one bench, no shelves, no table and nowhere to set anything but on shooting bench in lane. To quote our Dear Leader, " C'mon Man!". Tables or a long shelf on the back wall would be a fantastic upgrade. Ventilation sucked, or shall I say, failed to suck. Spent our session in a fog. Glad my SBR has a flashlight, it helped to see the target at the max 25yd range through the haze and dim lighting. Fix or improve ventilation, please, pretty please! A couple was shooting in lane #1, the man experienced a ricochet which hit him in his abdomen. Lucky to only incur a non-penetrating impact with immediate bruising. Bruise should be quite tender and colorful throughout this week. Found the lead that him, deformed enough that there's no way to tell what caliber it was and hence who fired it and thus maybe why it came back up-range. Most likely not the traps design, probably just a "Shit Happens!". Will probably return. Hope to see and experience improvements.

A word of advice on these guys, listen to them and you'll walk away a better shooter. They are strict on safety and can tell exactly what you're doing right or wrong with your shooting mechanics. Just one one of these guys has probably fired more rounds than I will ever see in my lifetime. Charlie who I believe is the owner is a very knowledgeable gun smith and knows his inventory. Located in a very beautiful part of Chunchula on 162 wooded acres, it's surprisingly affordable too: $300 per individual, or $500 for the family rate. (And, within reason, you can bring guests too.) Silver Creek Range is also an outdoor range, which is better if you're conscientious about lead, etc., and it has it all: 9 independent ranges with multiple berms, from long-range (1,000 yards) to a tactical pistol/rifle range, using both metal and paper targets. They also hold regular competitive matches. It's also got 2 Porta Potties, and is handicap-accessible. Plus, as my wife would tell you, it is a very female-friendly range, which isn't always the case at other ranges. Heck, it's just a friendly range, period. My wife forgot the magazine to her AR-15 her first time out there, and a very kind individual let her borrow his so we didn't have to turn around and go all the way back home to get it. In fact, when my wife, a gun novice, initially went looking for a range/instruction, she found prices ran over $1,000! But after becoming members, Jeff Stone, who owns and runs Silver Creek Range, spent over 2 hours with us, and particularly my wife, showing her how her AR worked and teaching her the proper way to shoot it. She had purchased her 1st AR at Jeff's shop, Stone Arms, Inc., with the promise that he would train her on it, and let's just say he underpromised and overdelivered! Jeff could've charged $1,000 or more for his expertise like some ranges do. But I think he saw an opportunity to not only fill a gap, and help a woman foray into the world of guns, which can be tricky for women to do sometimes, he also just clearly loves what he does. And the members could not be kinder or more helpful, especially if you're new. Additionally, Jeff took his time with us *on a Sunday* to not only instruct my wife on her new AR, but also to help her with a semi-auto and a revolver she didn't even purchase at his store. I mean, does this man ever even take a day off? He probably had a million other things to do, but he took the time to help her out. And if that's not service after the sale, I don't know what is! That's the kind of man Jeff is, and that's the kind of camaraderie you get when you join Silver Creek Range. It's worth every penny!

The guide was very knowledgable and a fun guy to be around for a few hours in the brush! We ate a home cooked lunch after the hunt which was delicious and then we went to check out the Sporting Clays course. They have been opened for a little over a year so everything is still in the process of being upgraded but the owner has refurbished the building on site, has a great barn he opened up to be used for events, and the Skeet course is brand new! The layout of the Sporting Clays allows him to alternate the throws every few weeks which he plans to do and the system of how you pay for clays is very easy for the customer! (You get a card you carry with you and the clay thrower systems are electronic so you just put your card in and it holds how many clays you have left. That way, during the week, when the owners aren't there you can go on your own and shoot clays! The owners cell phone number is on the card and he just asks that you take care of the course and lock the gate when you leave! Become a member and check it out!!!
