As part of my research into buying my first guitar - I came in and talked with a very nice young man - I believe his name was Noah. He answered all of my questions and I was leaning toward buying an Epiphone acoustic guitar at the time. Noah also gave me a tour - there is a whole other level downstairs! There must have been some 20 private music lesson rooms, and then down this back hallway - a large room for jam sessions/open mic night on Friday nights. Based on the service I received from Noah - I like Contemporary Music Service. The place is bright, well laid out, clean, and energizing. I am sure I will be back to check out accessories and lessons once I get going with the guitar I did select.

My good friend and I went into this local music shop for a simple procedure: he wanted the nut and…read morebridge replaced on his acoustic with bone rather than the onboard plastic. This SHOULD have taken an hour or two tops, maybe a day if they were very busy. However, this store kept his guitar for over three weeks (after saying it would be a "couple days, tops"), and when he got it back, nearly nothing had been done. The bridge and nut remain the same, and the guitar's finish has fingerprints all over it. They then charged him $40 to get his guitar back, which basically amounted to a string change. I find this completely unacceptable, and I will never ever give them any business ever again. I had a similar operation done to my acoustic at Guitar Center, and it took less than two hours. I urge all of you to boycott this shop as they're incapable of following through on a very simple request, even after multiple calls over the course of 3 weeks for this "couple days, tops" work. The teaching was fun and intriguing, which I found it especially important for little kids. Elza was patient and definitely experienced at getting my four year old the solid good foundation he needed and also getting him to like what he plays with piano. He just had his first recital with Ms. Elza last week, and it all turned out nice and beautiful. So far, after learning for 5 months with Ms. Elza, my son likes playing, practicing piano, and is proud of himself playing music a lot. We'd definitely recommend.

Our son had a prior piano teacher who, although kind, did not provide our son with the teaching he needed to help him advance, and that former teacher also wasn't invested in getting to know our child. Joe is the exact opposite of all this! Joe is a patient, intelligent teacher, who knows how to challenge his students while still having fun. He truly cares about our son, and indeed, cares for all of the students in his piano studio. Joe also has a wonderful way of integrating important life lessons while teaching piano, and takes the time to learn about each child so that he knows how best to relate to them and build their confidence. We were looking for a school in the area that was not only rich in their curriculum, but a school that was diverse in its culture and one that embraced children of all ethnicities. I noticed that during Black Histoy Month (2/2023), there were no initiatives highlighted in the February Monthly newsletter to recognize the contributions of the many African-Americans that have contributed to American History. I decided to email the staff with ideas in which Black History Month could be incorporated into the curriculum, considering that there were a number of African-American students enrolled at HCA. I received a phone call immediately from one of the Administrators (Mrs. Juliana) stating that this was an oversight and that they would be sure to highlight Black History Month. I had a follow-up conversation with the Curriculum Specialist (Mrs. Giovanna)...and to my surprise, she had incorporated many of the items that I highlighted in my email! Not to mention, how swiftly she acted upon this. I would like to extend my SINCEREST gratitude for all that HCA has done for Black History Month and everything that they are instilling in my children daily. I was thoroughly impressed with the various learning activities the students participated in throughout the month. They exceeded my expectations on highlighting African-American culture and the many great achievements of some of the well-known Black pioneers that have contributed to AMERICAN HISTORY. Efforts such as these make my husband and I confident that we have selected the right school for our children. We look forward to our children thriving in a school environment that promotes diversity and inclusion, as well as high educational standards. Job well done HCA!!
