Bunch of lazy kids working or so they act like kids. No one ever offers to help they say they'll be back a certain time after lunch which is bull. The sign on the door says be back at 2:52PM from lunch, it's 3:49PM no one inside and the sign on the door. Just wasting people's time. Do not go here the employees have no knowledge of the products being sold nor do they care to know. Not worth investing time or money. If you want a real experience go to the Turlock ones, long drive but beats standing outside for an hour. read more

The store was well stocked with many popular brands and great selection of flavor options on protein and pre workouts. However endcaps lacked produxt prices and customer service was poor. Employees did not want to engage with me and didn't seem to know much about the promotions. Was asked one question and then both employees went straight back to their phones. Good location next to a gym, but I can see why this place was empty. However, if you get a team member concerned with customer service and some product knowledge, you may very well have a better experience. read more

While I was shopping at a different store, I attempted to call this location 6 times but no one answered. I called the Riverbank location and she said Modesto's should be open. I didn't want to have to drive all the way to Riverbank so I took a chance and luckily it was open. I Walked in and wasn't greeted. The lady was having personal convos with a worker from next door. once that person left, I asked the worker where a product was and she said ''over there'' and stayed leaning on the counter reading her book. Im not familiar with GNC or the products they hold, I went in for a gift. After not finding it, I asked her again and she pointed and said "next to so and so product" which indicated she didn't want to get up to show me. I finally found it myself. When ringing up, she asked for my email and I said I don't shop here so no thank you. She said I HAD to have an email in order to get a receipt which I thought was odd because she gave me a paper receipt. read more

5 stars for customer service and product availability.I called store asked if they had individual prework out packets sales associate gave me all of GNC options and invited me to come in, I did and wow ! Thanks to Gabriel he was able to get me a single dose product that was most close to what I normally take....he actually took the time and looked up my usual prework out and matched a GNC product closest to mine ! (waiting for my online delivery). Seriously even the customers before me buying stuff said "this guy knew his stuff"...thanks again Orangeburg GNC ! read more

Okay, first off, my brother and I went to the GNC location on Orangeberg Ave near Oakdale Rd in Modesto (3/22/12). Secondly, even if I wasn't lied to, the way the situation was handled was unprofessional, bordering on straight up rude. The "lie"? "California law says we cannot sell products that circumvent the results of a drug screen". Really? I just googled it and there is nothing out there regarding "legislation" on the matter, sooooooo...what's the truth? I know the truth for me is that I can go to a smoke shop on just about any corner and buy a product that is supposed to do the job and I won't be "judged" for making an inquiry...you can already see where this is going, huh? Now, GNC is known for having a high quality product, if you want something in the way of a supplement or vitamin, they are one of the best brick and mortar business around. If you have a pre-employment drug screen and you live around people that smoke pot, wouldn't you want a little insurance? Do you want to get it from a low end corner smoke shop that probably buys the cheapest junk they can to turn a profit or would you prefer to go to a reputable purveyor these types of things? I know what I tried to do...buy a system cleanse/detoxifier So, didn't catch her name, there were 2 females working in the shop at the time, I was assisted by the middle aged female, the younger one kind of stayed out of the (brief) discussion. I explained what was needed, she got very "matter of fact" like I had just questioned her personal hygiene or something, then laid into me about how her job is on the line and a bunch of other stuff, frankly, I was too busy thinking "look at this crazy person go" to really take in everything that came out of her mouth, when I asked "really". I got raged (a mild exaggeration) on by a store clerk for trying to legitimately buy something they legitimately sell. I suspect because my lifestyle doesn't fall in line with her personal values, she felt it her moral duty to make sure that I knew in no uncertain terms that my business was not wanted or appreciated at GNC Stores...or is it GNC policy to not sully their good name by selling us "junkies" a product to improve the quality of our lives? Perhaps the policy and employees are less pretentious at The Vitamin Shop? If they can't sell me what I'm looking for, will they treat me as if I they just saw me sell cocaine to a toddler? Probably not...GNC, you lost 2 customers today because of the actions of your employee, you should probably reprimand her or give her an award, depending on the company's stance on this sort of thing. read more

Of the GNC stores I shop, this is my favorite. I get in-depth product knowledge and courteous help every time I come in. I have the $15 Gold Card that gives me unexpected discounts and I appreciate that savings almost every time I go h and ere. The help staff and management are really friendly and I so appreciate that in today's shopping environment. It's hard to walk-in to any big super-store these days and feel you'll get personal care and answers to your questions. That's not the case at the Orangeburg GNC. I'm not sure, but I thin it's the busiest one in town also, even though it's quietly tucked away in the back of the complex. It's right next to my gym, Planet Fitness, so I guess a lot of shoppers come from there as well. This store is half the size of Vitamin Shoppe but the prices are equally good and the store is laid out easily to find what I need. Overall 5 Stars for this GNC and their staff.
