I come here looking for specific things like natural maple syrup and high quality flour. I tend to not get fruits and I tend to find more items here from small businesses than brand name spots, so I'll sporadically find things here to impulse buy. They also have lots of prepared self-service hot foods and a poke bar if you want a meal to go. My favorite thing here are their fresh baked chocolate chip cookies, priced at $3.75. They sell so many of them, that they're constantly putting out fresh batches. I've come in four times this year for it and it's been hot and fresh every time! I find that outstanding as I've been to stand alone bakeries with cookies that weren't as fresh as they are here. The cookie is massive and has high quality ingredients you can taste. It's as good of a chocolate cookie as you can find anywhere. Come get some, because if they keep up the high turnover, then I can keep eating them hot and fresh!

Hey I mean I love Whole Foods despite the price and yea maybe I pay for overpriced food for some…read moreitems but guess what! I don't mind it. Walking in just makes you feel "healthy" or just more conscious about what you are eating. For instance, I loveeee snacks, I'm a big snacker! So when I go to the snack aisle I can't fall into the seed oil or bad additive snacks. They aren't perfect but a lot of them are healthier than your average snacks. So this an example on why I enjoy going to a store like this to pay a bit of a premium. Parking is fairly easy unless you are going at a prime time. The parking is free for an hour and a half which is convenient. When you walk in you have produce on the left with protein/meats behind. Then you have the smoothie bar with house care/wellness in front. In the front of the store there's a Amazon drop off center too.

For those who complain it's too expensive, it is all relative. They have $27 candles but also $1.60 glycerin bars and $3.00 shea bars of soap. Juice can range from $3-12 depending if it's cold pressed, etc. There are certain brands and items I like here and I am a fan! The entire Good Crisp brand for one! :) 2/$8 or $4.49 a slice for pizza is a great deal. We had a mid-shopping slice before regrets were made in the cart. Haha. The 1 topping whole is only $20! Say what you will, I like their crust and the toppings are fresh. I noticed a lot of specials and deals posted throughout the store. EG: Sushi on Tues / Fri (I forget) is buy 1 get 1 50% off. Staff is nice and they are always so many employees stocking or working that if you need anything, it's not difficult to find anyone.

Upon entering this market I'm greeted by a nice man he says hi as well as a staff member telling me thanks for stopping by. I do notice that there is a strong odor in the store it doesn't bother me and I shop aisle by aisle to see what they have. There is not much of what I wanted to try and looking for. The produce was alright but I noticed that they have a lot of items older goods that were close to expiring, food products especially canned and bottled items etc. please be careful and check the expiration dates. The store is small but I can't seem to find much of anything. I settled on a few random things and made my way to the counter. The meat area wasn't stocked with much and what they had didn't look very fresh or appealing. Dried garlic Older container but I bought it to try. Cucumber was fresh Most of the produce appeared fresh. Strawberry Shortcake ice cream bar I bit a corner It was expired and tasted bad. Beef jerky looks good. I'll review and update tomorrow. Nan - a spicy fermented sausage I came specifically to try this. Pork cracklings It expires in 1 1/2 months I should have checked the expiration date to avoid wasting. $3.89 My goal was to show support and I'm glad I did that. I spent $28.64. First of all the owner and his staff are good people kind and helpful but I feel they need some help getting that store together the pics on Yelp do not match with the store saw. I would do a disservice to the public if I wasn't truthful on my review of this store. In my opinion it needs restructuring cleaning, product shelf updating and sanitize the meat area. immediately. I wish them success and hope they see this review as constructive criticism and address my complaints and issues. Just me Shawn C.

I was disappointed and will continue going to Dong Mai or Kim Long.

I've been coming here…read moreconsistently for the last two years, and it's hands-down one of the best small businesses in the area. The owner Hasuni is incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely passionate about what he does. Every time I have a question about supplements or protein, he takes the time to explain things in a way that actually makes sense. No pressure, no upselling, just honest guidance tailored to what I need. I've also noticed that he is like that with everyone that comes in, a super genuine guy! On top of that, they have a smoothie bar, and every smoothie is packed with protein and tastes amazing. These are not chalky, bland "health" shakes. They're legit delicious and feel like a treat while still supporting your goals. Pricing is another huge win. The prices here are very competitive, often better than Amazon and other big stores, and you get expert advice included for free. That alone makes it worth shopping local. He also has tanning beds& red light therapy that are the most affordable in LB! If you're into fitness, nutrition, or just want quality products from people who actually know their stuff, this place is a must. Support local, grab a protein smoothie, you won't regret it.

There is plenty of parking at the rear of the store and if you're just making a quick pit stop, you can usually park on Pine Ave in front of the store, between the 2 lanes. in the center Island. No one will bother you. Just don't abuse of it please. This is my second time in this store. I really liked their product on my first visit. So, i decided to come back for more and thus give them a fair review of my full experience. Their services range from Sports Nutrition to tanning to cryotherapy. They have a smoothie bar, sports drinks, a wide variety of protein bars and even workout gloves, belts and much more... The store is always fully stocked with everything and anything you might need for your nutrition and or workout needs. Great product variety to suit everyone's preference. The interior with it's concrete polished floor, tall and robust metal racks gives it a distinct industrial feel conducive to something of a power house. Yet the fully stocked shelves and beautifully arranged marchandise makes the space feel warm and inviting. Hasuni, the owner has been in in business for about 30 years now. He was a body builder himself and is an overall fitness lover. He is an expert in his field and is super friendly. I Went in to purchase some pre-workout products as well as some protein and i ended up grabbing a few other things. The service was excellent. I ended up hanging out for a little while longer chit chatting with him and watching his interaction with his customers. He really treats everyone like family. He is also a big time English Premier league fan, as i am. :) The prices are very competitive and i feel that the products are very unique and very good quality. Much better than GNC or other over commercialized nutrition stores. Shout out to Hasuni for the great service and for making it easy to pick my products. I'll be back soon! I highly recommend Max Muscle downtown long Beach for all your fitness, sports nutrition related needs and everything in between.
