GNS did a great job replacing the roof on my house and detached garage. They showed up as indicated and completed the job in 1.5 days. They cleaned up as the roof was being installed and only found 2 nails around the house after completion. Everything was documented via pictures. Especially the plywood that needed replacing. read more

They didn't show up for the initial appointment to look at our leaking roof, didn't call and didn't answer their phone. They called back a couple of days later and said they'd come the next day, which to their credit they did. The roof was too wet that day to get up there, and they said they'd come back the next day. They did not come back the next day. They did not call and they did not answer the phone. I called them again the next day, again no answer, left another message asking whether they had any intention of coming back. No call back. I gave up. I suggest that if you have an URGENT roofing need, you should look elsewhere. read more

I generally believe that no person or business is perfect, but GNS Roofing Corp. of Northern Virginia is as good as it gets. The proprietor nearly always answers his phone, and if he doesn't, he always returns his calls. I was so impressed by his responsiveness and his willingness to walk me through the entire process of the roofing project. GNS Roofing installed a ridge vent in my roof, because the attic in my old house was totally unvented. While examining my roof, Jose noticed a few other things wrong (a few shingles and some flashing) and graciously fixed those problems at no additional cost, because he said he wanted us to be safe and comfortable with our roof, and that his biggest concern is that his customers are happy. Well, I couldn't be happier with Jose and GNS Roofing. When we need more work done, I won't be hesitating to call what surely is the best roofing company in the Winchester/Northern Virginia area! This company sucks. I still have not received my services. He seemed to be a good business person but falter at the end.

If I could give this company [if that's what we're going to call them] ZERO stars, I would. I called for an estimate. Spoke with Umberto. Said he would get his crew out to look and provide a quote on 5.30.2019. I called the next day to see what their thoughts were on the cost of the work to be done. He said that his 'tech' hadn't turned in his paperwork yet from the previous day, but that he would email me the quote just as soon as the tech got in to the office. 3 days later, no quote... so I called them back. I was sent to voicemail where I left a message asking Umberto to please call me back. **crickets** I called again the next day and was again directed to voicemail... you can totally tell when calling a cell phone when someone denies your call... it's pretty text-book these days. So... I waited until this morning and tried calling Umberto again from the office phone and was AGAIN denied the call and sent to his voicemail. I then tried calling right back, but this time on the 'down-low' using my personal cell phone number instead of the business phone. Wouldn't you know it... Umberto picked right up! I inquired about my quote and what his 'techs' believed it would take to complete the job... he played 'dumb' saying 'You had an appointment with us?'... O M G... really? He started shuffling some papers on his end, scrambling his words, trying to find a suitable excuse as to why no one had come out for the estimate and why he clearly did NOT have his proverbial ducks in a row. At that point, I advised him that this is a very big red flag on how things would go when his crew came to perform this commercial job and advised him that I would take my business elsewhere. Hey Umberto!!.... you just blew your supposed 'company' a ton of work. I am with a Property Management Group that manages 43 properties [both residential and commercial], all of which need regular maintenance and repairs on roofs & gutters. But since you didn't feel the need to get me that 1st quote or even input me on your 'techs' appointment schedule, you get this scathing review on your inabilities to properly coordinate work, let alone a very simple quote. read more

Jose and his crew were great. They came over to inspect my roof because I had a noticed a leak. They took pictures to show me the issues they found which was awesome. They were able to repair the reason for the leak and make other minor repairs on the roof the same day and their price was very reasonable. Re-roofed our place with 30 year Certainteed architectural shingles, Diamond Deck underpayment, new collars,etc. Got us on the schedule quickly, stayed in contact throughout, and worked the job straight through until completion over 3 days. Firstly, GNS did not do any work for me. That being said, Jim returned my call immediately, was polite and had me scheduled promptly. Due to the urgency of my needed repairs, I explained to JIm that I was going with first available, and that I would let him know if I got someone sooner. In the the end, my usual roofer was able to break free from a job and help me. I would recommend GNS based on their quick response and professional demeanor. Thank you, Jim! read more
