I found Glow Professional on yelp and based on the reviews the company has received, I wanted to try their service to get my own experience as well. Called in (left a voicemail - they may have been busy with other customer) and received a call back probably within less than an hour. The lady on the phone was very polite and professional. Getting our upholstery cleaned by a professional was a first for us, so we were not sure what to expect. When Lavonte showed up (I believe he even arrived early), he appeared very professional and was really friendly! After giving us our price for the couch that needed the cleaning, he started with the service. The outcome was immaculate! I wish I would have taken a before picture. Our couch had been tortured by 2 dogs, a cat, and other crazy festivities we had at our house (thanks to our lovely friends). It's been through a lot... and after Lavonte deodorized, vacuumed, and cleaned it looked brand-spanking new!! I will surely recommend the company and the service we have received and I'm sure we'll be scheduling more cleanings since our living room couches may feel a bit jealous from our freshly cleaned living room couch. Wow. This business really doesn't know how to run a business. Don't fall for their groupon deal. Talked to a girl named Brianna who ridiculously told me that: 1. They don't do carpet cleaning if the room is empty, meaning they only accept business if the room has furniture because she "smartly" told me that it was more work if there is no furniture in a room. Seriously? Don't you want your furniture moved so that you can have the carpet cleaning maximized? What are we customers paying for if you want to do the least work possible? And 2, they also can't book more than one groupon appointment a day (meaning, you'll never be able to use your groupon). Lastly, they keep up-selling you and telling you that the deal you bought is super basic and is "not going to be up to your standards and you won't be satisfied". I scheduled Glow because: * I got to question the actual service person, who was very professional. * I prefer small mom & pop businesses. * Glow is very upfront with their very competitive pricing as shown on their website(no fake coupons on overpriced service, like some other companies are doing). The service met my expectations, and I am very happy with LaVonte's results. * He didn't use those old weak "wand cleaners", he used a more modern "360i cleaner." * The cleaning solution was very mild in odor, he said non-toxic and organic. * He was very thorough, and didn't rush any part of it. I remember service (other homes) from Stanly Steamer and Chem-Dry had much more leftover moisture and odor. In customer service and cleaning results Glow was much better. I had a great experience with Glow and absolutely enjoyed meeting LaVonte. Not only did he do a great job on my carpets, he did extra rooms for a very fair price, was great with my nosy dogs and even gave me some useful marketing advice for my massage business...what is not to love?! Having recently moved into a townhome that had cats, I bought a Groupon deal for Glow's six-room carpet cleaning service. The response to the deal was huge, so it took a few weeks to get it done since I'm only available on weekends and Glow is closed on Saturdays. Makes sense. LaVonte sent a text message confirming my appt and arrived on-time on Sunday. He is extremely pleasant and energetic...you can tell he enjoys his work. After an inspection of the carpets, he started the job and I hung out in my living room since it was the only place without carpets. Since I saved money using Groupon, I upgraded to the gold package which adds carpet protector. LaVonte takes his time during the 3-hour process. It is a meticulously detailed cleaning that gets to the bottom of the carpets and pulls out the dirt and odors. It's REALLY loud, but that's expected. When he was done, my carpets were damp, but I could walk on them if I needed to. He completed the job around 1pm and all of the carpets were completely dry by the next morning. I left my heater on for an hour or so and that helped. I had vacuumed numerous times and still had lots of hair in the bin and LaVonte said even his vacuum won't get all of that out, but the deep cleaning tool will. And he was right! =) The circular spots are gone; the spell of old cat/old lady is gone; and the hair is gone. Needless to say, I now have a "no shoes on the carpet" policy in my house. LaVonte did a great job- from calling me back when I left a message to get an appt, to the carpet, etc. The last time I had the carpets professionally cleaned, it was the type where a big hose comes from their van into your house. LaVonte doesn't do that, he uses your own sink a few times, but he does a great job. It was obviously he does a more thorough job because it took a big longer to get done than the other type, and it took longer to dry. But it was still pretty much dry by the evening. Only doing 4 stars because I had a 3-room deal, but he said my rooms were really big, so he only did 2. Which wasn't a huge deal, the main area I wanted to get clean was. Bought a Groupon for "Glow Professional Home Cleaning" for carpet cleaning and am not impressed with their customer service. When I first called and mentioned that I was using a Groupon LaVonte told me that his system was "down" for making appointments and that he would call me back in 3 hours. I thought that was very odd, and 3 hours came and went. I called back after 6 hours and got a voicemail. He eventually called me back but I did not have any luck scheduling an appointment within the next 2 weeks. When I asked him if he add any availability in the next 2 weeks he said "not in your area". So... if I wasn't in "my area" I could get an appointment????? Horribly disappointed, and I haven't even been able to schedule my carpet cleaning. He is not very professional or accommodating and I get the feeling this is a one man operation. I would not have any issues with that if he was able to handle his work load and remain professional. I am very disappointed with Glow. Glow failed to deliver all the services advertised, and did not honor the base value of the groupon we purchased (which already smelled of a bait and switch). I purchased a groupon for a carpet cleaning, and tried to schedule an appointment. When I tried to schedule, they said there were no available slots til 3 months later! They upsold us to a more expensive carpet cleaning which is advertised to include vacuuming, shampooing, and carpet protection. Since we already sunk money in the groupon, we figured we might as well go with it and use the base value of the groupon. Come to the day of the cleaning, they did not vacuum at all before shampooing (I wasn't there overseeing their work and don't think I should have to), and they refused to honor the base value (not promotional value) of the groupon. Everything just turned out sketchy, so we are not even confident they applied the carpet protection. read more

It took a complaint from Groupon to get them to call me back...had to schedule two months out (was told if I was a paying customer rather than a Groupon customer I could schedule next week). Once they arrived the square feet and specifics of the Groupon got more and more technical and required more $$, of course. They are good companies but cleaning is specifically a tech e.g. If you look at Coit you talk about Kim service master Thomas that's all. What customers should know is that Groupon and living social are brokers and we use them for advertising How can you buy a cuopon for $50 where a merchant gets $25 then expect them to offer service worth $300 it's not practical. Do Not Use Glow! The owner is very dishonest and tries to swindle you into paying more money then is stated when purchasing Glows Groupon. He was very aggressive when we refused to pay the extra $110 that he stated was owed after the Groupon deal. He stated that the Goupon didn't include cleaning your carpet with shampoo. Only hot water. We asked him to give us an explanation of what we paid for through the Groupon. He said "that he didn't have time to argue with us." He then threatened to send us to collections. This company was amazing. I emailed the company, and Lavonte got back to me within hours. He was very personable and was very honest about the work I needed and what he could provide. He was available within a couple of days and was on time. He wore protective clothing and shoe covers... very professional. He cleaned my sectional and my staircase, and both ended up looking brand new and smelled great. Lavonte was very nice and friendly. We had a terrible experience with Glow. We purchased their Groupon in early summer, and they didn't even have availability until the end of November. By then, the Groupon expired, and the service tech who arrived stated that he won't honor the expired Groupon and that "he won't even take out his equipment for only $85." I didn't want my $85 to go to waste, so I forked over $75 more for him to actually get his equipment and do his job. I told the tech that his company is a scam, duping people into buying Groupons, scheduling them for when the Groupon is expired, and making them pay more for them to actually come in. He responded with "we get that a lot." He also wanted to take a photo of my credit card, which was sketchy. To make matters worse, he scuffed up our walls at each step. Each stair going up has scuffed up paint where he gracelessly scraped his equipment. We're in the process of repainting now. Overall, a horrible experience from a horrible business. Just had this company out yesterday. Excellent customer service. The tech was right on time, super professional, and didn't try and upsell us at, which I was greatly appreciative of. Yes, if you use a groupon you have to schedule out a few months, but if you aren't up against a timeline, it is SUPER worth it. We have a 3-year-old so there were a few water (and other random) stains on the furniture that we hadn't been able to get out so we were really interested if Glow would be able to take care of them. We were introduced to Glow by way of the Amazon Discounts. We had no prior knowledge of this company but decided to take a risk since our carpets were filthy and needed cleaning badly! When Glow arrived, We immediately noticed a couple of things that brought comfort to us. First, the technician arrived in a clean, professional white van with the logo on the side. That made a statement that this was not a fly-by-night operation, but one that cared about it's image and work. Then, we watched as the technician got our of the van in a white overall with the logo on it (again, very professional, customer oriented looking). The man who came up to the house greeted us with a huge smile and very friendly demeanor. our minds were put to rest right away as we began to talk like we were old friends. But the best was yet to come...the cleaning of our carpets! We watched closely as black, disgusting was sucked up from the professional equipment that was being used. We were worried with our berber carpet that we had waited to long and that it was going to look horrible forever. NOT SO! In a matter of about an hour, our carpets looked beautiful, were treated with ScotchGuard, and the house smelled clean! Based on our experience with this family owned business, We would highly recommend you give them a try and see if you don't have the same great experience we had. i found this company on Groupon. They had an offer for $49 which included cleaning in up to 3 rooms. when i made the purchase i was under the impression that the service included SHAMPOOING of the carpets and application of a stain protectant. when i called to schedule my appt i was informed the next available date was several months out, which i was ok with. The day before my appt i received a text informing me of the appt time, which was different than the time i originally made the appt for but i didnt make a fuss becasue i'd already planned to be home all day. When Lavonte arrived at my home he was pleasant but immediately tried to hustle us and get an up sell. He told us that the groupon only included cleaning with hot water.... no soap and no stain protection, but for an additional $40 he would use soap and stain protection. well of course i refused to pay any extra and informed him of the deal i was under the impression i purchased and that i feel like it was falsely advertised. My husband proceeded to ask for a refund and was told to contact Groupon but it'd take a few months. I on the other hand wanted my carpets done that day becasue i'd already waited months and had already spent the money. Lavonte then offers to do the additional services for $35 and again i refuse. After seeing how upset and after me stating how unhappy i was he then says he has a "little soap" in the car and will include the soap but not the protection at no additional cost. I agreed to that. In all honesty he did a GREAT job cleaning our carpets, we were really pleased with the outcome but becasue of the way he conducted business im not sure that i'd use him again or refer to friends and family in fear that they'd have a similar experience. This is the worst carpet cleaning experience that I have had.... Multiple Issues: 1. I purchased a Groupon, and they expected me to be on a wait list to redeem it unless I was willing to upgrade my service. 2. Lavonte put a stain in the carpet that wasn't there when he arrived. We went through and did a walk through with him to go over stains for treatment. The bright yellow stain that was about one square foot was not there at the time of the walk through. The carpet is less than one year old. I called him to ask him to come back to fix the stain. He told me that he wasn't willing to do anything for the stain. 3. When he arrived, he asked for us to all leave, so we wouldn't be in the way. This would have been nice to know at the time of scheduling the appointment.
