My daughter (lvl 7) needed coaches who would push her to limits she didn't seem possible, she needed coaches who didn't tell her she is a disappointment (last gym did), and a gym that actually does gymnastics and isn't a beautified, very expensive, after school child care center when parents are paying a car payment monthly and devoting 20+ hrs/week to. I drive 4 hrs round trip, 5x/week for this gymnastics center, so I 100% vouch for them. If you want your child to not only succeed, but succeed on a national level...then come to Capital NTC. Our family had a very poor experience at this center. I should have trusted my instinct during the…read moreenrollment process when the center leaned about my child's minor disability and demanded I complete a reasonable accommodation form prior to his start date. My 2 year old is in a physical therapy program, during the pandemic his therapy was strictly virtual.I was required to sign a document that stated "should the center be unable to reasonably accommodate my child's needs" he would be disenrolled. I assured the director Sarah Zirzow that he was an independent and active average 2 year old they did not need any "special" privileges or accommodations yet we were still denied a fair treatment. I took her actions as a simple inexperience in working with children with disabilities and abided by the rules. 1st day the incident reports began piling up. He was sent home with multiple reports of violent behavior which sounded nothing like my child. The director made the decision to not allow him to come back for the remainder of the week and put together a 3 strike contract terminating him from the program. My child was disenrolled in less than 3 weeks. I have made over a dozen contacts to the corporate office at the Learning Group asking for a call back and no one has yet to return my call. The center charged us for a month and a half worth of daycare expenses and has made further unauthorized charges against our checking account 4 weeks after his disenrollement date. A billing specialist at the leaving group finally informed me that my refund would not mailed for 7-9 weeks! I have sent multiple emails since requesting videos of the allegations, copies of incidents they reported that were never provided to me, an explanation to my refund.. none of which have been responded to. The center staff was very pleasant during the enrollment process but have very little to no experience in managing an educational program and caring for small children. The new center has not reported a single incident in nearly 4 weeks.... I feel so guilty putting my child through whatever happened at this center during that 3 weeks and not trusting my first instinct. We have always wanted to put our kids in a martial arts program, but was never able to find the right fit for our family. When we decided to buy a house in Manassas in May of 2016, little did we know how much that move would change our lives. After we got settled, I began looking for a good martial arts school for my kids. I made personal visits to every martial arts school in the area... Mt. Kim and Master Jeon deliver a quality, caring, loving and challenging program. Every challenge and obstacle is overcome through encouragement and motivation. Master Jeon will push you to your limits and really show you exactly how much you can do. My kids started in Aug of 2016. They have grown soooo much! Each of them with their own special personality, Master Jeon and Mrs. Jeon get to know our kids and I really believe in my heart, they see our kids as an extension of their own family. In Dec of 2016, my kids finally talked me into taking class with them. It has been life changing for me. Master Jeon was patient with me in helping me to accomplish all that I have and helping me to get beyond the obstacles I faced. I was injured in the line of duty and never believed after 9 knee operations, ankle reconstructions, that I could ever "do this". I find myself every day doing things I never believed my body would again! All thanks to Mt. Kim Martial Arts! Their name says it all "Spirit". They have it in spades! We take many of the TaeKwonDo classes as well as their Comprehensive Martial Arts (which is their Hapkido and Judo classes). My kids also attend the before and after school program! They absolutely love it and never want to leave the school!! If you are looking for a challenging program where you have to earn your way to Black Belt and beyond... if you are looking for a school who will treat your kids with respect, love and encouragement... if you are looking for a way to get in shape and off the couch... most importantly, if you are looking to make a lasting positive change in your life the lives of your family, you can't do better than Mt. Finding motivation in a child can be a challenge, but all the instructors really do a phenomenal job of balancing discipline and fun. The facilities are clean and easy to access. The prices are so incredibly reasonable and a very good option to provide an extra activity for kids. They seem to provide an engaging summer camp as well.
