A job to install a deadbolt, correct gaps between the bottom of an exterior door and threshold and install a seal between a glass shower door and tile were the simple tasks requested. Well, for the dead bolt the individual removed the door knob and put on the dead bolt. So now we have a door with no knob and a dead bolt knob. For sealing the gap at the bottom of the exterior door, well he stuck adhesive weather stripping to the door. A picture is worth a thousand words. For the shower door, he attempted to glue a door sweep to the door. Obviously it didn't work. I'm a very handy guy with a lot of knowledge of how things should be done. This was complete incompetence. The company should be embarrassed by this type of work and then to demand payment.

Just recently one gentleman installed a very complicated washing machine in an unconventional place (I live in a split level home) and he never complained, did everything perfectly, and even gave me helpful advice about the machine. I work until 6pm on weekdays so this man showed up and did the work even though it took him until 12:30am. I feel kind of guilty about that and will try not to do it again but I appreciate Handyman Matters for fitting in to my schedule.

The technician said it was probably a broken valve. We had two plumbers look at it stating it was not the valve and the issue was on the wall where the fix was done. On between the two plumbers, we reached out to The Happy Handyman to come back out to look at it and see what the issue was. She refused to take any responsibility for it. We had the 2nd plumber open the wall back up. The Happy Handyman had put in a check valve shark bite coupling and had installed it on the wrong direction. It cost us another $500 to have it fixed. If they were professional as stated on their comment they would have come back out to see if the issue was due to what they had done. We have had a lot of work done on our houses in the past, and we have never put a bad review on Yelp. The Happy Handyman is just trying to shift the blame off of themselves.
