No shows and no return calls etc. I felt helpless until I found Lou's Quality Home Care! They are the best and excellent getting coverage if our caregiver got sick or could not make it for good reason. Harry A Saunders III worked very near 50 years for Castle and Cooke eventually becoming Executive President and overseeing all operations in Hawai'i since 2001.He is particular and Cleo Suize was just amazing. She was a nurse elsewhere before and obvious that she knows how to care for patients! We all got along with her great, energetic, and kind personality! She rarely Sat and made sure my husband was always comfortable. When he napped, she would stay by the door to peek in on him and to hear him too. He would only sleep in his bed in our room and she made it work. Even our house was kept maintained and clean. The days Cleo was off we had Aida who was also really good caring for Harry and molding into our family! We all got along like family with the caregivers from Lou's and she herself would come by for personal visits to see if our needs were met!! It was like finding Angels on Earth for our care! Mahalo for truly caring for your patients! Love and Blessing to you, your caregivers, and staff Highly recommend this Company Aloha, Susie Malia Saunders

I am writing this review because it is incredible and inexcusable to me that this office can ignore…read moretheir own patients. I broke my foot in three places and was in a lot of pain. I saw Dr. Harris who I have to say was excellent. He took care of my broken foot and also injected my knee and my hip and solved some other issues. However, my broken foot was extremely painful. I took pain medication as per prescribed, I do not like pain medication so I tried to not take it as much as possible. However, at the beginning my foot was so painful I could not put any pressure on it or sleep however, when I needed more pain medication this office completely ignored me. I called several times and I was told someone would get back to me and they never did. I was without medication for an entire week and almost had to go to the emergency room, I just laid in my bed and waited it out until somebody called me one week later! When I told Dr. Harris what was happening he apologized. However, this same scenario repeated itself a month later I wanted to come in and get an injection in my foot so that I would not need any more medication, but I could not get an appointment and I also was having a lot of trouble walking, I called the office and asked for some pain medication and an appointment. They would not refill my prescription unless I came. I was ready willing and able to come in but I could not get an appointment! Then the doctor was going on vacation so I asked if I could at least get something to get me through the week so I could work and then I would come in. No answer. Then the doctor came back from vacation and I tried to get into see him but I could not get an appointment. I asked to speak to him on the phone and they said they would call me back and they didn't. He also told me to message him through the portal which I did, now it is Friday and I couldn't bear to go another weekend without any medication to help me walk. I messaged him in the portal. They read the message at 1 o'clock in the afternoon and no one ever got back to me. So here it is another weekend where I will have to lie in my bed because I cannot walk without pain. This is nothing short of malpractice, and I am disgusted with this office and their lack of communication. I saw another doctor in this orthopedic group several years ago for another broken bone and she was amazing. She always called me back when I called and she checked up on me after surgery. If I was in pain, she gave me advice and told me what to do prescribing whatever I needed in addition to physical therapy. As I said , Dr. Harris is technically very good and he seems to be a very nice guy, but his talents are wasted in an office with little to no communication. I will be finding another orthopedic doctor.

I had questions about accessibility to the office with whether to use my walker or scooter via text and had a quick response. Blake who was sitting in the front to check you in was very accommodating and friendly. Brought in the room and made watch a video while waiting for Dr Jo to come in and periodically checking on me. Then Dr Jo doing my assessment asking question of condition and what my goals are. He did some test and explained to where I stood. He also spent the time to explain to me everything I need to know and if I had any question and said that with the information he gathered he will make a plan for my treatment. He was also really pleasant and friendly. It felt like I was treated like family at this office. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !!

I was able follow them through the process with a wrist band that tracked his progress through the surgical day. Surgery day was surprisingly smooth. The anesthesiology team kept us comfortable, and the state-of-the-art facility felt more like a welcoming environment than a surgery center. They woke up with manageable discomfort--no worse than a tough workout--and was walking the halls just hours later. The nursing staff was phenomenal, checking in regularly and encouraging mobility with kindness and expertise. By week two, my cousin was off prescription pain meds and moving better than he had in a decade! Physical therapy started gently, and with each session, he regained strength and flexibility. Six months post-op, he's back to hiking local trails, gardening, and chasing his grandkids without a twinge of pain. His only regret? Not doing this sooner! Thank you to everyone at Honolulu Spine Center who took wonderful care of us!

I was able to get through to them right away on the phone. The young woman was very pleasant to talk to. I had asked if I could get a sooner appointment and she said she'd get back to me. She did so in two days and I got in sooner to see Dr. Simone. Dr. Simone has been handling my case. Initially she was a bit impatient with me when I first met with her. After that, she was super nice to me on the phone and at my last appointment. She is very, very knowledgeable about various stomach issues and gave me excellent information. She took time to explain things to me. I found her to be personable and very warm, so apparently I caught her on a bad day at my first appointment. Her medical assistant did make an error in my lab tests--she thought I needed to do a second test with another sample. When I brought the second sample to DLS, they told me they had enough from the first sample around so they were able to conduct the second test without needing a second sample. That was a bit of an inconvenience. Her medical assistant is slow in returning calls, and if I miss them and call back, I've been put on hold for at least 20 minutes. Hopefully that has improved. The staff was extremely nice and personable as well. So I can say that I went from a one-star review to a 4-star review of Hawaii Gastroenterology Specialists. I have removed the 1-star review I posted and rewrote this one because I was impressed with the changes that were made to improve the patient experience with this clinic.
