We ordered one fresh shrimp rice roll, and waited about 10 minutes for our food to come out. It is PIPING hot so it was hard to hold and eat, but we managed. The first few bites were delicious and the rice roll was super silky. However I felt like since it was shoved inside the plastic container, the rice roll keeps cooking in its own heat, and thus got overly goopy. Still, I enjoyed the cheap snack on the street, but have definitely had better long-standing rice rolls in NY.

They host several events throughout the summer, bringing together an incredible lineup of vendors offering just about everything you can imagine featuring ube! From savory dishes like ube paella with its beautiful purple rice to delicious desserts and unique treats, there was so much to explore and taste. One of my personal favorites was the ube mango sticky rice which was absolutely delicious! There were so many creative dishes and combinations that made it exciting to walk around and discover something new at every turn. I love Filipino cuisine and am already familiar with many of its flavors, but I still got to try so many things I probably wouldn't have come across otherwise. That's one of my favorite things about food festivals: discovering new dishes, exploring different vendors, and stepping outside your usual food choices. The festival had a fantastic turnout, with plenty of vendors, lots of people, and beautiful weather that made the entire experience even better. The atmosphere was lively, the food selection was impressive, and there was no shortage of delicious things to try. If you're a fan of Filipino food, ube, or simply love discovering unique foods and supporting local vendors, put Ubeland on your summer festival list! It's a fun, delicious way to experience Filipino food culture, and I look forward to attending again next summer.
