This place really stood out to me amongst the small, quaint shops and boutiques of Knutsford. The outside seating looked very inviting, but it was a little bit cold so we opted to go inside. The inside is small, no more than 8 tables - but I liked it. Warm, cosy and cute. They offer a fantastic little menu consisting of soups, sandwiches, salads and some special seasonal dishes - but we opted for some coffees instead, which were lovely. But this place is more than a cafe, The Cheese Yard also sells artisan cheeses that they buy from cheese makers all over then world, as well as and boutique wines, beers and ciders too. You can order a fantastic range of these cheeses to try with some lovely homemade chutneys and crackers. Alternatively, customers were popping in to buy selections of their favourite cheeses to take home. It really is a lovely place.

Meanwhile the service is super relax (don't be in a rush, give yourself 5 minutes to relax whilst they make your sandwich and have a chat instead). I costs a bit more but getting my lunch from this place, when I have the time, makes my day better, not just because I'm fed. On a nice day, you can also sit at the front, they have two little tables so you can enjoy your tea/coffee/sandwich and watch the rest of West Didsbury go by. If if you need catering for an event, they're also up to it! I'm a fan!

The girls working were brilliant as well, one was actually the owner and was happy to chat a little bit about the business! On top of this they've also got a decent selection of wine and beers at the back of the shop and the Prosecco we picked up was fantastic. We didn't spend long perusing (as I had a husband desperate for a coffee elsewhere) but I look forward to going back and having a proper browse as well as trying out their food from the deli counter.

I tend to usually go for a coffee and cake (if you're a cake lover they do an amazing selection -but be quick as the best ones sell out fast) but am partial to a bagel with cream cheese and salmon, which is divine. They do have a wide selection of hot and cold food dishes and lots of lovely nibbles/deli type food I.e. olives and cheese and amazing scotch eggs. They know a thing or two about wine and organise regular wine tasting events (still not made it to one though). Staff are lovely and very friendly and don't mind when I take my little girl and she throws food all over the place and tries to knock her Babycino over (they are free too). Only issue is that there isn't much seating indoors, so when the sun hasn't got its hat on, it can be a bit chilly outside (although they now have outdoor heaters). A great little place.

I stopped in for lunch with a few friends and was really impressed by the Mediterranean heavy menu which included several interesting salads, paninis, sandwiches, daily changing quiches and several types of platters. I went for the halloumi salad with olives and roasted peppers which was delicious and very generous with the amount of cheese. In fact everyone's lunches looked very impressive, particularly my friend's platter which I was massively jealous of when it arrived, being full of several of my favourite things including prosciutto, olives, sun dried tomatoes, mozzarella and what looked to be an entire ciabatta loaf - I definitely know what I'm ordering next time! Unbeknown to me prior to my visit is that in addition to the main cafe area there is a good sized courtyard at the rear which is perfect for a warm summer's day as it's a real sun trap. We sat out here and it almost felt like we could have been on holiday - almost! As well as the café they also do a large takeaway menu and have a deli counter of meats, cheeses, olives etc as well as freshly baked bread (delicious bagels) and posh cupboard items.
